Bad River Point
Camping at Bad Rivers Point is an absolute must! The site is clean, well taken care of, and has the few amenities you need to make a trip out in the woods. The walk back and forth from parking to the site was as expected and not a hassle bringing food to and from. Dean is an outstanding man that stopped by to say hello (upon request). He knows the area and is a great source of information. He was quick to respond over text which was greatly appreciated. I WILL be visiting the coming year!

Picturesque
Beautiful & easy to find, with lots of firewood on site for only $15! The dogs were barking a bit so if that’s an issue I would not recommend but they are keeping other animals away so it was a fair trade for us.

Amazing
Dean’s land is amazing! Our campsite was right next to the water with a beautiful view. Everything was clearly mapped out for us. He communicated efficiently. I would definitely come back.

This spot is really something special. We had such a wonderful time exploring the trails and waterfalls, paddling in the canoe, and fishing at multiple spots along the river. We’re so grateful to Dean for making this place available to others! We’ll definitely be back in spring to experience it all again in a different season.

Amazing site!
Beautiful, primitive site in a great location! Well-worth the hike in! Dean’s description is spot-on and he was an excellent host-very friendly & easy to contact when we had questions. I would recommend any of the three sites Dean has to offer to anyone looking for an amazing northern Wisconsin experience, without the crowds. I’ve already booked another trip for next year.
The Drop Tine bar is close and has very good food, too.
Finally, please be good to the birch trees- don’t be a lazy ass. There are plenty of downed birch, if you need to scavenge bark… if you can walk all the way in to the site, you can walk thirty feet into the woods to look for fire-starting material. Dean shouldn’t have to write notes on the trees with a sharpie.

I loved the seclusion and freedom to let our dogs off leash! They loved it and our husky loved being on the dock! Very much enjoyed! Would go back 100%

Beautiful, quiet campsite
We had a great time on Dean’s property! We brought our camper trailer and our two toddlers (4 and 2) and we would definitely return! The site is beautiful, spacious, and right by the water. Dean has it all set up and ready for when you arrive. We hiked to the waterfalls, swam in them, fished, swam by the dock at the campsite, used the canoe to try and catch some bigger trout… all sorts of fun. One afternoon we made the short drive to Copper State park and hiked around on their trails and we also drove up to Ashland day to show the girls the big lake. Would definitely recommend if you like being in a rural setting without neighbors nearby.

The scenery and seclusion was perfect. Loved the "live edge" picnic table. Too bad it didn't fit in the car, lol.

Camped with friends and dogs
Beautiful place to camp and we were able to bring our dogs. We came for our friends’ preweddding camping trip and had an amazing time. The river is amazing. So many frogs- I loved it. My dogs were able to take a dip in the river whenever they wanted to. Plenty of space to hike and walk and hang out in the river.

LOVED this spot! Highly recommend.
What an awesome location. Private spot, right on the river, canoe available to paddle, private hiking trail along river, and a great host. We live full time in our camper and decided this might have been our favorite campsite to date. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

This site is amazing, the river is beautiful, and the host is super friendly and accommodating. It’s a bit of a stretch saying it sleeps 12 - we fit 12, but it was a tight fit. Still recommend 10/10!

Thank you thank you. Thank you.
A treasured spot. Frogs, chipmunks, red squirrels, an osprey, flycatchers, turtles, herons, ducks, lots of minnows, and a few fish. Our doggie had a lot of entertainment from the grouse we found on the trails. Great fun watching the chipmunk and red squirrel harvest pinecones from the enormous grandmother pine and eat pine nuts. Few insects. Chairs and a picnic table! Only caution: our doggie is covered in creosote from the railroad ties. Beauty and solitude abound. Clambering in the pools of the first falls in the hot weather is refreshing. River is cool but not cold. Some deeper pools.

This might be the best Hipcamp ever! Extremely clean and spacious, extremely quiet, and Dean provided everything we needed. Loved the hike in the waterfalls in the canoe adventure on the river. I would definitely recommend this.

Great experience
Gorgeous camping site right on the Bad River in the beautiful North Woods! Dean was an excellent host: friendly, attentive yet respectful of our privacy.
We hiked to the 2 waterfalls and the trail was well marked, a bit steep in spots but we did just fine (including our 14 year old husky shepherd!) and it felt like a mini adventure right on the property.
During our 3 night stay we found ZERO ticks on us + our dog, and the mosquitos weren't bad at all. Had some rain the last night and Dean thoughtfully brought us dry kindling. The only thing that wasn't 10/10 was the neighbor's dogs barking — they really go at it a few times a day and then seem to calm down but Dean says it keeps bears away, so perhaps a good thing :)
Thanks again, we'll be back!

Relaxing view.
When we first arrived, I noticed how well kept it was. The directions were clear if you read them. :) I didn't want to leave. Wood is there just put your money in the box and you have plenty on hand. The hiking trails to the falls are well marked. Dean is very responsive if you need anything or have issues. I would like to spread the word but I really want to keep this to myself so I can be sure its not taken when I want to come again. Well worth the 4 hour drive.

Campsite was amazing. Dean is a great host! We arrived late and he was kind enough to meet us at droptine and guide us. Helped us haul everything to our campsite and started the fire, even provided wood!! Best part is your dogs can be off leash!! Which they absolutely loved!! Can’t wait to come back again! Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic site!! Very large, we had 3 large tents and 1 small on the site plus a small camper and room enough for another tent. Lots of room. Very secluded. Nice supply of fire wood priced reasonable. If you choose to stay here you will be impressed.
