Great place if you’re looking for somewhere to camp and just relax in the north shore! Very friendly and fun environment! Beach is very close by so you can cold plunge in Lake Superior!

Me and my dogs had such a great time here. The spot is huge, you definitely don't need to worry about space. The beach is just a short little walk away. It felt totally private and secluded, I didn't see any other people during my 2 day stay. I would absolutely recommend and absolutely come back

Fantastic spot tucked away from everything. Clean, nice fire pit, and a wide open camp spot. I enjoyed it, I’m fairly sure the deer weren’t pleased I was there though! Awesome spot.

Weekend Trip to Amnicon Adventures & Retreats

We enjoyed "roughing it" in the tent at Amnicon. Checking in and out was easy. The tent was as advertised, so we just made a decision to be okay with no electricity, running water, and a few bugs, and we had a positive experience. You do have to be prepared to walk 15-20 minutes out to the tent site, but the camp provided hand carts to transport supplies from the parking lot to the campground. We followed the sounds of the waves through a short path in the woods and found the view of Lake Superior on the shoreline, it was very peaceful and quiet, we LOVED it! You can't quite see the shoreline from your campsite, but you can hear the waves crashing on the shore from your tent, a great way to fall asleep and wake up. This was BY FAR the most affordable option for our trip in the Duluth area, so we were happy to do a little extra walking in order to make our trip to the area attractions possible for our family. 3 nights at Sunset Bay Getaway

If you’re looking for a loud cramped campground with trailers and tents on top of each other and you can hear the neighbors talking then you won’t enjoy this site. But if you want a true slice of paradise in God’s country with privacy and solitude then this is the place. Not having WiFi, TV, or phone service for a couple of days was truly remarkable relaxing experience. We played games, talked, watched the Bald Eagles and listened to the loons. Sheila our camp host was very accommodating and made us feel welcome and at home. We hope that we have the opportunity to revisit “Sunset Bay”

Weekend Trip to Amnicon Adventures & Retreats

We enjoyed our time, how private the camp sites were, the maintained trails, access to toilets and showers. Our kids want to go back for a week the next time (and there will be a next time) we go up. We also liked that we could find our own fire wood or go to the wood shed to get some.

Weekend Trip to Sailor Springs Glamping

We absolutely loved this site. The outdoor shower was a highlight—peaceful, refreshing, and a perfect way to enjoy the natural setting. The campfire being right next to the tent made evenings feel extra special. The tent itself was spacious and thoughtfully set up, with a super comfy bed that made for great sleep. The structure around the tent—including the decking underneath and the metal roof—really added to our sense of safety and comfort, especially when a gnarly storm rolled through. Everything held up beautifully, and we felt secure and dry the whole time. Abe was awesome to work with! We had one site booked for a night and another for two nights, and he made the transition between them incredibly easy. He also checked in on us after a storm passed through and stayed responsive via the app whenever we had questions. You can tell he really cares about making sure campers have a good experience. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy some true quiet time in nature!

4 nights at Twisting Twig Gardens and Orchard

We had fun staying at the yurt! It was fabulous to have a full kitchen setup complete with fridge, a light, a fan, and an outlet. Outhouse was nice too. Bugs were heavy and the path to the BR could use a solar light or 2. Overall, highly recommend this to those who need more than a tent but less than a cabin.

1 night at Sailor Springs Glamping

Exactly what we were looking for—very remote, peaceful, and private. The hike to the site was clearly communicated in advance, so we were prepared, but it was moderately challenging, especially with gear. The hill down to the fire pit was a little tricky when the dirt was wet, but the beautiful, secluded setting made it well worth the effort. The cabin was spotless, super cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Abe was awesome to work with! We had one site booked for a night and another for two nights, and he made the transition between them incredibly easy. He also checked in on us after a storm passed through and stayed responsive via the app whenever we had questions. You can tell he really cares about making sure campers have a good experience. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy some true quiet time in nature!

1 night at Superior Beach Camp

This camp site was amazing! We loved the open grass area for camping and the short walk to the beach. The private beach was a huge selling point- and it didn’t disappoint. It was perfect for our dogs! The owners were super communicative and had great instructions.

Weekend Trip to Nóatún Community Wooden Boat Works

We stayed two nights over the weekend. John welcomed us & showed us around. He is a great resource & has a wealth of knowledge regarding folk & indigenous traditions as well as the surrounding area. The space is great for straightforward tent camping. The tent site is on the lakeside of the property, quiet & protected from the wind. We were able to park in the driveway & use a wagon to cart our gear to the back. The beach & river are both in quick walking distance, which was amazing! Come prepared to be self-sufficient including drinking water. We utilized the portapotties at the beach access parking lot next door as well as the restroom at the marina, which also has a shower that we didn’t use. Both bathroom options are walkable & convenient. The resident goats are a hoot & so friendly. They even did well with our dogs over time. We would certainly camp here again!

Weekend Trip to Chanterelle Woods Preserve

We absolutely loved Christal’s campsite. The site was beautiful and the tent was perfect, already set up with cots and a carpet on the floor. More importantly, Christal was such an incredibly kind and gracious host. We ended up not showing up to the site until 1:30 in the morning and not only was she extremely understanding and accommodating, she waited up for us so that she could show us to our tent and couldn’t have been nicer upon our arrival. Finally, the site is in an amazing location, only a 5 minute drive from Bayfield’s main commercial street. I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone looking to camp near Bayfield!

Weekend Trip to Superior Beach Camp

Beautiful views of Lake Superior, nice wide open and flat site. Lots of things nearby to do, or just stay and enjoy!

4 nights at Superior Beach Camp

We had a very nice stay at Superior beach camp. There is nothing better than an (almost) private beach on Lake Superior. The path down to the lake including the ladder/steps worked out better than I expected. Very clean Port-a-Potty and very private site with space for our dogs to run. The fire pit, grill and picnic table were nicely set up for us when we arrived also. Matt was very nice, he even sent a message letting us know there was a possibility of Northern Lights from the north during our stay.

We had a great stay. The space is well maintained. It felt very private and it was tidy when we got there. It has an easy access to the the lake. The beach is beautiful. We would stay here again.
