Absolutely couldn't even imagine a better camping adventure than my times at Shivering Timbers Family Camp. I played chicken with myself and drove from the shores of Lake Erie up to Paradise, solo, and camped in a tent, when I never camped in a tent other than my own front yard. I was greeted so warmly, the boys brought out my firewood and I enjoyed learning about the history of the site, their plans on expanding, and the heart behind the family run dream. It was perfect for me, the larger state grounds kind of intimidate me with the amount of people everywhere, but at Shivering Timbers you get a spacious site, peace and quiet, and the feeling of belonging. After telling me the prettiest spots to see, I was told if I run into any trouble..get lost what have you, to just reach out and they would help me. That's a wonderful feeling for a girl camping alone, when I have never visited the UP prior. The site was pristine, zero bugs bothered me, even the bathroom was super clean and smelled lovely. Showers were only a few mins drive away as well. They are in the middle of all the breathtakingly beautiful spots, and the woods surrounding the sites were just as beautiful. I had a tent side view of the milkyway to boot. Don't think twice just go!! You're soul with thank you. They are just the best, most authentic caring people that get excited about nature with you. I'll bee back soon and yearly for sure. Couldn't stop smiling the whole time, it was everything a camper could dream of!

If you are going to Tahquamenon Falls (or anywhere near it) and enjoy rustic camping with amenities nearby. THIS IS IT! You won’t be disappointed!! Stephanie and Tim make you feel part of their family. Their hospitality is top notch. Their campground is perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle.They have lawn games set up and a family friendly environment. There is so much to do in the area and day trips to Munising are easy! No showers? No problem. The state park is close enough to use the showers. No need to look further. Book the site. And enjoy your vacation ✨

My wife, toddler, and I went on our first camping trip together and stayed here - and let me just say I’m so glad we picked Shivering Timbers to stay! The hosts were amazing and waaaay accommodating. There are activities for kids, little and older alike that i definitely didn’t expect from a campsite! My toddler said she didn’t want to go do our activities - she wanted to go to the campground and play with the kids LOL! I hope we come back soon! Thanks again! :)

We absolutely loved staying here, it was the perfect location for our trip so convenient and close to everything we wanted to see! Stephanie and Tim were the nicest people ever and made us feel sooooo welcome, they gave us lots of recommendations on things to do and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Literally would come back and stay here just to see them! The site itself was spacious and quiet and made for very relaxing tent camping. 100000% recommend this campsite! (P.S. there’s wild blueberries everywhere which is so fun)

We had a wonderful time. Quietest night camping, hosts are great, blueberries were yummy. We didn’t camp on a weekend, which might be why it wasn’t crowded. It was lovely.

Lovely campground! The entrance was easy to find to get to the campgrounds, it was a spacious spot for us to put up our tent, and they even had a game center on the grounds to play yard games in. Bonus points was the very lovely check in where you can pay and they deliver firewood for you. 10/10 would camp here again.

We used the campsite as a Basecamp for 3 nights. Very conveniently located to Tahquamemon Falls, Whitefish Point and Seney National Wildlife Preserve. Very nice host. When we were there, it was also very quiet. I would recommend if you are in the area.

Loved tent camping at Shivering Pines! Much quieter than busy state park campgrounds. Beautiful area close to everything. Sites are well maintained and clean. The campground had firewood, yard games, brochures for local attractions, even a little free lending library. Hosts are friendly and flexible. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was so nice, when we checked in they gave us a bag of stuff and it came with one of the colored fire packs. Stephanie was so nice to us she told use about some things we could do in the area, that turned out to be really nice. I would come back and stay here again… they are so close to the falls we went 3 times when we stayed.

Quiet. Rustic. Wood available. Large campsites. We were there for 4 nights, hosts made themselves available and welcoming. We will camp there again. It was in the middle of where we wanted to be. We really didnt want to be in hustle and bustle of the state campsites and this fit the bill.

Stephanie was a fantastic host, very friendly and knowledgeable. Campsite was as advertised, quite roomy as well, plenty of space and a fire ring. Having a picnic table was convenient as well. Only downside really was the mosquitoes were terrible but that’s not anything against the host, just MI summer. We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful and quiet!

The stay was wonderful, very helpful on local activities! We stayed on site 10, which was a nice location. The only downside was there was little shade until late evening. Everything else was great! I really appreciated the family dropping the firewood off at the site while we played cards. Site was clean, and everyone respected the quiet hours! You could barely hear a single car driving at night. Loudest part (and a highlight for me) was listening to the wildlife talking throughout the evening. We will definitly be coming back to visit again in the fall hopefully!

We had such a great time tent camping at Shivering Timbers. The sites were nice and big, so even though we had neighbors it still felt private, and our hosts were so kind. Wood was delivered to our site by her sons, which was a nice touch, and we enjoyed the colorful campfire packet that came in our welcome bag. We also appreciated how close it is to everything nearby--a great launching-off point for the area! I will say there were mosquitos when we visited, but it was early in the season and they said hadn't been able to spray yet because of heavy rain recently, so if your visit is later in the season I'm sure the mosquitos will be better. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it!

The campground was easy to find, navigate and set up in. Stephanie came out to greet us and she was a delight! The firewood already bundles and the little gift for our stay were a lovely touch and I would definitely stay there again. I will say that the skeeters were relentless, but welcome to the UP😂. It was about an 18 minute drive to Whitefish Point as well so that was a highlight! Check in was simple and Stephanie responded to my messages quickly and clearly.
