Tammy was an amazing host! Really set the standard for hospitality!! Had a great shaded spot that overlooked the lake. Tammy brought over a fire pit as well. Provided kayaks to access the lake. Also made a fantastic breakfast with coffee in the morning! Highly recommend!!

Robb and Jeanne are amazing and the property even more so! My only regret is we didn’t get to spend more time with them! But we’ve already rebooked for the fall! Everything you want in a quiet weekend. We used the RV site and it’s the only one besides their glamping suite which is awesome too! Robb was so gracious coming to the rescue with an extra fan for us tonuse as we caught a few hot days! Up the hill in the pines are the primitive sites and it couldn’t be more quiet. They keep it small on purpose! Must use the outdoor shower. Our pup had the very best week exploring and she left with a newfound confidence! And a few new friends in Robb, Jeanne and Kia! Can’t wait to be back and spend more time with them!

This campground is perfect for a getaway. Mike is amazing and helped us put our kayaks in the river so we could have a nice float back down to the campsite. There are showers and working toilets. We will be back!

Zero complaints! Very nice hosts to talk to and their knowledge of the area and recommendations were helpful. It was the perfect amount of seclusion/privacy and with a very convenient short walk to the common areas of the camp amenities. The location is prime to go visit multiple beaches, hiking/biking, sight seeing and shopping in nearby towns. I now personally understand why so many reviews state that they will be returning. I too will and will probably invite my 3 kids on the next getaway (8, 11 & 13 yr. old) Cheers to great hospitality!

Weekend Trip to Dragon Adventures Base Camp

I car camped for the weekend and rented a kayak for the day. The property and the host exceeded my expectations. Host was good with communications and had helpful suggestions for exploring the area. Clean, quiet, and thoughtfully appointed. The shower was a huge plus. For sure it has an outdoor adventure vibe, but would be equally great for a friends group glamping get away or a small family reunion. Many different options for camping/lodging. Will be back for adventures or maybe a quiet remote work week in the woods. These guys are building something special.

Great host. Met upon arrival. We requested to be as close to water as possible and we were not disappointed. A little less private then what we are use to. It took a minute to adjust. About an hours drive to Pricture Rock and some great hiking trails. My 12 yo son loved it here. Super convenient to for all your needs and adventures. Very clean outhouse and free wood.

Our views were great and i liked the location. There is a porta potty if you need it. No tables available, so you'll want to make sure to have table/chairs if you want them. Being by the river, there's lots of mosquitoes, so make sure to bring the bug spray! Overall a good site and pretty much what we expected!

This was a perfect set up in a very beautiful spot. Joy met us when we arrived and explained our options for camping. The grounds are well maintained and easy to navigate. I don’t know if I have ever seen a cleaner, more esthetically pleasing outhouse! There is plenty of room between camping sites, so privacy is not a problem. It was nice to be able to walk the dog around the property after a long day of traveling. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Joy and Brian’s place to other travelers.

Loved camping here! Good instructions to get to the correct campsite, with a personalized welcome sign when I got there. The host welcomed me to meet their animals which was so much fun (and I got to feed the Alpacas!!). Loved the oldschool bus (Hope they turn it into a unique campsite) and the flowers. I was on a solo trip but my family would have loved it as well - places for people to sit together, swing set, basketball hoop with multiple basketballs, and other stuff to do. Definitely recommend.

Rob is a fantastic host! The land is BEAUTIFUL. The house is BEAUTIFUL. The ARTWORK was INCREDIBLE. A really unique stay, we felt welcome, safe, relaxed and surprisingly very inspired! From the artwork itself to the trails he has marked out on the property to the landscaping and the library, all of it. Waking up to birds chirping and chickens crowing was so refreshing. We left feeling rejuvenated and inspired. Absolutely would recommend to everyone and we hope to be back soon again. ❤️

This property was super pretty and well maintained! The pond was really nice and the grass was mowed. There were new fire rings placed around and we chose one close to the pond. Very quiet as we were the only campers there for the one night we stayed. The portapotty was pristinely clean in all aspects and well stocked with a hand washing station and sanitizer. It's just a few miles from Warren Dunes beach and Weko beach and lots of wineries. We will definitely be back.

The Farm On Bear Lake

One Grand Place - Riverside Retreat

This property is at the end of a private road and has three adjoining waterfront parcels that have been in the family for decades that we fondly refer to as One Grand Place. Family still lives on one of the parcels but we are excited to be sharing the other 2 parcels with all of you. One parcel is our Premium RV site on a cement pad, parallel to the river and can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). 30/50/standard 110 Electric and water hookup. Pump out is available for a fee. The other adjacent parcel at the very far west end of the property is a large grassy area with 2 sites. Both have 30 and standard 110 electric, plus water. --1 Standard RV site can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). Or, can be used as a tent site IF the tent only site is already booked. Pump out is available for a fee. --1 Tent only site. To be booked first before the Standard RV site. However, both sites are next to each other with same view. There is plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like? It is your very own exclusive home away from home. If you don't have an RV or a tent and want to still come and visit, no problem. Rent one of our RVs or rent our tent. However, there are certain rules that must be adhered to per the agreement with our local township and our neighbors along our shared private road. Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and is surrounded by natural wetlands. Perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy the fresh air and picture perfect sunsets. Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few of the things to enjoy on the water. Bring your own boat, jet ski, kayak or rent from nearby establishments. One of many public boat launches is just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou County Park has a kayak specific boat launch. You can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore. If you are bringing your own boat, jet ski, kayak and have a separate trailer, parking of that trailer must be pre-authorized due to limited space. Please inquire. Hiking, biking and wildlife, bird/eagle watching are also in the area. Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away. Holland is about 30 minutes south and also has a cute downtown, craft beers, and beaches. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 20 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is only 30 minutes North in Muskegon. There are also many wineries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan. And many blueberry farms around too. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie and Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites, Hammock Haven are located. Each site has a fire ring & picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and brush/wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture (1) and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded site (5) is half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. The others are in the middle of the pasture, 2 for sun lovers and 3 for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

We are 10 minutes from the Lake Michigan shore, and many beaches are close by. You have a choice of gorgeous sand beaches with picturesque dunes, and rocky beaches for those looking for fossils, agates, beach glass and beautiful beach stones. We are within an hour of Sleeping Bear Dunes which has award winning hiking. Traverse City is 40 minutes away with many activities, especially the Cherry Festival. The area is known for live music venues, and lots of weekend art festivals. Manistee is also home to the Little River Casino. We have firepits at each campsite, dry firewood is available to purchase, feel free to pay by cash, Venmo or CashApp, cost is $11.00 a wheelbarrow. Fresh flowers are available to purchase, seasonally. An outhouse is available for use and is supplied with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. There is a garbage can and recycling bin near the outhouse. We installed a water hydrant so you can get potable water to bring back to your site, or hose off with on the spot. A scenic small creek runs by many of the campsites. Lynx Run Wilderness Retreat

My property (Lynx Run) has an amazing geological and historical background. During the last ice age, glacial waters carved out the ravine in which the Betts Creek flows. Sometimes, the creek drops over 60 feet below the surrounding terrain as it meanders back and forth in oxbows as it flows toward the Muskegon River. It was once the hunting, foraging and camping grounds of the Potawatami Indians. In the late 1800's it was at the center of the Michigan Timber Industry. Running along the edge of my property is the old railroad bed where timber was once hauled away. Only two miles from my home, the logs were sent down the side of the hill and into the Muskegon River on log chutes and then floated to where the Muskegon empties into Lake Michigan. Piles of field stones indicate that after the timber industry moved on, farmers moved in and attempted to tame the land. But, fortunately for me, the land was abandoned by the farmers and has returned to a much more natural and pristine state. My land is now a part of the Manistee National Forest and I am surrounded by thousands of acres of beautiful land (both public and private). I am the only person who lives back here in this part of the forest, so seclusion and privacy are wonderful and the wildlife and beauty is abundant.

We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.” In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history. Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! Overview

When it comes to natural attractions, Michigan holds all the aces. This landlocked state has more state parks and state forests than any other, miles of coastline, and more than 10,000 lakes—which means you’ll never be more than six miles from the water. Some of the best camping is found on the beaches and islands of the Great Lakes, so plan a summer getaway to swim, fish, and kayak, or a fall camping trip to admire Michigan’s spectacular foliage. Winter is best suited for RV camping, with snow blanketing much of the state from November through March.

Where to go

Upper Peninsula

The Upper Peninsula is Michigan’s wild toupée, with swathes of old-growth forests, sandy beaches, and inland lakes stretching along the southern shore of Lake Superior. This is the spot to escape the crowds, whether pitching your tent by the sand dunes in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, parking your RV by a waterfall in Tahquamenon Falls State Park, or yurt camping in the Porcupine Mountains. For the ultimate camping experience, the Hiawatha National Forest has some 60 campsites to choose from.

Northern Lower Peninsula

Bordered by Lake Michigan to the West and Lake Huron to the east, the northern Lower Peninsula has the highest concentration of Michigan state parks. Miles of mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking trails await in the Huron National Forest, where you can choose from modern campgrounds or backcountry camping. Along the coast, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a must-see, Wilderness State Park is a dark sky reserve, and Ludington State Park Beach is a family favorite.

Southwest Michigan

Grand Rapids is the gateway to Michigan’s southwest, where the shore of Lake Michigan provides plenty of options for a summer camping trip. Lakefront cities such as South Haven, Benton Harbor, and Holland have sandy beaches, historic lighthouses, and seafront campgrounds. Forget tent camping in the wilderness—RV sites come equipped with full hookups, playgrounds, and watercraft rentals.

Southeast Michigan

Michigan's "Thumb" juts out along the west shore of Lake Huron, where Sleeper State Park and Port Crescent State Park are the big draws for campers. Below this, the west coast is ideal for a road trip, peppered with shipwreck dive sites, secluded beaches, and golf courses. South of Detroit and Lake St. Clair, Sterling State Park is the only state park on the shore of Lake Erie, with a mix of RV and tent sites by the beach.
