Located just down from Bayview Beach, our property sits nestled between Lake Superior and the Onion River, which runs through the property just behind the cabin. You will have a private beach on Lake Superior all to yourself. While neighbors may be around from time to time, especially on weekends, you will not have to share anything but the sound of waves hitting the shore and birds chirping as the sun sets in the west. You can set up a tent by the cabin or on the beach side in the grass or sand areas—or even on the beach itself if you'd like to catch a sunrise. There is also room for an RV, teardrop trailer, or camper van, if that's what you'd like to bring. A fire ring and firewood are provided, along with some chairs. Kayaks are available after booking for a fee, but you are responsible for safe operation and for understanding when weather conditions are not suitable for their use. At this time, the cabin is not included or open for use, nor is there power available for outside hookups. There is no running water (besides the river and Lake Superior), and no toilets on site. However, you will pass public toilets on your way in—they are roughly 90 seconds away by car. Otherwise, you are responsible for bringing a camp toilet. Pets are welcome but must be leashed when others are around and well-behaved. Please dispose of waste properly and respect the natural surroundings. We've had this property since my siblings and I were kids, so please be respectful of the property and neighbors and treat others as you would like to be treated in return. You should not be bothered by anyone. Please practice pack-in/pack-out and clean up after yourselves. Beyond that, nearby attractions include the city of Bayfield and the Apostle Islands, a short 15-minute drive away. Bayfield, Wisconsin, is a breathtaking destination that serves as the gateway to the Apostle Islands. Whether you are seeking adventure on the water, a peaceful retreat in nature, or a taste of local charm, this lakeside gem has something for everyone. Here is an overview of the area and some top attractions to add to your itinerary: Must-Visit Attractions & Activities: • Apostle Islands National Lakeshore: You cannot miss this stunning archipelago. Explore the 21 islands and mainland sea caves by kayak, water taxi, or scenic cruise. It is arguably the most iconic experience in the region. • Madeline Island: Just a short scenic ferry ride from Bayfield, this is the largest of the Apostle Islands. Peaceful bliss!

This is 2 pieces of land separated by a very quiet, gravel, park road. The neighborhood has some homes in it but is very quiet & peaceful. The private, sandy beach on this property is massive and gives you stunning views of sunrise over Madeline Island with a bonfire pit. There are shade trees over the beach (but look out for flies on still days). We brought 2 dogs & were able to walk them barefoot, off-leash on the beach every day--our 8-year-old crazy dog became calm, quiet, and sociable while here! The kayaks were much appreciated & allowed paddling from the Onion River behind the cabin into the bay on Lake Superior. What else? There are loons to watch at night & occasional sail boats in the morning. The yard behind the beach is quiet large--we set up a croquet in the sand volleyball court. The level of peace & gorgeous scenery here are unparalleled.

We thought the site was beautiful. A unique experience to be right on the beach however we probably wouldn't pay the price again. I think most Hipcampers would agree especially since the host can't offer potable water or a toilet. Also a 2 nite min will put off a lot of people. The site was clean and offered as much privacy as you would expect on a nice sand beach.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this campsite! It is perfectly located just 10 minutes outside of town. You get the peace and quiet of nature without being far from Bayfield's shops and restaurants.The highlight of the camp was definitely the sandy beach. It provided the ultimate spot to relax during the day and catch stunning views. The entire campsite felt very private. We had plenty of space to stretch out and set up camp. It is truly the perfect place to camp and have fun with friends or family.Whether you want to build a campfire, swim, or just hang out with your favorite people, this spot has it all. We will definitely be back

Beautiful tent camping spot! We very much enjoyed hanging out at the beach for a couple of days, watching the wildlife, taking in the sunsets, and gazing at the stars. Absolutely would do it again!

Fantastic beach, well-maintained. Large property with an open, sandy beachfront for campfires and relaxing! The back of the property has a beautiful, serene creek passing through with lots of wildlife. Gorgeous property all around, it’s not every day that Lake Superior is at your fingertips!
