Justin Trails Resort, LLC

The campsite was basically in a frisbee golf course. We stayed at campsite #4, which was hard to find- we had to call the hostess twice for directions. The map provided was pointless as it had the tiniest letters we’d ever seen- it did not even have our Campsite #4 listed despite all the very confusing jumbled numbers, arrows and text so small you’d need a magnifying glass to read. After driving along a frisbee golf fareway, we found what we assumed was our campsite (no signs anywhere). The fire pit was inside an oversized metal wheel and its walls that went so high that it blocked the heat from the fire. The description claimed “ Split, dried wood, and kindling are included.” however there was no kindling to be found. The ground was not level which made for a slow slide into the tent wall. There was one small level area where a tent could possibly be pitched but it would’ve had to have been right up against the oversized fire pit, which would have been too close to the fire. The complex is used for events and various things, so it’s not like this is a dedicated campsite- more-like they figured out how to make a few extra bucks by cramming some campers in. There is also highway noise. We had an ATV drive by our campsite at 3:00am and had walkers at dusk and again in the morning near us. I would not recommend this place.

Was there over the weekend and it was all to myself. This driftless region has valleys which makes it more interesting and exciting. The campground is in pristine condition. The bathrooms were clean. They have lots of trails that takes you up the mountain and around. Donna’s daughter is an amazing host. Will definitely return.

Camping with two off-leash pups

We had reserved campsite number 4, but when we arrived we were told that somebody was already on that spot. They had other sites available and we ended up at a site by the 13th disc golf hole. I was a little frustrated to start that we didn't get our original choice and that the site we had was like a third of a mile from a porta potty. But what started frustrating they more than made up for with the incredible scenery. Our site was pretty remote which is what we wanted so that our dogs could be off leash and free without concern because we have one reactive dog. They were off leash the entire time running through the woods and having the time of their life. It was so incredibly peaceful and we only crossed paths with maybe three sets of disc golfers playing the course. Other than that it felt like we had the place to ourselves. They do have really big shower /bathroom situation in their nice barn that we experienced on our way out.

Absolutely would recommend Justin’s Trails. Came in late and was extremely well taken care of. Breakfast was fabulous. Dogs had a chance to exercise after traveling cooped up for a long time l. Great people- lovely accommodations! Ask about the player piano!

Well loved the site! Easy check in, Donna was really friendly, very easy to get to. Tent pad was mostly flat, nice big fire pit, picnic table was nice, outhouse was nice and clean, lots of space to walk! The barn bathrooms were really nice as well. Was a really good spot for the price!

Camping Cabin

Several times during our one night stay, different people in our group expressed how beautiful the scenery was and how comfortable the camp site was. There were 4 of us in 4 cars, with three tents and the site was spacious enough where we never felt on top of each other. The next night we all stayed at another location in IL, and the whole group lamented that it didn’t have the features we had during our stay here. The night sky views were also amazing and I’d imagine it would be quite the destination if you wanted to see the fall colors. If we find ourselves in the area again, we would 100% stay

Beautifully kept farm off the beaten path and has everything you need. The Snuggalo was as I had hoped - like a sheep wagon - in its own pasture with fire ring and super cozy. The trails are ample and the proximity to the state bike trails are great! Breakfast is phenomenal. I had no idea the variety of accommodation they have and for our next family gathering I'm going to suggest staying at Justin Trails!!

Worked great for our purposes! We just slept in our suv coverted for sleeping. The insite Porta potty was clean the the available showers/bathrooms (not used) were also clean and had plenty of room for you.

Way better than we anticipated

Wow! This place is incredible. If you like peace and quiet, beautiful rolling hills, quaint, and lovely hosting with the option of a delicious breakfast in the morning then this is the place for you. Absolutely will be back. Donna is a wonderful host and this property is just something special. Also, even if you don’t play disc golf, grab some discs and go play those courses. Beautiful landscapes galore.

The Snuggalo is waiting for you!

I stayed in the Snuggalo! What a cute, unique way to stay. I brought my own air mattress but there is a sleeping pad provided so you don’t need to bring one. Love that there were llamas right outside. A short walk gets you to the bathrooms and they were private rooms each with their own shower and toilet. Very nice. There’s a porta potty right outside by the Snuggalo. The grounds are fabulous and the buildings are all so charming and full of character but also top notch craftsmanship. You can tell the family takes pride in the place and has worked hard to make it what it is today! I highly recommend a stay at Justin Trails. It will be my go-to place whenever I pass through Sparta.

Beautiful Property Great Hosts

This is a beautiful property and I had a secluded campsite - #4 I believe - that really felt like I was miles away from anyone. My hosts were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure I was happy with my site. It's not too far from Rt. 90, gas, food, etc. I would definitely stay again if I were in that area!

Pure magic

This place is pure magic. We stayed at campsite 4, and felt like we had a private 200 acres to ourselves to soak in the amazing views of the driftless on the 4th of July weekend! We came to ride the Elroy Sparta trail, and this was an amazing launching spot. Cannot wait to return.

I was looking to tent camp with my dog somewhere between Tomah and La Crosse, WI. I found this location to be a good geographical fit. There are plenty of well-maintained trails on the property, as well as beautiful scenery. A lot of hard work has gone into this property. This resort offers a good variety of activities and lodging. The only thing is that, upon arrival, it seemed like I got a cold reception, as though the host had more pressing matters to attend to. Suggestions for the host: Have numbered campsites maps handy for guests to take, or step outside for a moment and point them to their site (rather than pointing through windows from inside). Also, have numbered site markers. This would help to put a newbie at ease, knowing he's welcome and at the right spot. I appreciate the opportunity to have stayed the night. My dog and I had a great time exploring the trails.

Just-In-heaven

Absolutely amazing place! We stayed in a private camp site with no one in sight. Our campsite had a tracker rim for a fire ring so we could build a big fire to keep us warm on the cold fall nights. Fire wood is dry and available by the office and barn next to some cute lamas. The camp site had a picnic table, little Coleman grill, a porto potty and log benches. It was the nicest camp site Ive been to on hipcamp. We didn’t go folfing but the course is huge and it was fun watching people as the played. We spent a whole day just hiking the property. Over every hill there is a new beautiful view of the majestic driftless hills and Valleys. One day we drove 20 minutes to a class 1 trout stream and had a great day fishing. I highly recommend Justin Hills Resort. I will definitely be back.

Cozy Snuggalo Disc Retreat

I arrived in the evening, around 8pm, starting off a trip to Wyoming! The snuggalo was a great choice for me due to my later arrival, and I would love to try the teepee at some point. Very clean, no bugs, and a soft, comfortable sleeping pad. Check in was easy, Donna and her staff are very friendly and accommodating. I wish I had more time on this trip to take in all that the property has to offer. Since I had to leave early, I didn't get a chance to have breakfast, play the disc golf courses, and spend time with the llamas. I will definitely come back to play the courses and explore this beautiful area with some friends.

Mowed grass camping! 👍🏼

We stayed at site 1 and it was exactly as we expected. We essentially had our own port-o to ourselves. It was far enough away not to be an eyesore but close enough to be really convenient. We have a large 10 yo pup and he could roam all around our campsite off leash without any troubles. The grass is cut low on the property so this was exactly why we choose this for our dog. It worked out great. There was a second camp site about 200 feet up the valley from us so while there is another site nearby it still felt quite private. We went over Labor Day weekend and had shade from trees most of the day. Some reviews tell you to watch out for disc golfers. True but we enjoyed sporadically saying hi to those that came past our camp.
