The English Pale Campground and Resort is located along the Black River in Jackson County, 1 mile west of the Village of Melrose. The entire property only allows guests and occupants who are 21 or older. The main campground is 70 feet above the river., We have 4 rustic RV/Travel Trailer/Tent sites, a fully furnished “Manor” House, a travel trailer as well as 2 rustic beach sites that are located along the river. The property is a total of 70 acres, which includes the 4+ acre beach, a mile of river front and trails through the woods that connect them all. The English Pale opened in 2021 and is growing property that offers a reasonable expectation of privacy. We are an adult only property, but not a nudist campground. We do not prohibit our guests from nudity for the purpose of sunbathing on the beach, campsites or sundeck, but nudity is not allowed in general common areas. R4 English Pale Campground Rustic

Immaculate campsite!

A few of us stayed at campsite #4 on the beach and it was a great time! Cal is extremely accommodating with transportation to camp, chopped firewood, ice, and even alcohol if you want. We weathered rain for almost 2 days, but Cal made sure to come down and check on us and warned us of potential flooding. The river was amazing and us and our dogs had the best time! We even had a double rainbow right on the river.

Sunset Trailer 07 Camper

My husband and I stayed on Cals property and we had a great time. We stayed in a camper which was clean and comfortable. The other campers by us were quiet so that was nice!! There were towns close by to do hiking and enjoy shopping and restaurants

B21 English Pale Campground

Our favorite campground yet!

This is our second year in a row visiting this campground and this year we brought friends and next year we’ll bring more! This campground has everything and the beach is incredible. Cal is a wonderful host! He’s kind, funny and you can tell he loves what he does. 10/10 and we will definitely be back.

R4 English Pale Campground Rustic

Jaw dropping private camping

I spent the weekend with six friends on Cal's land. His daughter helped us carry our gear in a gator to our rustic campsite and delivered us firewood after a rainy night. The path down to the site was hilly and sandy so the gator helped immensely. We were fortunate to be the only campers on the entire property, so we camped right on the beach. We saw huge turtles and caught fish down river a bit and were able to be loud without bothering anyone. The beach is huge and soft and beautiful. The shower, which was a bit of a hike from the beach had great hot water and there was a super clean portapotty there too. Janelle was prompt with communication and made the stay seamless. This place is a hidden gem and I was so surprised it wasn't busier. The entire property is beautiful. The rustic sites are super sandy so pitching a tent with stakes is a little difficult but using driftwood and rock tiedowns worked well. Bugs were of course out but manageable. Overall could not recommend enough and had a great time!
