Blooming Bus Farms

We stayed just one night in a tent on our way out west. The site was private and tidy. My kids enjoyed the playing the basketball wagon and my wife loved admiring the flowers growing in the garden. I appreciated that the grounds were quiet in the night and easy and comfortable for sleep. We would definitely stay again!

Melissa provided a fresh flower arrangement which was delightful. There were some flying bugs but she also provided a big torch that kept them in check. Her place is close to the highway also.

Our three day stay was delightful with a great balance of relaxing, a trip to an arboretum and Lake Michigan, and visiting with the alpacas. I think this is a great place for families with children. A large sandy area with swings and volleyball and lounge chairs was good for young and old. The yurt style tent was roomy, with two beds, with intimate lighting. The kitchenette was well equipped and easy to cook for a group. If you want a quiet time to have some deep relaxation ask for a space furthest away from the road to insulate from the car noises. One miss was the lack of opportunity to recycle bottles and cans. This seems so basic and would reflect the values of outdoor loving folks.

Alpaca farm Family Glamping

This place was so charming! The bell tent was spacious and comfortable. The grounds were so magical to walk at night when the lights were lit up. I felt like I was walking around in a fairy tail the way they played off of the flower garden in the moonlight. I didn't get to meet the alpacas due to my timing, but i was so captivated by the magic of the land I didn't mind.

Our stay at Melissa's glamping yurt at Bloomin Bus Farms was a great reprieve from our normal day to day. It was cozy and relaxing. The spot was private and their were personal touches that made it feel special. Our kids (4&8) didn't want to leave!

Alpaca farm Family Glamping

Always a nice stay with awesome amenities. The composting toilet and shower with hot water (extra hot— if you like it that way!) Is a life saver when camping with the kids. Especially after they've buried themselves in the sand at the volleyball area. Combine that with being able to hunker down late at night in the comfort of a tent big enough to accommodate 6+ people, and you have a magical and comfortable experience for everyone. Melissa set up an extra queen in the tent and even with us adding an additional queen sized air mattress on top of that, there was plenty of room. She also provided plenty of blankets and was super quick to respond to any of our questions. Overall, a great place to go if you're looking to camp with the family. 10/10 would recommend 👌 Family manager approved. 🙌

Undisclosed Concert Ruined Our Quie

This was our second time staying here, and unfortunately we were disappointed with this visit. We returned because we enjoyed our first stay and were looking forward to a quiet weekend in nature. The day before our arrival, we received a text letting us know there would be a concert on the property that weekend. The concert lasted until around 11:00 p.m. Had this been disclosed in the listing before we booked, we would have certainly not booked. The portable toilets had been moved, and overall it felt like the needs of campers were secondary to the event. My main concern is the lack of advance disclosure. If the property is going to be used as a concert venue or host other large events on certain dates, that should be clearly stated in the listing before guests book.

We actually had 2 of the tent sites and a yurt for a family get together. We all had an amazing time on this unique and welcoming property. My parents, both 86 years young stayed in the yurt and were very comfortable. I can’t recommend high enough. They are close to Lake Michigan so we did a day trip that was so much fun. We also just hung out on the property playing games and relaxing.

Such a nice, fun, tucked away site in lower Michigan. Not too far from Cherry Beach or the Warren Dunes, but still far enough to not feel so crowded on busy summer days. The cabin was great, with the shower and composting toilet and hand washing station the cherry on top!

From the moment you drive in to the property there is a rustic beautiful transformation in the terrain. Melissa and her husband have put so much love and craft into their farm and you get to experience it first hand. My boyfriend and I had such a special time for my birthday weekend, cooking homemade meals over our campfire, playing outdoor games while listening to music, and saying hello to the Alpaca’s and dogs. You’ll find a few little creatures you don’t get to see day to day like turtles, huge green grasshoppers, and iridescent spider webs. Although you’ll find that the campsites are fairly close to one another, there is enough forest in between that you still have privacy. I highly encourage anyone that is looking for a fun new camping adventure to explore this stay. Indiana Dunes National Park is only an hour drive away, or Weko Beach (30 mins) which has such a beautiful scenic drive including all of the local vineyards.

My husband and I loved our Yurt retreat! We really enjoyed the activities on the farm like the disc golf and basketball :) the amenities were amazing and the alpacas were so cute! 10/10 would recommend

We had an amazing stay at the Blooming Bus Farm! The glamping tent was cozy and offered the perfect balance of being immersed in nature while enjoying the comforts of home. It was so nice not having to bring our own tent and all our camping gear. The kitchenette had almost everything we needed for our stay. Just make sure to communicate what you need to Melissa. Melissa was a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, and quick to answer any questions we had. Jason was also incredibly kind and took the time to let us meet and feed the alpacas, which was the absolute highlight of our kids' trip. They haven't stopped talking about it! Thank you for sharing your beautiful farm with us and for making our stay so memorable. We would absolutely love to come back!

Wonderful oasis

Glamping Getaway

Very great glamping site. Honestly way better than we expected. Came with firewood and a cooler full of ice and water and a shower with hot water and portable toliets if you did not want to use the composting toliet, but honestly the composting Toliet was good too! The bed was comfy and plenty of covers. The hammock was sweet and fire pit with rocking chairs was super nice. We would definitely come back and stay here. We met the alpacas on the final day and saw the beautiful flowers at the front of the stay. We played a little bit of basketball too and watched fireworks around the area for fourth of July. 10/10 would recommend. We spent time at the indiana dunes national park and new buffalou beach. Both great choices during our stay and the tent is waterproof for rain.

Tucked in a beautiful little farm with active honey bees, a playground, hammock, and fire pit (just to name a few)… this place was perfect for me and my dog overnight. Melissa topped it with a beautiful welcome sign and bouquet of flowers. If you’re looking in the area for a spot, choose this place.

We had a very nice weekend. It was more in town then I expected but it was a very beautiful place. The alpacas are somewhat elusive but we did get to see them a couple times. The site was smaller then I expected and was a tight fit for our group but we made it work. The firepit could use an upgrade they let so much air flow through the fire was hard to keep going good. Over all it was a great weekend and I would recommend this place and will probably be back again this summer as it is hard to find a spot that is so wooded and peaceful but still so close to stores.

Beautiful Glamping Experience

My husband and I snuck away midweek to just get away before an upcoming surgery. We got so much more than expected. Melissa was the most gracious host. They thought of everything you needed before you knew you needed it. The glamping cabin was so adorable and it was so quiet when we were there. The birds were lovely and the alpacas sweet. Romantic lights are everywhere. I recommend this campground with all my heart.

Glamping done so very right

This was my first experience with hipcamp and I'm sold. It was very comfortable. They supplied pretty much everything we needed. We did NOT have to rough it out, which for me was exactly the point. I personally am not a camping type and prefer hotels, but I definitely want to visit Blooming Bus Farms again with friends, with my kids, with a bigger group. This time we went for our wedding anniversary, we being both my wife and I. As I enjoyed the beautiful glampsite I kept thinking this place probably levels up in autumn. There was a fire pit, which they provided the initial wood for. I ordered one extra helping of firewood and it was enough to keep our fire going through one heck of a storm. They have a tent set up with a table off to the side of the fire where we set up the stuff we had brought with us. The actual "tent" was spacious and comfortable with a bed, chairs, couch and table table. The lighting was great and set the mood perfectly. Really I didn't think we utilized everything they provided because they provided so much. That's why I gotta go back. The host was extremely nice and communicated excellently. I know we didn't experience it fully because it stormed really bad and so couldn't really take a stroll or explore the grounds fully, but what we got was more than worth it. If this is how all of the other sites are on the app this is what you want the introduction to be. I highly recommend this specific campground. 5 stars!

This was our second time visiting Blooming Bus and we had a great time! Even with the thunderstorms over the weekend, we were able to enjoy ourselves. Melissa is a fantastic host and is very responsive when sending messages with any questions. There is a Walmart less than 5 minutes away, which was helpful for things we forgot! We always appreciate seeing the alpacas and turkeys on the farm. We were sad that the garden was not open to visitors this year. The last time we stayed here, we loved walking through the beautiful garden and looking at all the flowers and produce. Melissa does a great job keeping the property clean and enjoyable to camp at. Highly recommend Blooming Bus!!
