Impromptu visit. Host was extremely friendly and this camp close to all the fun of manistee without regular camp ground rules. Nice folks. Recommend to any tent or small rv camper.

It's like alot of public campgrounds. There are open, unsecluded sites. But after walking around the property we found some very secluded ones. ( i asked if we could park somewhere to make sure we were off the site but could still walk through a wooded path thay looked interesting, it was close to check out time. They responded, yes) the open sites are a very good size. A vehicle along with: a few tents, or tent and canapy, or tents and canapies could comfortably fit. The secluded ones are a little smaller and completely under trees, a very small walk would be needed for a couple but parking is very close to them and would be totally worth it. While it got a bit chilly so i didn't use it, however The "mash" shower set up is very cool. The firewood they sell, is in metal wire cages. they have you fill a wheelbarrow and take it to your site yourself. so that is cool. You get alot. However it is still in different size log shape, thick, narrow. All Mainly the length of the wheelbarrow, so haveing something to cut them down a little, or open to fit in the metal pit was helpful, if you get paranoid of overhanging bruning wood. Like everywhere else, storage of the wood is uncovered so gets dewy or wet. That'd be in my opinion the only downside. Which would not stop me from going back, cause I am used to, & always prepared for that.

China Cat Sunflower

We loved our stay at China Cat Sunflower. The land is beautiful and the hosts were responsive to any questions or issues. Lots of cool caterpillars and a few curious deer. :) We did wish the outhouse was a bit more kept and not so full. Other than that we had an amazing weekend!

We absolutely Loved our stay! Especially enjoyed the heated outdoor shower! The owners were very kind , and we hope to make this an annual trip! If you’re looking for a welcoming campsite in the Manistee area check this place out! Close to lots of great fishing as well!!

Pine Knob for the win!

We posted up here for 4 nights. Pine Knob was a beautiful campsite to spend Labor Day weekend. The outside shower was awesome. I highly recommend buying the farm fresh eggs. The hosts were so nice and responsive to messages. And there are so many fun activities in the area. We floated the Manistee River, chilled at a beach on Lake Michigan, and played 18 @ Arcadia Bluffs. Epic weekend. Would definitely come back!

Host showed up with no request to help us find our campsite when we arrived at dusk. Also was understanding when we had to cancel our 2nd night due to my child being very sick and gave us a refund. Wish we stayed longer, but the land they have is worth staying on and checking out. I recommend it for seeing flying squirrels, birch trees, wild grapes and great hospitality!

A great spot, there was no other campers on our side, so it was quiet and peaceful. The outhouse is clean and Jackie has a beautiful flower bed of Dahlias.

Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful campsite with Gorgeous views of the stars at night. Loved the outside shower. Took a midnight shower while watching the Beautiful night sky. We drove in on two motorcycles and had zero issues getting to our site. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

I loved camping on Dean and Jackie's land. The directions were clear and it was easy to find the location and camping site. This particular site has a nice mixture of shade and grassy areas. The charging station, outhouses, and shower were nice additions as well. With close proximity to good fishing spots and kayaking. Overall great stay.

Nice place to stay in Manistee!

Dean and Jackie’s land is lovely. The flowers were beautiful. The amenities were nice (outhouse was ok). I didn’t use the shower, but it was a nice option to have. There was water available and lots of wood for a bonfire. My campsite (Bluebird) was very level and easy to stay on in my car. I had a fire pit and a picnic table. I even bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers (in a vase) for my mom before I left! Jackie was nice enough to leave me a box to transport them in. Overall, it was a very nice stay.

It was just a quick overnight stay, somewhere to park for the night. I booked it late at night and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to access it because I’ve had issues in the past with other sites, but on top of the auto-reply, they messaged me quickly and let me know they were available via text if I needed any help. I didn’t, it was very straightforward and easy to find. Had to leave early in the morning when I was able to actually SEE everything and I was sad I wasn’t able to stick around and enjoy what their property had to offer. Will definitely book again if I’m ever back around that way.

Sand Bar

Camping was secluded, quiet and scenic. The forest site nestled by the open field of grass and ferns was just right. Stars shined bright without the light pollution blocking their show. In addition site is only a short drive from Manistee.

Our experience went fairly well. We felt safe and well enough secluded. We did message the hosts when we were on our way there with a question about checking in, and they never ended up responding. Thankfully nothing went wrong where we needed them to respond, but that could have been a concern. Overall still a good experience, and I feel we got what we paid for.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay for one night because I would love to come back and camp longer to access all of the activities in the area. Dean’s land was perfect for hipcamp… Plenty of room, beautiful sites and a very responsive and friendly host we will be back.

Beautiful little oasis! Loved our campsite, China Cat Sunflower. Hosts were wonderful! Spot was easy to find thanks to their directions and very well maintained. Our site had a picnic table, 2 chairs and a fire pit. Wood could be purchased on site. There was also delicious sourdough bread available at the farm stand that we enjoyed for breakfast. We did not get to use the outdoor shower but looks awesome! Highly recommend this great spot!

Peaceful and comfortable!

I’m pretty confident I was the only person on the property when I went or it was just that peaceful, but truly a great place for a single person adventurer! I camped at Bluebird site, the space was delightful with a bonfire pit, picnic table and space for your tent/car. There’s also a pit toilet, outdoor shower, that are decently clean. I was able to enjoy the wooded area behind my site, stars were out of site and would recommend to anyone. An overall pleasant stay!
