On the upper Bad River, I have a special location that I'd like to share for others to enjoy. I was fortunate to acquire this land 20 years ago and now that I have retired from the United States Air Force, I can dedicate time to create peaceful campsites along the river. This land was originally railroad property as the railroad companies bought much land in the late 1800's to have options to place their railroads. There is still a railroad track nearby but it has been unused since 2015 and it makes a nice hiking path along the river for many miles to the north into the national forest. There are 3 waterfalls nearby and I will have many signs leading to the waterfalls. There are 4 total campsites on the property, 1 site you can drive to (Eagle Pines), and 3 tent sites that require 1/8 mile hike to 2 sites, and a 1/4 mile hike to the other hike-in site. There is no leash required for good pups. If your pup is aggressive with other dogs or people please leash them when on the hiking trails. If your pups would stay in your campsite no leash is required. Other campers may be hiking past your campsite on the trails that is still over 100 feet away from others campsites. You may run into others on the trails where others dogs may not be leashed. If your dog is aggressive to other dogs even if yours is on leash if you can’t control them please muzzle them. Having avoided glacial drift during the last ice age, the Driftless area boast beautiful valleys, bluffs and rolling hills that you won't find anywhere well in Wisconsin. A temporary membership is included in camping fees and goes toward environmental conservation work and maintaining grounds, free wifi, etc. Our 20 acre property boast 3,500 feet of stream-front class 1 trout fishing on the West Fork of the Kickapoo (a top 100 trout stream in the US). Our entire stretch of stream is fully improved and excellent to fish. We have a healthy native brown trout population. We work with a local school science program to raise and stock brook trout every year. We have resident Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Oriels, Willow Fly Catchers, Hummingbirds and many other avian species. Nestled between two valleys, we frequently have stunning sunsets. We are far enough way from light pollution to easily see the Milky Way Galaxy on a clear night. The star gazing is amazing and if you keep your eyes up at night, you're pretty much guaranteed to see a shooting star, if not multiple. The West Fork Sport Club is truly a special campground. We're a short 15 minute drive from Viroqua which has a lot of great local shops, the Driftless Café (Owned and operated by Wisconsin Foodie host Luke Zahm) and a fantastic farmer's market. We're 25 minutes from Wild Cat Mountain which has extensive hiking trails. There are also two great vineyards within 15 minutes. I'm located between Wisconsin Dells and Lyndon Station on a cozy little 3-acre corner lot at the intersection of Highway 12 and Oak Glen Circle. The property is mostly wooded with beautiful white oak trees that I've done my best to preserve. Each year, I welcome nesting bluebirds, robins, and ruby-throated hummingbirds. You'll also find several bird feeders that attract a wide variety of songbirds, along with squirrels, rabbits, and woodchucks that call the property home. Please note: I do have neighboring homes nearby, but it's a very quiet neighborhood of homeowners with no noisy renters. Please also note that as the host, I do live on property. I offer you your privacy but on occasion you may see me outside doing random chores on property. Please also note I have 2 dogs. They are very friendly animals and it's very possible at some point during your stay they may introduce themselves to you. Thankyou for understanding. Nearby Attractions Wisconsin Dells – Just 3 miles away, offering endless attractions, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. We are in Driftless Southwest Wisconsin - gorgeous hills and quilted cropland bisected by oak woods and switchback rivers. Pitch your tent, park a small camper/rv, or stay in one of our three vintage campers. You will share an indoor bathroom, or our open-to-the-sky hot outdoor shower, and an outdoor sink with other campers. We serve a pick-up community breakfast with coffee and tea. We have a Cedar Sauna you can reserve. This is easy camping with a view of the stars, nestled in a farm-to-table farm community with lots of goods to buy. We LOVE our Driftless neighborhood in SW Wisconsin and can recommend many amazing activities for everyone from fisherman to families! We're close to shopping, antiquing, Amishing and good eating. We're within a half hour of 3 great rail trails, two state parks and one amazing ATV rental. Go to an old-fashioned drive in movie, a local farmers market, dirt-track stock care races, tractor pulls, a u-pick apple farm or a Toy Train Museum. Go kayaking, boating or biking - you can rent what you need. Or sit on one of the porches to watch the chickens peck and the pigs dig. We can't wait to introduce you to all the livestock, cats, our Great Pyrr Willie and our Border Heeler Dolly! We are a five minute walk from our cute downtown with a playground, library and several great places to eat. Ten minutes from New Glarus Brewery. A half hour from Mineral Point (Fall Art Tour), Mount Horeb (Troll Way), Dodgeville (House on the Rock) and Monroe (Cheese Days). Fifteen minutes from hiking, fishing and boating at Yellowstone Lake State Park. Campfire with s'mores every night, coffee and scones in the morning. Wifi is reliable on some spots on the property, and a sure thing on the front breakfast porch. We do require a two-night minimum to stay in the campers. Tent camping we have no minimum. Terra Growers is a 100 year-old certified organic family farm located in Springfield WI near Madison. We keep bees, raise free-range chickens and Mangalitsa pigs, and cultivate an extensive variety of orchards, berries and vegetables. Terra Growers features campsites, drive-up and RV sites, and an on-farm store that is open year-round. River's Edge is a four season adventure company in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, outfitting adventurers with equipment and guidance. The property is located on the Manitowish River, Heart of Vilas County bike trail, and Iron County snowmobile trails. By car we're about eight minutes from WinMan Trails, ten minutes from MECCA Trails and Mercer, three minutes from Manitowish Waters. As we're right on the bike path, riding to lunch or dinner is easy, with lots of yummy options close by. We have two campsites on our property, primarily for adventurers looking for a central basecamp location from which to go do all the fun things we have available in the Northwoods. Campsites are located on the west end of the property, in proximity to all the activities, and include full hookups, a picnic table and fire ring. Site One is closest to the river and bike path. It's more secluded and separate from the main lodge area. Of the two sites, this is the best if you plan to hang around camp and chill. It does have trees lining the parking space, so if you have a trailer above 11'-13' be careful backing in. Site Two is right off of the main parking area next to the lodge building. While we're working on natural barrier growth, it is kind of in the middle of activity during our busy seasons. It is, however, the easiest to back into with a large trailer. If you're looking for a convenient place to bring your RV or trailer and don't mind being less secluded, this is for you. If you're looking for a national forest experience, this is not for you. The main lodge is open for use until 10pm-ish. There are couches, tables and board games available for guests. A bathroom is available for campers in the lodge, however there is no shower. We highly recommend The Manitowish Waters Athletic Club for shower facilities, hot tub, and pool. Day passes are reasonably priced and the facility is extremely well appointed. It's about three minutes by car or ten by bike. Campers get a discount on rental equipment. Wifi is available in the lodge. Our sites are open year-round, although water service will be turned off when temps are below freezing.

Nice quiet campground. Bonus was seeing and hearing the loons. The waterfront site was nice, but the brush and small trees blocked the main view. A bit of brush trimming would make a huge difference. Other than that, the site was grassy, clean and full of sun.

If you are looking for a campground that is private wilderness on a lake but full amenities, this is the place to go! Lots of all sizes, full hook ups, shower on site, clean, right on the lake, some sites with your own dock, quiet, family friendly, most of the site are level, and it’s a gated access! I had site 23 which was not level, but very large with a clear view of the lake. For two woman and 2 dogs, this place was safe and friendly. Don’t forget your bug spray!

We pulled in with a little vintage trailer, young lady that was on duty that night took care of us put us in our spot brought us wood. She was quite Pleasant and efficient. The amenities were clean and well taken care of, we understand new management is just taking over and it is making changes and we like the Direction the park is going in. We will definitely stay here again if we are in this area again.
