Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There is a porta potty near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you cannot drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) campsite in the case of property maintennance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc). All guests must be part of a registered group! Link to Trails Maps fwtrails.org Need to rent a bike or kayak: fwoutfitters.com/#

Not VANLIFE friendly. Messaged her and told her I live in my van . Upon arriving, I was greeted by a man who showed me back to my spot. It was on a gravel incline , with no camping area . Fire pit , chairs etc. He told me that my camp site was about 50 yards from my van , that I couldn’t go over there in my van . ( to muddy, get stuck) . So the first night I slept in my van , up against a property line with shrubs and all the mosquitoes and bees . On a gravel incline. The next day , I wanted to enjoy the spot that I had just spent 100 dollars on . There clearly was a path , solid and big enough for me to get over to my campsite. So I used it . ( see photos) I got over there and started a fire , for I had a campfire ring on site, and decided to relax for the first time and enjoy my visit . As I went to lay down , I heard a loud stern voice say “ Hey, hello” I came out of my van to find the same man whom escorted me back there standing behind my van. . ( he didn’t approach me from the front , and that creeped me out) He proceeded to raise his voice at me and say “ at no point did I tell you that you could move over here,! How sid you get back here?” I simply explained that there is a road that leads back there and I just wanted to utilize what I paid for . That I would never put myself or my van in any situation that was bad . There was some other words . I apologized and told him I’d move . So I did. Right back where I was the night before . I was very uncomfortable.

River camp is a wild, natural area just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Fort Wayne. It's amazing how remote it feels. Marla is a great host, and has kept the natural feel while having every convenience you would want while camping. I sat down on the river watching geese with goslings, and a Bald Eagle that was hunting for a relaxing evening.

We had such a great time camping and using their little cabin that has just about everything you would need to camp! Not only has a queen bed but also a twin bed for your kid's our two boys fit in it( 6 and 9 years old). My personal favorite is they think of all the stuff for your family to be comfortable! Their property is beautiful and my kids love playing in the river!!

The cabin is amazing. They have added a driveway to the cabin with a parking spot next to it. It is spacious, with a wood burning stove, electric, and water. There is a tv, dvd player, queen bed, twin bed, and a futon couch. The best part is the hosts are amazing.
