Liz and Curtis’ property is a must see. The tent is large, private, and decorated beautifully. There is very little you need to bring with you besides food and clothing. They supply the rest - firewood (for a very reasonable cost), drinking water, chairs, and cookware. They also have a small shop where you can obtain other food and gorgeous items from their farm. Interacting with the animals and hearing their chatter throughout the day is an additional perk.

Pony Hill Glamp at Dancing the Land
Our experience at Pony Hill Glamp was ... challenging. Much of that was not the fault of the owners, though there were some basic things they could have done to make the situation better but did not.
I planned our trip long in advance because we have a toddler and don't have a lot of free 3-day weekends in the summer. Unfortunately, this meant that the weather was miserably hot. I called a few days before our trip to see how ventilated the tent was and was reassured that it was well ventilated. This turned out not to be true. We couldn't comfortably hang out in the tent, even late in the evening. The problem with that was, first, our 2 year old goes to bed really early and doesn't understand why it's so hot. Second, my wife reacts severely to mosquito bites, so sitting around outside at dusk wasn't great. I had thought the big tent and the kitchen tent would make camping with these issues easier, but it just didn't work out. (The kitchen tent was a great set-up, though it was in need of repair so did not keep the bugs out much.)
Then there was the farm tour. I love what they are doing with the land and admire all of the work they've put into it. I really would have liked to see more of it. We mostly stood around watching Curtis milk goats. He is a fascinating person, so this wasn't unpleasant, but again, not great for a squirmy toddler who was promised pigs and chickens.
Basically, the whole experience was fine, it just wasn't what we had hoped for or anticipated.

I was extremely disappointed with Pony Hill. The hosts were kind enough to let us change our reservation, but after that it went down hill fast! Our first impression was not good: the buildings and surrounding grounds were covered in junk! The “farm store” which we were told had fresh eggs, vegetables and other things available (the cooler was almost empty) was also full of junk. And the bathroom was disgusting! My daughter and I chose not to brush our teeth that night because it was so gross. The host showed us to the glamping tent, (which did sit next to a pretty meadow) and said that the main screen door zipper was broken. Another window screen was broken, which made it pretty stuffy inside. When we asked about the fire pit, the host said “ya, we didn’t post it on the site, but there’s a fire ban,” which I understand, but letting us know would have been nice. He then told us that they had to cancel our farm animal outing because he was going to a farmer’s market. (I still haven’t been reimbursed.) My daughter had really been looking forward to it. I cannot recommend this place at all!! This is the only negative review I’ve left for any airbnb/Vrbo as every other one we have stayed in pays attention to detail and cleanliness. It was (obviously) a very disappointing stay!

This was such a fun and unique stay! The yurt is in a relatively private area. The kitchen tent had just the right amount of basics to use. The yurt was decorated beautifully but the screen door wasn’t able to zip because a previous guest had broken it. Because of that, bugs had definitely gotten into the tent but they were mostly at the top. The bed was very clean. The owners were very helpful in helping us navigate the market which had lots of fun things. Overall it was a really pleasant stay and we’d definitely go again!

Thank you Liz and Curtis for your hospitality. We had a very pleasant and memorable time staying with you. This was such a nice break in the middle of our road trip. The site was clean and nicely set up. The tent was so nice that it was easy to forget you were out in nature. The sounds of the farm and the calls of the peacocks made for a very enchanting time. Thank you, we will be back again

Being so immersed in nature was refreshing. I loved waking up to the sounds of farm animals and insects each morning. The tent was cozy and aesthetic! Curtis and Liz were very nice and welcoming hosts.

A great low-cost option with a beautiful garden view. Fresh water available on the campsite. Sunset over the trees while reading a book was perfect. Lots of mosquitoes this time of year, so bring your bug spray. The breakfast sausages from the farm store are easily the best I’ve ever had. An incredible way to start the day. The pastured eggs made some incredible French toast too. The farm will make you jealous of a “simpler” time. The sketchy cell coverage was a blessing.

We loved our time at Liz & Curtis’ place! We were warmly greeted and showed our campsite along with useful tips utilizing the space. The tent was spacious and had wonderful touches that made it comfortable. Our toddler had so much fun playing within the tent. Having the cooking area, plates & utensils, and camp chairs removed the stress of having to pack and setup those things. A nice plus was having the 24 hr access general store and getting to meet the lovely goats! We would definitely recommend their place!

A lovely glamping experience! The surrounding nature was gorgeous and the tent/kitchen/firepit very well thought out. We spent a night with our 3 month old and 3 year old and had a blast!

I loved the glamping experience here. This was our first time to try a glamping, but it was more comfortable than expected. Everything is equipped and also Liz and Courtis were very kind and responsive. I highly recommend this place.

So cozy and peaceful. Spacious yurt style tent with the most comfortable bed ever . Also a fire pit and a little tent with a stove and picnic table. I booked this to get out of the city and sometimes it’s nice to not have to bring any gear but reap the benefits of off the grid nature time . This was perfect.

Beautiful site on a lovely farm. Hosts very accommodating of late night arrival. I would have been grateful for more specific description of amenities in site summary on Hipcamp. There was a port-o-potty and a hose tap for “toilet” and “potable water”. There were also empty beer bottles on table at entrance to two tent sites. Sometimes, all of this fits in to a perfect trip, for us this time and on this trip, we may have made a different choice.

Book this tent! You won’t be disappointed.
We got into town WAY later than expected and Curtis still met us with a smile. The hospitality was just as warm as the blankets in the tent. The night got chilly but we stayed perfectly warm the entire time.
The land is stunning and animals galore! Such a perfect pit stop on our road trip.

If it hadn’t rained I think we would have had a good time. But unfortunately the tent leaked in a thunderstorm and we got pretty wet- it wasn’t waterproof. The canvas also had some mold. The setting is very pretty tho!

We loved our time at Dancing the Land! Communication with Curtis was great. The tent was magical, beautifully decorated and so much room, peaceful and relaxing. The cooking tent had all the practical things we needed, and more. A flush toilet a few minutes away was a really nice surprise! Sounds of chickens and roosters are to be expected at a working farm and didn't stop us from sleeping in at all. The stars were amazing, we enjoyed our fire in the evening and morning! Thanks for a beautiful get away we won't forget. Ten out of five stars!

We had an amazing time! Our campsite was next to the farm and it was so cool to see all the veggies growing! The goats were also very cute. Liz and Curtis also brought us some paper and sticks to help us with our fire which was very sweet. They also recommended some great hiking spots at St. John’s. We loved it and would definetly recommend!

Our stay at Liz and Curtis's farm was great! The tent was spacious and comfortable with all the comforts needed for a nice night away, but still enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. A fire pit and chairs for a camp fire, a propane cooktop and plenty of dishes/utensils available in the separate screen tent. Liz and Curtis also run a farm store and publishing company where you can stock up on farm fresh produce, eggs and meat, as well as a large variety of books by local authors. I would gladly stay here again and look forward to doing so in the future!
Fair warning, the roosters do make a fair amount of noise, but nothing unexpected when staying on a working farm (bring ear plugs if you think you'll be bothered). But we also heard what we figured were coyotes late in the evening, which was a fun experience for us "city folks." The farm is in a rural area, so cell reception is spotty (again, to be expected).

We had a wonderful night at Liz and Curtis’s farm! The campsite was perfect; we were surrounded by beautiful flower and vegetable gardens in the fields and we fell asleep listening to the loons. It was so peaceful and a great spot to watch the sunset and sunrise. Liz and Curtis were both very helpful and super nice. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re traveling through!

This experience was incredible for my boyfriend and I. Having a busy summer working in Minneapolis lead to a very needed escape from the buzz and this was exactly what we needed! A night of pure silence outside of beautiful sounds of nature, in a beautifully decorated tent, reading poetry and enjoying time disconnected from our phones.

Arrived in my 23-foot class B, with Curtis (I assume) saying they aren't set up for a vehicle, but he would show me where I could park it. Led me up the road to a field where there were veggies and flowers and put us in the mowed driveway. Showed us a hose and a portapotty and said he'd check on us in the morning. Overnight dozens of goats and sheep visited, having escaped their pasture further up the road. We saw no other animals, nor did we see a gift shop or meet Elizabeth. In the morning I walked among the plantings and then he came and gave me a tour of what I'd just seen. Then we left. That was it. I don't recommend buying the $15 tour and I don't recommend the dispersed camping there. Maybe it's nicer if you stay in their tent, according to the other reviews.

Liz is awesome and super welcoming. Answered all our questions before and during our stay. Tent/yurt is decorated so cool and def felt like glamping inside! Loved hearing all the farm animals versus a typical campground where you hear loud camping neighbors or generators from RVs (but like others have said, if that’s not for you, just bring earplugs). New little shop to buy books, yarn, meat, eggs, and more. Fun last minute overnight close to the cities to just hop on the motorcycle without having to pack anything! Thanks Liz!
