Weekend Trip to Simplicity @Top Of The Hill Huskies
This spot is a truly perfect off-grid getaway. I couldn't have asked for a more prepared or inviting experience.
The host went above and beyond by having the wood stove prepped and ready for immediate use, along with some initial firewood provided. Since the temperature dropped into the 30s, I did burn through two bundles of wood over the course of the night to stay warm (which worked perfectly, with the fire only needing restarting once!).
The cabin itself is a cozy sanctuary, and it was exactly the recharge I needed. I am already wanting my next trip back!
Future visitors: If you're staying during cold weather, be prepared for at least two bundles of wood to last the night. Also, I highly recommend bringing a good camping lantern with you, a flashlight felt a little weak for lighting the whole space.

34 ft fifth wheel
What a beautiful property! We loved camping in an oak grove in the fall time - golden and heavenly! The lake was beautiful, and even though it's the weather wasn't conducive to swimming, we thoroughly enjoyed reading on the dock. Everything about the site was as described and made camping with our 34' fifth wheel a breeze. We will be back!

We had a lovely time staying here. The little shack was so cute and cozy. Everything was very well taken care of and clean. We absolutely plan on staying here again in the future. Waking up to the sunrise in the large window was truly beautiful.

We had a wonderful weekend at Diana’s place! Everything we could’ve needed was provided, and the location was easy to find. She was kind enough to let us meet her dogs and made sure the mud on the trail was covered each day. Definitely will be coming back again!

This place was perfect - a cozy Midwest romantic getaway, as my boyfriend called it. We stayed in the orange tiny house, which had two beds, and an indoor fireplace which kept us warm at night. Diane provided us with plenty firewood and had other cooking utensils if needed. The stars were beautiful at night as well which was an added plus. We loved how private and cozy the stay was. We plan to come back again next month! Thank you Diane!

Clean, simple, quaint structure, clean outhouse, fabulous view, perceived privacy (minus the dogs being run through which was absolutely no big deal when they did come by), my dogs were off leash and had lots to explore, 10/10 would return

We enjoyed our stay at Jenifer's wonderful property immensely. Setup is easy - even with a larger rig. It's so easy to get caught up and loose track of time watching what all the natural surroundings have to offer - absolutely beautiful and so relaxing!

The shed is a great little spot! Clean and comfortable. Was a bit muddy to get there, but not a big deal if you have all wheel drive. It is in the woods, a little mud is expected after rain. Nice to walk with my dog off-leash on the trails they use for the dog sledding. You can hear the huskies sometimes, but they were silent thru out the entire night. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and be back myself sometime!

We had the most magical fall getaway in the forests of Upper Wisconsin, it was absolute paradise! 🍂 We stayed in the adorable cabin, which was cozy perfection with super comfy beds and lovely bedding. The stove was such a treat. We accidentally got it way too hot and had to air it out, but it made the cabin feel extra warm and romantic.
Our pup Leslie loved being off-leash and exploring the property, and the short, beautiful walking trails they carved out were perfect for peaceful strolls. We also loved that there’s so much great hiking nearby if you want to drive out and explore. Even with a rainy weekend, it was perfect to snuggle up in the cabin and enjoy the sounds of birds, ducks, coyotes, and the friendly huskies on site.
The nearby town of Eagle River is so charming, we could almost plan another trip just to hang out there! The host was perfect: super responsive but gave us total privacy to enjoy our solitude. Highly recommend for anyone craving cozy comfort, fall colors, and complete relaxation!

Excellent experience. Truly private cabin/shack tucked away on host's land. Wood stove made it incredibly cozy and the host was kind enough to stock firewood for us to use. Beautiful forest to hike in and hearing the dogs howling as a pack at night was unique delight.

Love it here! It was our second time and will be back. The lot is so nice and such a great location. Awesome trail just a mile down the road and so much to do in Trego and Spooner. Definitely check out Strongman Smokehouse and brewery!

1 night at Northern Lights Cabin
Absolutely loved the space. Tucked away and got a good taste of what life (almost off grid) was like. The outdoor shower was a fun and the night sky was beautiful as we sat around the fire. There’s a boat and kayak at the end of the trail to take out on the little lake nearby. Close to so much but far enough where it was peaceful.

This place is perfect! Private, cozy, with beautiful views and the sounds of nature. It was fun hearing the huskies off in the distance, owls at night, and seeing a few turkey and deer during the day. Our dogs were just as happy to have time away from “the city”. The wood furnace kept us toasty in the cooler evenings and the beds were snuggly with plenty of blankets and pillows. 10/10 will be returning.

Diane was such a sweet host! She let me borrow her ATV to get from the “shed” to my car and even let me ride it around on the trails for fun. The “shed” was also very comfortable! The bed was great and I loved the window looking out into the field. I would recommend this stay to anyone and will definitely return next time I’m in the area.

Group trip
We really enjoyed the Northern Lights Campground. It is close enough to everything you need and somehow super remote! We had so much fun on the lake with the canoe & kayak. We saw a whole flock of swans. Plus, the view of the sky was just what we were looking for! Eric was very helpful communication wise and answered all questions timely. We would definitely stay again in future years.
