What once started in the mid 1800's as a 240 acre sugar maple tree farm is now our little 18 acres of heaven on earth. Our house was built on the property in 1875. The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's.We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas.2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, aTodd's Great Outdoor Bait Shop, and an engine repair shop. There are often festivals, open Music Jams and community events. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the early spring, wildlife, and birds to watch. There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. If you are just passing through or arriving late, let us know and we will be happy to have a campfire started for you. Accommodations can be made for group camping! What a beautiful and well cared-for space - from the beautiful rolling manicured pasture, to the private feeling of each camp, we enjoyed every inch of the property. Disc golf proved even more fun than expected. Our biggest treat was meeting Mary at the library as we toured the town on foot. Very walkable, shade throughout the property. Plentiful wild fruit including blackberries and endless mulberry trees. Great place for a night or a week. We're already finding events and planning trips that will bring us back.

Had a great weekend tent camping here. Plenty of space and choices where to setup our tents and they had a healthy supply of firewood readily available! Definitely plan on coming back for more camping. Easy to get to and was able to easily drive right up to the campsite to make unloading/loading a breeze.

Loved it!

This was my first solo camp trip with my animals. It was the perfect spot to kick off my camping season. Marick acres is beautiful and well kept. Rick and Mary are easy to get in contact with if ever needed. My dog loved roaming around the property off leash, as we had the place to ourselves. We were surrounded by birds. It was amazing, wish I planned for more than one night! I plan to return in the future!

Lovely place, great host

The host, Mary, was very communicative, friendly and clear. She met us moments after we drove up, and guided us to our site; she stayed for a few minutes to orient us and answer questions. The site was clean, mowed and lovely. We could see 3 other groups of campers, and hear them somewhat, but we were all spread out just right. The outhouse was clean and supplied with soft tp, thank you! We were there for 2 days around the total eclipse, and the farm was the perfect place to view that. Notably, they did not raise their rates to try to gouge visitors. We enjoyed being serenaded by the blackbirds and various frogs at the pond.
