Leon&#x27;s Lakeview Campground

We stayed on site two which looked over Lake Winnebago and beautiful sunsets. The site was freshly cut and the firewood plentiful. This is a great place to relax and unwind. Leon was very helpful with directions before arriving.

Leon is the best host and this is our favorite ever camping location. Quiet, gorgeous views and close to great beaches. We will continue coming back. This is our third visit here.

Camping at Leon’s!

My stay with Leon was great, had some trouble getting to our site and he was very helpful with getting us there, and as for our stay the site was huge with a great view of the sunrise and lots of privacy would highly recommend and will be coming back

We had a wonderful time at Leon’s campsite. The site is just beautiful…and very private. Leon was an excellent host and even helped us figure out a solution to an issue we had with a lithium battery generator that died on us. I highly recommend and would happily stay there again!

I thoroughly enjoyed at Leon's Campground. He was kind enough to reach out by phone shortly after booking to explain in great detail how to get to the site, which was well marked. I had site 1 that sat on top of the hill, overlooking Lake Winnebago, and the sunsets were stunning! Also got to watch a storm roll in from the West my first night, which was a welcome bonus. Firewood was provided and shortly after getting the fire going, we had a doe come visit our site as it strolled on past. I know, we're camping but have to point out how clean, well manicured, and freshly mowed the site was with thick grass. Much better than the dirty sites I'm accustomed to when camping. Was able to hangout on the ground with my dog and we stayed relatively clean due to the thick turf. Best part, hardly any bugs! Since the campground is on a hill, there's usually a steady breeze keeping the mosquitoes at bay. Only encountered bugs for a couple hours one evening when the wind died down but still no mosquitoes. I thought about not leaving a review to keep this gem hidden but Leon deserved a great review. I don't get out to camp as much as I'd like but when I do get out, I'll be checking this one again!

A geologic gem!

Been camping here many times always a pleasure. The geology of this location is something very interesting. It’s on Niagara escarpment. The outcropping is Silurian Dolomite. Basically sediment of an ancient sea floor that geologist think was at one time located near the equator that migrated due to plate techtonic shifts.

We loved camping on Leon's land. It is the perfect spot for camping with dogs. Secluded, plenty of space and a great lake view. Very clean, plenty off firewood - great host!

Great tent camping, peaceful!

We spent 2 nights (tent camping) at Site 3 and loved it. A perfect getaway from the city. There is some road noise that can be heard, but aside from that it is extremely private and quite peaceful. The natural prairie with trails was a great activity to walk through (tons of butterflies!). Host was very responsive. Firewood was provided (thank you!). Will definitely return, this is such a gem of a place.

Stayed at site 1, beautiful, clean, and secluded. A little tight getting up with my full size van and teardrop, but just enough room on the trail up to make it work. Definitely planning on returning.

The views at Leon's campground were wonderful! We were really pleased with the amount of space we had. The land was well cared for and free of weeds. I highly recommend staying here for tent camping in the area.

Had a fantastic time at Leon's Lakeview Campground. Site 1 was absolutely perfect — stunning views of both the sunrise and sunset. Wouldn't change a thing. Leon was incredibly responsive and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay and are already planning to come back

Airshow Hide Out

Stayed here twice now. This last time we came to the area for the EAA AirVenture Airshow in Oshkosh, directly across Lake Winnebago from this spot. It’s a very nice, well kept property, in a private setting. An easy and pleasant 40 minute drive to the Airport in Oshkosh…close enough to be convenient, far enough to escape the crush of the pre/post-show crowds. Great views of the lake and the surrounding farm land. As a bonus there are good several restaurants (Gobbler’s Knob Supper Club) and coffee (Mudd River Coffee) relatively close by. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful place! Leon was very responsive and quick to respond to our needs. Make sure to take time to walk the trails! So peaceful. We stayed at Site 3. It was very private. A barred owl was curious about us and stared at us for awhile. I would definitely stay here again should I be in the area.
