Heritage Hills
6 sites · RVs, Tents21 acres · Ishpeming, MIHeritage Hills isn't called Heritage Hills for nothing! It's situated on 21 acres of what was the original Wawonowin Country Club, a 9-hole golf course that was built in the early 1800s and then closed in the mid 1960s. This area was boom town in those early days because the very spot where iron ore was discovered is within walking distance! You are free to explore by foot, bike or horse the whole 800 acres between Ishpeming and Negaunee (and further if you would like!) and expedience this diverse area of hardwoods, pines, meadows and some wetlands, too, to discover many historical spots of interest. We can provide a map if you would like to explore on your own, or put together a special tour by wagon or horse to see top points of interest like Mathews Cross: a big steel cross mounted in a big rock about 600 some feet up, erected by historian Frank Mathews in  honor of all the miners who died. You can walk around Union Park originally built for the Green Bay packer team (now the Packers) to play the Ishpeming/Negaunee football team but later a horse harness race track where Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show performed! Explore areas of old mines, and where Iron ore was discovered: the Iron Ore Heritage trail is nearby, too. It's a 48 mile walking & biking trail with historical points and old shafts and pits along that way - it goes all the way to Lake Superior if you dare go that far! Heritage Hills came to be 8 years ago as 'Heritage Hills Horseback Riding' where we did just that - lots of horseback riding with guided horseback rides for the public! We still do a few limited public trail rides and, of course, have horses and ponies on the property, but we do so much more:* Wagon rides in summer & sleigh rides in winter.* Horse camps for kids and adults every Friday in the summer.* We are certified in the EAGALA model of equine assisted psychotherapy along with a learning technique with horses called Horse Powered Reading.

Sage Campground
5 sites · RVs3 acres · MIThe property is wooded, swampy when it’s rainy, and a mostly flat cut grass area. It can be muddy in spots at times. We have chickens, goats and a lot of dogs that bark. Tractors and vehicles and neighbors on bikes and ATVs go by regularly. It’s mostly peaceful and we love it here. Our house is under renovation and you can see signs of that on the exterior. You must clean up after your dogs. Keep your campsite area clean and free from piles of your belongings or trash.

Lynx Run Wilderness Retreat
8 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents100 acres · Stanwood, MIMy property (Lynx Run) has an amazing geological and historical background. During the last ice age, glacial waters carved out the ravine in which the Betts Creek flows.  Sometimes, the creek drops over 60 feet below the surrounding terrain as it meanders back and forth in oxbows as it flows toward the Muskegon River.  It was once the hunting, foraging and camping grounds of the Potawatami Indians.  In the late 1800's it was at the center of the Michigan Timber Industry.  Running along the edge of my property is the old railroad bed where timber was once hauled away.  Only two miles from my home, the logs were sent down the side of the hill and into the Muskegon River on log chutes and then floated to where the Muskegon empties into Lake Michigan.  Piles of field stones indicate that after the timber industry moved on, farmers moved in and attempted to tame the land.  But, fortunately for me, the land was abandoned by the farmers and has returned to a much more natural and pristine state.  My land is now a part of the Manistee National Forest and I am surrounded by thousands of acres of beautiful land (both public and private).  I am the only person who lives back here in this part of the forest, so seclusion and privacy are wonderful and the wildlife and beauty is abundant.

Harvest Village - Farmstay
6 sites · Lodging, RVs10 acres · Le Roy, MIYour Hosts - Dan and Arlene Cool: “We served as missionaries in South America for over 20 years. Our first assignment was in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, primarily at a school for missionary children, teaching Bible classes (Dan) and helping to start up and run a hot lunch program (Arlene). After this we ministered in Paraguay for 10 years. Our final years of missionary service were in Chile where we founded a missionary training school to train Chilean missionaries. Latin American students that we helped train are now serving around the world bringing hope and the Gospel to needy people. Harvest Village helps to support the ministries of our former students. We are excited to enter this new stage of our lives and to share our family’s centennial farm with people interested in healthier living and farm vacationing.”Your stay at Harvest Village helps bring hope to the hopeless; We set aside $1 /per guest, per night, to help our former students who are serving as missionaries in some of the neediest places around the world.

Mulln-Heim Vineyards
2 sites · RVs, Tents100 acres · Baroda, MIThis is a 3rd generation "Family Farm" of a different sort I suppose. Seems there's a bit of everything here, and arguably not enough of anything. At least for conventional farming. So we've learned to do things a bit differently. Our main crop is wine and juice grapes since our topography, climate, and soil type makes it a premier location for that. But with 30+ acres of forested hillsides, low ground, and natural areas we've evolved into a mixed farm and forest enterprise. Our goal is to utilize the productivity of all our property while still retaining the basic character and usefulness of the wild areas. Letting each thing be what it wants to be and does best on it's own. Flow, not force. So our year starts early with tapping maple trees and making maple syrup. Plus there's grape trimming about this time as well. When the forest floor starts to green up a bit later, we start digging Ramps, or Wild Leeks in the woods. Most of these will go to the more trendy Chicago restaurants, but we also have some local sales. Next comes inoculating winter-cut logs with Shiitake spawn for next years mushroom production. This year we also conducted a few hands-on workshop seminars on mushroom growing as well. Then it's on to our raised bed herb & veggie gardens. (Fresh herbs are just so much fun to cook with!) We grow enough for our own yearly use, as well as some for direct sales. Summer keeps us busy tending all the different crops here and trying to keep up. But there's that steady progression of fresh veggies to eat. Yum !!! Fall brings our annual Grape U-Pick in September and October. And we try to time related crops like mums, pumpkins, and gourds for this same time frame. Makes the place a bit more interesting. Late fall is when we bring in firewood to heat the house and workshop. Stacks of wood everywhere. Hopefully before the 1st snow. In winter it's time to fire up the woodworking shop and be a bit creative. Build furniture, equipment maintenance, who knows what next years projects will include. I like to keep everybody guessing. So, that's what goes on here. You're welcome to check it out, lend a hand, relax back at camp, walk the vineyards and/or forest, or just breathe and relax. That's up to you. But I would recommend visiting a few of the fine local wineries. Seems there's a festival going on at one or another of them just about every weekend. Good music, good wine, good times. And there's the Lake Michigan beaches a few miles down the road.Yeah, this is a pretty casual place here, love meeting new people, very open to civil discussions of all sorts. However, rude, ill mannered people will probably enjoy staying elsewhere. Just say'n.

Sand Lily Farms
2 sites · RVs, Tents9 acres · Pullman, MI30 years ago this land was used to pack and store onions and carrots.  The farm hand manager lived where the barn bathroom is. The property is just south of the Allegan state game area, where mint was grown around 1900. The owner AM Todd created the double distilled mint process and sold it to wrigley for double mint gum.

One Grand Place
9 sites · RVs, Tents2 acres · Robinson Township, MIWelcome to our little slice of heaven along the Grand River in Grand Haven, Michigan. Voted #3 in the best places to visit in 2022. This property is at the end of a private road and has three adjoining waterfront parcels that have been in the family for decades that we fondly refer to as One Grand Place. Family still lives on one of the parcels but we are excited to be sharing the other 2 parcels with all of you. Please Note: we are not a commercial campground or a business. One parcel is a fully improved lot with full hookup, on a cement pad, parallel to the river. The other adjacent parcel at the very far west end of the property is a large grassy area with electric and water only. RV must be self contained. Each parcel can accommodate 1 RV (travel trailer, camper van, pop up, etc) with plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like. It is your very own private home away from home. If you don't have an RV and want to still come and visit, no problem. Rent one of ours. Tenters also welcome. Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and is surrounded by natural wetlands. Perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy the fresh air and picture perfect sunsets. Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few of the things to enjoy on the water. Bring your own boat, jet ski, kayak or rent from nearby establishments. One of many public boat launches is just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou County Park has a kayak specific boat launch. You can also drop them in at the very west end of our property right from shore. Hiking, biking and wildlife, bird/eagle watching are also in the area. Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away. Holland is about 30 minutes south and also has a cute downtown, craft beers, and beaches. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 20 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is only 30 minutes North in Muskegon. There are also many wineries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan. And many blueberry farms around too. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

RV camping in Michigan couldn’t be easier. With more than 10,000 lakes and more state parks and forests than any other state—your next outdoor adventure is always just a short drive away. Set out along the wild Upper Peninsula where you can park your rig right by the sand dunes in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore or road trip along the remote Keweenaw Peninsula. Ludington State Park Beach, Silver Lake State Park, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore have plenty of RV camping along the shores of Lake Michigan, and are hotspots for family campers through summer. If you’re heading Detroit way, one of the best RV campgrounds is found at Sterling State Park on the shore of Lake Erie. Fifteen state park campgrounds stay open through winter, but equip your RV with snow chains and pack your snowshoes, as snow blankets most of the state from November through March.
