Cattail Springs : The Roundtop

I had wonderful one night stay at Cattail Springs (The Cove). The campsite was very large with water access. The property is set up really nice with privacy in mind. The property is a perfect destination for a group camp as well. Cole came by to say hello and offer any assistance I needed. He showed me around and was an awesome host. Cole obviously takes a lot of pride in the property as it was clean and well maintained. I'll definitely be a regular at this property.

Great Stay at The Roundup!

I loved my stay at The Roundtop. It was a very comfortable glamper, with great view of the pond, and awesome screened porch. The fishing was good, and Cole/Janel were GREAT hosts. I especially liked the firewood, which made for a wonderfully relaxing stay. The were very attentive and friendly hosts! I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the cabin, called the Hollow. Excellent view very quiet dog friendly. The hosts were amazingly nice. I would recommend anybody that is wanting a nice quiet weekend to get away with a little bit of fishing and plenty of activities in the area check this place out.

Barrel ceiling aged to perfection

Imagine the smell of chestnut and cedar while you’re looking up at a architectural detail rarely seen, this was exactly our experience when we stayed in “Roundtop” The cabin has a barrel ceiling aged to perfection as if you are sipping on the finest bourbon. The rustic style cabin has a charming screened in porch with a view of the lake, a small couch and side table topped off with string lights. The main sleeping area has four windows with two windows that open inward a small table and refrigerator, two fans and a sweet note welcoming us to the space. What I appreciate is the absence of tv so that we experienced a true sense of connection. I also was very happy that we could bring our own bed and bedding, it’s like camping but with walls. Additionally, knowing who was coming and why, the hosts lovingly left us a rock painting kit. We booked a yoga session and it was fantastically led, super relaxing and totally worth it!!! We enjoyed the outdoor shower after swimming. The hand washing sink is a nice addition. Watched other guests catch fish, I even heard one person yell to their loved one that they caught four in a row. With so many ways to stay here, I know you won’t be disappointed!

Peaceful and relaxing camping trip!

My husband, my dad, and I all loved camping here! Cole and Janel were so kind and welcoming. We were new to Hipcamp and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great first experience. The Landing site was perfect for my dad’s teardrop camper with plenty of room leftover for my husband and I to tent camp. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing right from our campsite! Can’t wait to stay here again.

This is the perfect little oasis! The water was a perfect temp for a hot summer day, and the water was clean and clear. The sites were great, and the prooerty had a very homey feel. Even though we were near the interstate, we didn't notice any distracting road noise. The bird watching was great as well, if you're interested in that!

Cattail Springs : The Eagle's Nest

This is my second time staying here and first time with family. Just love this place. The access to the pond is amazing, the area is taken care of very well, and just is a great way to disconnect. We booked the Hollow and Round Top and it couldn’t have went better. Highly recommend!

Friendly and helpful host, beautiful property, convenient location. We enjoyed our time here! We had one side of the pond to ourselves the first full day and that was lovely. We enjoyed the morning, hanging on the dock with our dogs. WaWa is conveniently only a couple minutes away but there’s no light pollution. The owner appears to be putting a lot into upgrading what’s already a lovely spot.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Perfect relaxing weekend getaway! The site was beautiful, even with some floodinf from a storm a couple of days ago. Cole provided firewood and even helped us with driving some of our gear back to our car. Fishing was fun and definitely worth it. The site was close enough to food and gas stations which was convenient. We even took a slight detour one day to get some delicious ice cream at La Michoacana Coco which I highly recommend. We will definitely be back soon!

Cattail Springs : The Roundtop

To begin with they’ve put a lot of work into making the area welcoming to campers. We stayed at the Cove. It has direct access to the water I could go on and on about how nice the place is. The kids really enjoyed the location. Probably their most favorite part was swimming out to the floating dock. The hosts are welcoming and extremely helpful. When we got ready to leave, we had a flat tire. Cole came down with his equipment and helped get the tire changed. We will definitely go back again in the future.

We stayed in the round cabin rooftop and loved the site. The sunset over the fields was perfect too. The owner Cole made sure we had enough firewood for the night. Would highly recommend.

We loved camping at Cattail Springs! The Cove site is so nice and the porta potty was very clean. The interstate noise is noticeable but as long as you’re not sensitive to that sort of thing it’s not a big deal. The space is beautiful with lots of wildlife and the sites are nice and spread out. I’d definitely stay here again!

Great communication by the owner, they were helpful and even had wood for a fire set up after we booked it last minute. Took our cats with us and they definitely enjoyed the quiet outdoors times. Would highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

I had a great time here, very peaceful! I was there only camper for most of my stay, and Cole was very welcoming. He gave great instructions on how to find the place and checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed. The porta potty was clean, the scenery of the pond was great. Just what I needed! I hope to come back in the summer when the fields are growing - I came in early season before last frost. I definitely recommend this spot for a near-the-city but still away from it all stay!

I had a great experience at The Hollow at Cattail Springs! I was the only one onsite during my time there, so I had the whole place available to me. There was plenty of firewood so the fire stayed hot, I had complete access to the pond, and I had ample time of solitude which I was after. I couldn't recommend booking through Cole enough! He was there waiting for me when I arrived and was like talking to someone I had known for a long time. Thanks for the hospitality!

Super lovely campsite. My friend and I stayed here for a weekend for a little relaxing getaway. Although we didn't get to meet Cole it was such an enjoyable and welcoming stay. There was firewood at our campsite when we arrived and he had plenty in case you needed more(brought our own packs since we didn't know haha). But overall would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice private camp weekend. The Cove was wonderful and secluded and you could barely hear the highway at night. Overall 10/10!!!

The hideout was great! A large space to spread out and a beautiful view of the pond. Thoughtful additions, like well kept trails to ensure privacy, firewood, trash bins and a cart to get your gear to camp. Instructions were easy to follow and hosts were very communicative. Would stay again!

Very peaceful, you don’t even know you’re close to the road/highway! The grounds were very well kept and the pond had great fishing. Cole swung by and checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed! Very kind and personable. Would definitely recommend for a weekend camping trip!
