Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There are 2 porta potties near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. We do provide a large trash bin near the porta potties for trash disposal. DO NOT throw trash into fire pits or burn barrels in the woods. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you CANNOT drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) campsite in the case of property maintenance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc). Please note that site 6 is the furthest site from the parking area, approximately 275 feet, with one hill. This site is closest to the river and set apart a bit from the other sites. Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is cut firewood in several locations in the woods for all to use, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). This is a large site that is designed to hold up to 3 tents and up to 15 people. This site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a large tent. This site has a central fire ring. This site is great if you are camping in a van, small pop-up, car or truck. This is a flat spot in a shaded area in a large meadow. There is a gravel drive that leads to this spot, and the site is on grass (you will be parked on grassy ground. Please consider this in the event of rain, as the ground may be soft. If the ground is saturated and not suitable for parking, an alternative will be to stay parked on the gravel drive). This site is ideal if you would like to camp/sleep inside your car, truck or van. This is the only site you can drive onto. NO campers or RVs allowed, just vehicle parking for a tent site, or a camper van, or small pop-ups. There is no electricity or water hookups here. (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) site in the case of property maintennance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc) To reach the Meadow site: as you drive down the gravel drive to the woods, before you reach then end, you will see a small wooden sign, and will veer off the gravel drive to your left to drive in the grass to a pull through site. Our Cabin site is a rustic cabin overlooking a creek. The perfect chance to experience nature in comfort. Our cabin has one queen loft and one twin loft that are accessible by ladder. There is a futon couch downstairs that can fold into a bed. You can watch tv, and there are electric and battery lamps. While there is no running water, there is water dispenser with fresh water, and a sink that drains to outside. There is a wood burning stove to keep you warm in the winter. Plenty of windows allow for natural sunlight. 5 screened windows open to allow fresh air, and there is a fan to keep you cool in the summer. (Please note there is not an air conditioner) Front porch and back deck allow opportunities to sit outside and relax There is a portapotty a short walk away, and a bathrooom with flush toilet and outdoor hot shower a longer walk away. Provided in cabin: queen and twin lofts are fully made with bedding. Sheets and comforter are provided for the futon. Kitchen stocked with tea kettle, paper plates, disposable cups and utensils, paper towels, trashbags. Battery operated Water dispenser for sink for running water. electric and battery operated lamps and fan. 5 screened windows with blinds. Please note there is no Air Conditioner. Screened windows and fans provided

This was my first camping experience and I couldn't have picked a better place. The property is absolutely stunning! I can't wait to return in the summer, but I'm so glad we got to see the fall colors. Such a short walk to the river, which is just gorgeous. The cabin was perfect for us. The wood stove and water system were super easy to use and having a TV was a cherry on top! Lol. There were little touches everywhere of things that were either helpful or just plain charming. My main concern, being a first-timer was safety and that box was definitely checked. It's a perfect spot for a couple, a family with children or a group of college kids. We just left and I can't say enough. Thanks, Marla, for an amazing time!

We stayed in campsite one. It was really nice and not too far from the parking spots. The bathroom was also nice and not too far of a walk from the campsite. We will definitely be back again. We loved that they provided firewood! Just be prepared to carry your camping stuff to your site, they do have wagons but when we went everyone else had taken them already and kept them at their sites so we had nothing to use to haul our stuff to our site.

This is the second time I have stayed at the cabin and both times have been an amazing experience! The amenities offered are amazing! I felt connected to the outdoors while still being able to enjoy the comforts of a clean and well supplied facility! A great way to get away for the weekend without all the hassles of traditional tent camping. A great way to dip your toe into camping before going all out into a tent.

We loved staying here! Campsite 6 is the most remote, which we loved, and was right by the river. It was a large wide open space with lots of shade and plenty of wood for campfires. Our dog loved the wide open space too! The carts were a God-send to help us bring our stuff in! So thankful for them! Would love to return!!❤️

The campgrounds were clean and maintained. It was easy to get to and quite. I only stayed for one night, but I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I'd recommend for anyone to give it a chance. Being so close to the river was delightful and I'll be returning again in the future.

This was a great place to camp! We were at site 6, which is a vary large spot and the only one directly adjacent to the river. Apparently sometimes it gets too wet when the river is high, but we lucked out. Parking isn’t far away, but is up a hill. So beware of lots of heavy gear like we had. But that’s on us and they have wagons to use too. As of now, most of the logs for firewood around site 6 were too punky and damp, but we were fine buying some as stores are a quick trip away. Some poison ivy around, so keep your eyes open. General camping rule in any dispersed woods camping. They maintain trails nicely and some lovely walks around their acreage. We stayed Fri-Mon over Labor Day and it was a little noisy. But it’s a very popular time for large families to camp. In fact, 90% was from a large group with multiple small kids that ran screaming everywhere…all day and evening. But they were having fun and we weren’t mad about it. Marla (and Bingo) are so kind. She walked around to make sure we had everything we needed. We’ll definitely be returning. Thanks again, Marla!

We loved staying at this campground, it was unique and had lots of character! We stayed at the meadow site and liked being able to park by the spot. Having a flushing toilet a short walk away and an outdoor shower was super nice.

Nice campground nestled close to the St Mary’s River and just 12 minutes from downtown Fort Wayne. I went on a holiday weekend so all the sites were occupied. There are some sites that are close together and a couple more secluded sites. Marla was friendly and accommodating. Free firewood to gather was nice, and there’s plenty of it. There are string lights that run through the bulk of the campground, they all run on one extension cord. So it was kinda awkward to go around to other campers asking if we could kill the lights. I did wait until 11:00 to ask, it was all good. Just didn’t dig the vibe of everything lit up. Overall, great place. I’ll definitely be back on a less busy weekend. Also, a bonus to live in Ft Wayne and have this place so close for an impromptu overnight. Sidenote: there is a next door neighbor that likes to have band practice outdoors. They played The Boys are Back like six times in a row, turned up to eleven. They’re not great but that’s why they’re practicing 🤘🏼

What a perfect hidden gem nestled so close in fort wayne! Definitely wasn't sure what to expect but the tent sites exceeded every expectation and the host was accommodating, helpful, and everything in between to ensure our trip went as planned! It's very easy to see why this is such a popular location if you want to scratch that outdoor itch without leaving the city!

We really enjoyed camping at the River Camp. Sites were clean and spacious. You don't even feel like you are in the city. Marla is a great host! Definitely recommend to everyone!!

The property is well maintained and a great location - close to downtown. I had a quick overnight stay, but the site and area had lots to enjoy if you are staying for longer periods.

Marla's land is amazing. Our campsite is perfect - spacious, shaded, and with a great view of the river. The hiking trails are fantastic. We have enough firewood, a table to dine at, and the bathrooms are clean and fully stocked. An ideal place to camp and enjoy the nature. Host Marla is lovely!
