This is a 3rd generation "Family Farm" of a different sort I suppose. Seems there's a bit of everything here, and arguably not enough of anything. At least for conventional farming. So we've learned to do things a bit differently.Our main crop is wine and juice grapes since our topography, climate, and soil type makes it a premier location for that. But with 30+ acres of forested hillsides, low ground, and natural areas we've evolved into a mixed farm and forest enterprise. Our goal is to utilize the productivity of all our property while still retaining the basic character and usefulness of the wild areas. Letting each thing be what it wants to be and does best on it's own. Flow, not force.So our year starts early with tapping maple trees and making maple syrup. Plus there's grape trimming about this time as well. When the forest floor starts to green up a bit later, we start digging Ramps, or Wild Leeks in the woods. Most of these will go to the more trendy Chicago restaurants, but we also have some local sales. Next comes inoculating winter-cut logs with Shiitake spawn for next years mushroom production. This year we also conducted a few hands-on workshop seminars on mushroom growing as well. Then it's on to our raised bed herb & veggie gardens. (Fresh herbs are just so much fun to cook with!) We grow enough for our own yearly use, as well as some for direct sales. Summer keeps us busy tending all the different crops here and trying to keep up. But there's that steady progression of fresh veggies to eat. Yum !!! Fall brings our annual Grape U-Pick in September and October. And we try to time related crops like mums, pumpkins, and gourds for this same time frame. Makes the place a bit more interesting. Late fall is when we bring in firewood to heat the house and workshop. Stacks of wood everywhere. Hopefully before the 1st snow. In winter it's time to fire up the woodworking shop and be a bit creative. Build furniture, equipment maintenance, who knows what next years projects will include. I like to keep everybody guessing.So, that's what goes on here. You're welcome to check it out, lend a hand, relax back at camp, walk the vineyards and/or forest, or just breathe and relax. That's up to you. But I would recommend visiting a few of the fine local wineries. Seems there's a festival going on at one or another of them just about every weekend. Good music, good wine, good times. And there's the Lake Michigan beaches a few miles down the road.Yeah, this is a pretty casual place here, love meeting new people, very open to civil discussions of all sorts.However, rude, ill mannered people will probably enjoy staying elsewhere. Just say'n.

Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground!
We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”
In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.
Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work!
Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. Knowing that you chose our resort to support, means a lot to our Superior Times and Resort family team. We truly appreciate your loyalty and give special thanks to our returning customers. We do not allow pets for our cabin guests, and have a weight limit of 50 pounds for our camping (tent/camper) guests. We have boats for rent (kayaks, canoes, row boats, paddle boats). This is not for everyone, but if you want to come and commune with nature and enjoy some peace and quiet, then this is the spot for you!
Our goal to provide a peaceful, quiet ambiance for all our guests and so we don’t allow loud music and we require adherence of our quiet hours from 10pm to 10 am. If you’re using a generator, please run it during the day until 10pm, so that it’s not running all through the night.

2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie & Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and Lake Michigan, 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo and just under an hour from Grand Rapids.
Those of you who have visited in the past will notice that we significantly downsized this year. Due to Township and State regulations, we are now limited to offering only four campsites unless we get licensed, which at this time is cost prohibitive. So, we have selected the four most highly rated sites and upgraded them, to truly make your experience here special.
About half of the 20 acres is wooded, with walking trails around the property, to include our fish stocked pond and a little tributary of the Black River.
All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table.
We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water.
A free refreshment bar is available 24/7. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack and a hot or cold drink.
You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (for a fee).
We are a working farm and registered as two Non-Profits. One an animal rescue, primarily working with cats. At any given day we have 20-30 cats roaming around the farm. All are under the care of our vet, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and treated for fleas and ticks. All important because they will want to interact with you. Some will want to sleep with you.
Our 100 plus flock of poultry, comprised of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys, free range during the day, so leave the Prada's at home.
If you are staying at Sam's Place, your closest neighbors will Penelope and Petunia, our two female sister pigs. The prevailing winds are down from your site, but you may hear them squabble. Our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats will love your attention and treats we can provide. Arriving in March is Jack, a miniature donkey...we are very excited!
Please try to check-in by 8pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

"Elysium Heritage Farm" is situated on 120 acres in Northeast, MI surrounded by woods, trails, ponds and canals. In case you plan on fishing the local hotspots on Lake Huron (15 minutes away) and are trailering a boat, there is plenty of area to park your rig during your stay.
It's only a ten-minute drive to Pinconning, where you can experience Michigan's "Cheese Town" and all it has to offer. There's a grocery store, numerous cheese shops, and a variety of party stores and restaurants. For the outdoor enthusiasts, don't miss out on going to the ever-famous "Northwoods Wholesale Outlet". Also nearby is the "Saganing Eagles Landing Casino" in Standish. We have resided here for over 30 years and can assist you in many ways to get the most out of your visit.
By the way, the definition of the word "Elysium" is "Place of perfect bliss" and yes, we labeled it that long before the movie with Matt Damon was created.

We are minutes from award winning fishing spots on the Big Manistee, Little Manistee, Bear Creek Trout Streams and the Platte River. There are many opportunities to canoe, kayak and paddle board. We are 10 minutes from the Lake Michigan shore, and many beaches are close by. You have a choice of gorgeous sand beaches with picturesque dunes, and rocky beaches for those looking for fossils, agates, beach glass & beautiful beach stones. We are within an hour of Sleeping Bear Dunes with award winning hiking. Traverse City is 40 minutes away with many activities, especially the Cherry Festival. This area is known for live music venues, and lots of weekend art festivals. Manistee is also home to the Little River Casino.
We have firepits at each campsite, dry firewood is available to purchase, feel free to pay by cash, Venmo or CashApp, cost is $15.00 a wheelbarrow and can be found by the wood burning stove under shelter. Fresh flowers bouquets are available to purchase seasonally at our Floral Stand & Market. We have local NON GMO Pasture raised eggs $5 a dozen, Sourdough Bread $10, organically grown garlic, peaches, scones & fishing lures & our Guest Book! An outhouse is available for use and is supplied with toilet paper & hand sanitizer. There is a garbage can and recycling bin near the outhouse. We installed a water hydrant close to the flower bed near the wood pile so you can get potable water to bring back to your site, or hose off with on the spot. A scenic small creek runs by many of the campsites.

Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. On the farm is a 20 acre lake with a floating island, tent sites, and healthy ecosystems with plenty of wildlife.Our farm pastures pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry, investing in our dirt and our neighbors. We are provision family farms because we provide for our animals even as we are provided for. Drop on in at the house and we may have time for a little tour.In the woods is a small composting toilet, but you're welcome to fertilize our pastures anytime. There's also a shower available in the house.The best time to visit Michigan forests is in October when the leaves turn color and the nights are cool. The mosquitoes are done for the winter and the air is brisk.

My husband and I came for a relaxing weekend. This is our first camping trip using this app and we are so happy we ended up at Kim’s! We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere and like we were the only ones there! It was exactly what we were looking for with so many perks! Beautiful trails to spend the day walking in, ponds, and the animals!!! And yet we were so close to stores incase anything is forgotten! Such a great time we can’t wait to come back :)

Every time I go to Doriath Springs, I fall more in love with it. The grounds are beautiful, perfectly maintained. The spillway and creek are delightful, the flowers are beautiful, and the river is so pretty.
The hill down to the campsites is kind of steep, so either pack super light or bring a wagon- or both. But it's totally worth it!
Sarah is the perfect hostess. She's there if you need her, but not intrusive at all.
Town is close, there's a really good ice cream place nearby, and even though you're not too far from civilization, you're completely isolated from it.

The owner was super kind, so were his kids and they are all so helpful. We were getting up there later in the evening and he was kind enough to start a fire for us which made our first evening up there so much easier! Our site was large and private, our group was 10 people and it fit us perfectly. The environment was very relaxing and the campground had so many fun things to do. Having the dedicated shower/bath house was so nice and made the stay way easier. All of our neighbors were awesome and fun to be around. I would have loved to be up there earlier in the week for a longer stay, but our four nights were great.
The location was also perfect for everything we wanted to do. We were close to the Pine River for fishing and close enough to nearby towns and trails while still feeling tucked away in the woods. You can really tell the owners care about the campground and the experience people have while staying there. Everything felt welcoming, peaceful, and well maintained. We made a lot of great memories during our trip and would absolutely come back again in the future.

This was a beautiful spot and the owners are amazing, they have really put some hard work into this spot, beautiful sites and tons to explore! I had the pleasure of getting a tour of all the baby animals and what each building means to these owners. Such a special place, 100% recommended to stop by and explore this wonderful property during this camping season. We stayed at the vine camp with our off grid set up and it was a great weekend, we rode our bikes down to the main farm, we canoed down the canal and we were supplied with firewood to keep a fire going the whole weekend! Thank you guys again and we look forward to many more adventures here!

We’re repeat campers here for many reasons. We love this camp! Betty and Marty are excellent hosts and kind humans. Warm and welcoming.. The farm is beautifully maintained and the facilities are great. Cutest and cleanest outhouse I’ve ever seen and the shower is great too. Location is fantastic for privacy and proximity to things to do in the area. We will definitely be back! Thanks for sharing your space Betty Ann, Marty, Marley and Jazzy 😊

Where do I even begin, this was hands down the best hip camp I've ever stayed at, and I've been at quite a few across the US!!! Our host Kim was absolutely amazing. Literally from the minute we pulled in she was waiting for us at the gate until the time we left when we we had a conversation with her and her husband around a bonfire this morning. The experience was so natural and just full of surprises. There are plenty of trails and little ponds to go look at or even go catch a few fish in the big pond. Our host even offered us use of there kayaks and paddle boat. There are lots of different farm animals there from ducks to Emus, we even got to see a goat be born the first night there.

19 ft travel trailer
Unfortunately, dude to a mouse issue in our camper, we had to cancel the evening before our trip from Grand Rapids to Benzonia for the weekend. BUT, my band was playing a gig at 5 Shores Brewery just minutes from the campsite that evening, which Betty knew about. So, even though we had to cancel the camping trip, Betty still came to our show and said hello, danced with friends, and was incredibly sweet. We’re already scouring the calendar for a date to reschedule as the site looks amazing and the host simply could not be more wonderful. Thank you, Betty!

5/5 stars for our stay at Kim's beautiful getaway! Maybe an odd thing to lead with, but it had absolutely the nicest outhouse I've ever been in, and it just shows how much pride the owners have in their property. The tent site is covered in sand which makes tent staking a breeze. Other lovely touches: a tablecloth on the picnic table, an extra table for food prep, trees for hammocks, firewood in a covered box, an adjacent property with bird sanctuary and pond with kayaks. Short drive to area nature sites and beaches. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms
We absolutely adored our stay in the treehouse and were thrilled to watch the farm animals munching away in all the different pastures! Plus, being JRR Tolkien fans, it was a real treat to see the hobbit hole under construction! And with the lake right there, we had a blast getting our paddle boards in the water!

I felt safe here as a solo female traveler. John was lovely in showing me the campsite. There was a nice trail to walk in the morning, fire ring and plenty of seating/surfaces, prep station with utensils and communal gear, flat spot to park my car for car camping, porta pot nearby. It was quiet and cozy. Would return!

Staying at vine camp was everything I’d hoped for and so much more! I came as a solo camper and Kim was so friendly and happy to talk to me about the farm. She even saved the day when my car battery was dead in the morning. Not to mention the property I spent hours walking about and still didn’t get to all the trails. Surrounded by beautiful wetlands. So many adorable animals on the farm and wildlife around. My stay couldn't have been any better I only wish I could come back sooner.
