Ice Age Forest Site "Big Aspen"
Great spot
We tent camped at the big aspen space. It was great. There is a community toilet on site. Was very quiet and tucked away. There was firewood there to use though we bought our own we ended up using some. Close to ice age trail and trout farm. Went to Apple orchard barn winery and duesterhaus brewery. Would definitely stay there again.

I loved how beautiful and secluded Chris's land was! It was welcoming and all of the directions on Hipcamp were clear and accurate. I'm very grateful for the rustic toilet, fire pit set up, and overall sanctuary that this campground provided! I would totally stop again whenever I'm passing through. !

This is a quaint place to camp at with few frills that's nice and rugged.

A Pleasant Site & Stay
Visited Big Aspen this past weekend. Nice large site with partial shade; however, watch out for ant nests! With strategic placement of the tent and camp chairs, we were good. Site is well positioned a distance from the second site on the land. We appreciated having the composting toilet and water spigot accessible. Sawdust could use a refill in the toilet shelter. Only off element was communication with the host (no acknowledgement of 1st message when asking about firewood and dismissive response on the 2nd message when we thanked him for a pleasant stay). Would still recommend to people!

Beautiful spot! Very convenient for getting to the Emma Carlin and John Muir trails, and for a concert at Alpine Valley. Appreciated the water spigot, loved that it was clean, and my husband was inspired by the toilet w/sawdust system as a simpler alternative to a chemical toilet at his family's hunting shack. If you were hoping to be way out in remote wilderness, know that there is noise from the road, though you can't see it at all. Didn't bother us since we were there for the convenience to a few favorite places.

Serenity
I liked how private it was even though there was houses all around pretty secluded with all the trees. It made me feel like I was alone even though hip camp says there's a couple other sites nearby I saw no sign of them but I'm sure they must be there most of the pictures on hit camp was of these site but I saw no signs of them not even the posted signs that talked about the trail don't know what to think about that. Though they must be there somewhere but I liked it if you're looking for something primitive like I was without anybody around at that time it was I had no neighbors and it's what this caregiver needed at the time to recoup thanks Chris
