Home Sweet Home, tucked in the heart of agriculture and lake life, Angola is a wonderful small town in the north east corner of Indiana.  Songdog Meadows is our little piece of joy, from morning swims in the pond, long walks with our retrievers and sunsets to take your breath away, it is truly and deeply a treasure we cherish.  The property host a variety of apple trees, open grass land, and a large cluster of trees surrounding a 3/4 acre pond, while being surrounded by wood lots on three sides and open fields to the west.  It is truly a peaceful haven in a rural country area.  Learn more about this land: Hang your hammock or pitch a tent just outside our 3/4 acre pond. There are two basins with a channel and a peaceful tree filled grass area between. The pond is in the corner of the 10 acre lot where we live at the end of a dirt road with only a small amount of traffic. The camp site is walk in on mowed pathways, with the driveway and parking area less than 200 yards away. There is a security light so you will never be in complete darkness. A stone fire pit and picnic table sit just off shore of the swimming area of the pond. There are several wide mowed pathways surrounded by prairie grasses, shaded by large trees. The area can easily handle several tents, hammocks and small RVs. The area is rural farm land with a handful of houses on the short dirt road. But this property is surrounded by wood lots and open fields. Two neighbors houses are visible but separated by trees. Pull-in site
Please enter the property using the gate marked "Camp" and park along the wide mowed lane. Park along this path and walk to your desired camping area. Smaller vehicles can pull down to the pond in mid-summer but most of the year it is too wet to drive to the pond. Please use your own discretion. Larger RV's please contact us for additional information. Property maps are available upon request.

A cyclist’s secret.

It’s a must for cyclists with great routes every direction with every possible Indiana scenic flavor and cycling style. Nearby Highway twenty has wide shoulders. Beautiful camping grounds.

This was a nice spot with great water access which was important for us. The walking trails were well maintained and the option between the two sites were nice. Our time there was fairly quiet and relaxing.

We loved our stay! Our site was easy to get to and clean and prepped with firewood when we arrived. We tent camped with our 4 dogs and they absolutely loved the pond. One of the reasons we booked. The owner's respected our privacy and we knew they'd be accommodating if we needed them. We'd certainly stay again.

Songdog Meadow is a quiet and charming place. We arrived when it was already dark and left in the early morning so we didn’t see the place at daylight but we had a peaceful night there. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Peaceful Pond Getaway

Stayed here this past weekend with a friend and loved it! The site is beautifully maintained, right next to a peaceful pond. It feels secluded with very little road traffic, yet the owner is nearby if you need anything. The spot is thoughtfully set up with a swim area, campfire, picnic table, toilet bucket, bags, and even paper towels ready for use. Highly recommend for a relaxing, hassle-free camping getaway!

Wow! My boyfriend and I wanted a peaceful time away from home, and boy did we get it! The pond was so clean, the property so nicely kept, and we were even provided toilet paper, which we forgot, so that was a total bonus. PLENTY of firewood and we had a fire going most of our visit! We are going to try to come yearly on our anniversary for now on! Thanks for the amazing time!

My favorite place to camp so far, and I don't see how anywhere else will ever beat this. So peaceful and serene. Almost no traffic in the area, the pond was well kept, beautiful, and refreshing because we are end of season. Got nibbled by a frog which was a surprise. Firewood was plentiful and kept us warm at night. Thank you so much for letting us stay, we would really like to come back again.

I loved camping here. The property is beautiful! Easy to get to. Lots of amenities! The mosquitos by the pond weren't too bad, I'm assuming the 1 billion frogs in each pond eat them all. Just be careful where you set up your tent between the ponds. I staked mine down and then realized the tree above it was leaning significantly towards the tent. Luckily there wasn't any strong wind or storms that had me too worried. My dog loved running around off leash too!

Site was very nice with a great view of the pond, as well as great access to the water. There was a fire pit and picnic table and room for our 6-person tent. Paths are well mowed. It's only about 12 minutes into the city of Angola if you forget something. The frogs were very active, there are turtles and plenty of fish, and other wildlife as well.

The site was so beautiful and private!! I would definitely stay here again. The signage for parking was clear. The only thing I didn’t love was seeing the soap by the pond — even biodegradable and “natural” soaps aren’t good for the watershed and shouldn’t go directly into bodies of water.

We had the best stay at Songdog Meadow while traveling from PA to MT! Our favorite part was definitely the pond with the rock bottom - so well taken care of and so refreshing after a long travel day. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling through the area or someone who just wants a peaceful, nature filled getaway!

An Extraordinary Experience

Magical place! I arrived late at night and was greeted by the sound of frogs singing all around. Never experienced anything quite like that. The location felt very private and was well maintained, as well as beautiful. My dog, Bunny, had the time of her life hunting for frogs in the morning (she didn’t catch any- but she thought they were the coolest thing ever). Really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend it! Thank you for having me!

Great stay! Easy to find and a nice little retreat. The main house is visibility from the RV location, but if you’re tent camping it would be easy to get closer to the pond and have total privacy. Used the nearby KOA campground to dump tanks (17 min away). We have family in the area, so we’ll be back!

Was great but the house was super close, the hosts weren’t weird or anything but a window was in clear sight when I went to swim or enjoy the fire. Was private but not private. And the campsite was close to the road. It was a dead end road so not a lot of traffic. It was also very buggy, nothing anyone could do about that so bring bug spray!

Idyllic Midwestern Site!

I, my wife, and two dogs needed a quick place to roll into, get a good sleep, and roll out of on our second stop from WY to VA. Songdog was perfect! Beth answered my last minute message quickly and was very welcoming. We were pulling a 19’ off road trailer with our Land Cruiser and simply pulled straight into the gate and positioned the trailer so that it opened onto the nicely mowed path to one of the ponds. I meandered around that evening and the property is gorgeous; fantastic for tent camping. Though I’d REALLY suggest not in June…unless you own stock in Off! or permethrin! The mosquitoes were out in force, but we were able to escape into the trailer and enjoy a stunning sunset and be lulled to sleep by bullfrogs. The firefly show in the morning was like nothing I’ve ever seen. We’d, gladly, spend more time here if future travel permits! And don’t let the distance to the road fool you. I don’t recall a single vehicle ever driving by!
