Hey there Happy Campers! We welcome you to our small slice of Driftless heaven. This private campsite is located in prairie land, surrounded by agricultural and wooded property (it’s quiet). Within a few minutes drive you have access to some of the best trout streams a fishing license can buy. You're also in close proximity to amazing hiking and biking trails, agri-tourism (apple pickin' good times!), endless photography opportunities, wineries, birding, stargazing and visits to downtown Viroqua! After a long day of adventuring, come back to this quiet retreat, make some brandy old fashions and enjoy the ambiance of the stars and crackling camp fire! This site can accommodate 2 large tents with plenty of room for a camp kitchen, fire pit and seating area. There is newly constructed composting style outbuilding (please read instructions before using it) and a camp kitchen table along with solar powered lighting. Firewood and other supplies are conveniently available in downtown Viroqua. Be sure to check out the various retailers and restaurants while you're there! During Summer wild parsnip and giant hogweed are blooming all around the Driftless. While it’s pretty to look at, please use caution and limit any contact. (Google both so you know how to identify it) PRO TIP: You’re camping in prairie land, so an EZ Up style canopy is recommended if you plan to spend time at camp during the day. We hope you enjoy the campsite and we just ask to please leave it as good or better than you found it! - Cheers

Composting toilet. Newly installed compost style toilet. The urine diverter keeps the outbuilding stink-free and easy to maintain. We've left detailed instructions on how to use the toilet system. If you're not comfortable using it, there are bathroom facilities located in Viroqua. (9 minute drive)
Pets allowed
On leash. Please respect neighbor’s property and keep the pups close by.
Showers available
Cold water only. Setup for a BYO solar shower, but we also have a 5 gallon container that can be filled with warm water. Spare TP, wipes, and sanitizer are stored in the outbuilding. La Farge County Park also has a nice bathroom and shower facility (bring 4 quarters).

Beautiful location! The fireflies were amazing, and I enjoyed the visiting cows. It's right by a gravel road but there wasn't a lot of traffic. Very close to a Class 1 trout stream!

10/10 For dirtbaggin fishermen it has everything we needed. The outhouse is very simple and works great for what it is and there is a vestibule that acts as a little shower room of sorts. The picnic table is clutch but my favorite part was the cooking platform setup. Just a heads up bring some shade or sun shelter if you want to stay out of the elements. Communication with the host was fast and very helpful! We camped out of our trucks and there was enough space for both to be on level ground and room for us to chill out. I would not hesitate to stay again.

This was a really nice spot. It was very secluded with almost no traffic on the road. I especially liked the string lights the host put up. I heard owls and coyotes in the distance.

The site is located in such a peaceful area and we were greeted by cows throughout the day! Travis had a nice picnic table, outdoor lights, and wall barrier to help with the wind! Great stay!

Fairly private site. It is next to a not well traveled gravel road. No shade, so if you're planning on hanging out at the site during the day, bring a canopy. Very responsive owner.

I had a great experience tent camping here at Turtle head, hiking at Kickapoo Valley Reserve, visiting a winery, and enjoying an indulgently delicious tenderloin dinner at the driftless cafe in Viroqua. The camp site is off a quiet gravel road (minimal traffic, great for a run) nestled between two hills and easily navigable. The bathroom/shower set up are so convenient, just BYO soap and water. The string lights bring a cozy aesthetic to the campsite. My only downside was that the ground is very lumpy and slightly uneven so consider bringing extra padding or an air mattress if you’re tent camping.

Great spot near Viroqua. I was looking for a place to bike from that was near some gravel roads and this spot was easy for access to a route. It was on a quiet gravel road. It had the basic things I needed. Unfortunately there was a burn ban when I was there so I couldn't have a campfire, but I was glad I was informed of that before I went.

The site itself is awesome! I definitely would recommend for SMALL trailers and vehicles with 4x4 for the dirt road if it's not nice out. The outhouse is awesome, I don't have to worry about falling over!

S-Camp offers a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful slice of the Driftless to set up shop for the evening. I found it cozy, quaint, and well-equipped with the camping essentials, including a nice picnic table, an additional table for staging things, a firepit, and a nice little outhouse. Travis is an excellent host as well. I'd recommend this site for sure!

Loved tent camping at this place! Bring a sun shelter in the summer months as there is no shade and in a meadow with an incline. Neighbors were all very nice and could see the fish in the trout stream right up the road. We will be back!

Nothing can be improved. It was unbelievably quiet and private. I had above and beyond communication from the host when some bad weather rolled in. He managed to contact me despite having zero cell coverage out there.

We had a fun visit to S-Camp. The Driftless Region has so much to offer and this site was quiet and centrally located to neat shops in Viroqua and easy 50 min drive to Wyalusing State Park (boat rentals) and Prairie du Chien. Don’t miss Pete’s Hamburgers in the warmer months. The property had plenty of space for our 5 adults, 1 dog, 2 sleeping tents, and screened in tent. The biodegradable toilet and shower were well designed. We’ll be back.
