The 2026 camping season in Michigan is open! Glad to be able to offer our slice of heaven to you again this year! Thank you to all who chose to stay here.
***For the preservation of our property, our septic system, the privacy of other campers, all arrivals MUST be prior to dark setting in. If you can't see the signs & posts, you can damage our property AND your vehicle/equipment. All campers must arrive no later than 8:30 p.m. (This time limit will change throughout the season.)
*The property has a lot of wildlife; Deer, Turkey, Rabbits, Coyote, Birds, & Fox.
*A small creek runs across the back of the property.
*There are many lakes just minutes away, as well as the Huron river for fishing & kayaking.
*Public beaches at Lake Chemung & Bishop Lake.
*Campfires allowed. Plenty of dead wood around, or you can purchase firewood bundles onsite.
*Potable water is available to fill water tanks & containers. It is softened from the house.
*Sewer dump station is 5 miles away at Brighton Rec Area (there is a fee).
*Pets are allowed, max of 2 total (cats & dogs only). They must be leashed at all times (15 ft. max).
*Guests that are not part of the Hipcamp Reservation, are not allowed on-site. Guests will need to be met at a location other than our Hipcamp. There are numerous places nearby to gather instead. This assures maximum privacy for all sites and for our family.
***SUMMER ACTIVITIES:
*Howell Balloon fest in June.
*Howell Melon fest in August.
*Captain Frosty's Ice Cream is located approximately 2–3 miles away. They offer a variety of ice cream deliciousness, slushies, shakes, and malts.
***FALL ACTIVITIES:
*U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and Petting Farm next door. Free wagon rides on the weekends and a free corn maze anytime. Purchases available: pumpkins, cornstalks, Indian corn, gourds, squash, mums, honey, and other wonderful treats.
*Terrified Forest and Haunted Mansion are just 1 mile away beginning around mid-September for Halloween.
*Apple Orchard is 3–4 miles away. They offer apples have an organic farm stand w/vegetables.

We are a 20 acre hobby farm along the Grand River in Lowell Michigan. A walkable small town. The river is accessable to small craft. Swimming is not prohibited, but is at your own risk. Several fields are available as well as a small and large tent site along the river. Campers may park in the field.
We are located along the North Country Trail and only a few blocks from their office as well as a 10 min drive from the Kent county youth fairgrounds. 25 minutes to Ionia fairgrounds
There is several restaurants and breweries walking distance away, joined by a social district as well as several cannabis stores. A dollar store and ice cream shop are 2-3 blocks away. And a country style breakfast restaurant is next door.
Have a fire or go fishing down by the river, or visit the animals at feeding time. The donkey likes attention. Fresh eggs are also available for $3/doz

We have 20 Acres of rolling hills, mostly forested, nestled on the banks of a flowing creek, we are also a dahlia flower farm; in the summer there are hundreds of dahlias blooming, along with many other flowers. If you have a special occasion, that calls for fresh flowers, be sure to let us know (we also offer tours). Our setting is quiet, private and scenic. We occasionally see the Aurora Borealis right from our house. We are located in beautiful Manistee, Michigan where outdoor adventures abound!! Manistee is a peaceful, quaint Northern Michigan town with shopping, antiquing, fine dining and a River Walk. We are minutes from award winning fishing spots on the Big Manistee, Little Manistee, Bear Creek Trout Streams and the Platte River. There are many opportunities to canoe, kayak and paddle board. We are 10 minutes from the Lake Michigan shore, and many beaches are close by. You have a choice of gorgeous sand beaches with picturesque dunes, and rocky beaches for those looking for fossils, agates, beach glass & beautiful beach stones. We are within an hour of Sleeping Bear Dunes with award winning hiking. Traverse City is 40 minutes away with many activities, especially the Cherry Festival. This area is known for live music venues, and lots of weekend art festivals. Manistee is also home to the Little River Casino.
We have firepits at each campsite, dry firewood is available to purchase, feel free to pay by cash, Venmo or CashApp, cost is $15.00 a wheelbarrow and can be found by the wood burning stove under shelter. Fresh flowers bouquets are available to purchase seasonally at our Floral Stand & Market. We have local NON GMO Pasture raised eggs $5 a dozen, Sourdough Bread $10, organically grown garlic, peaches, scones & fishing lures & our Guest Book! An outhouse is available for use and is supplied with toilet paper & hand sanitizer. There is a garbage can and recycling bin near the outhouse. We installed a water hydrant close to the flower bed near the wood pile so you can get potable water to bring back to your site, or hose off with on the spot. A scenic small creek runs by many of the campsites.

I am three miles from Lake Michigan and my town has a public access beach. I am surrounded by wineries, breweries, and antique stores. I am in the country but only a few miles off the expressway. Berrien County's adorable small towns are known for their special events all year round.

One mile from launch into South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, and less than 0.5 mile to Jordan River Rogers Road access. Beautiful and peaceful area. Located in Lake Charlevoix Watershed Area. Visit some of the local beautiful farms such as Friske's, Lavendar Hill, local farmers markers, and vineyards! There is a casino located in Petoskey on Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan as well as Mackinaw! Take a jump off the breakwall, or visit the newest bridge at Boyne Mountain Resort, just a stone's throw away! Relax in peace, the woods, and enjoy a little slice of heaven. There is no electricity, running water, or trash services. Please pack in, pack out. Please do not leave discarded or broken beer or alcohol bottles on property. There are over 30 fruit trees on site, from Black Pearl and Bing Cherries, Apricots, Peach trees, Honeycrisp apples trees etc, 250 sunflower seeds were also planted this season. This is a very delicate area near a local watershed source, Deer Creek, wetlands on property, and also fruit tree farm in it's early stages, organic strawberries, and organic raspberries growing as well. If you can't respect the trees, plants, flowers, on property please do not book! Also with all of the fruit tree plantings, parking is limited to one to two vehicles inside property at site, other vehicles can park along the drive on M32. "Elysium Heritage Farm" is situated on 120 acres in Northeast, MI surrounded by woods, trails, ponds and canals. It's only a ten-minute drive to Pinconning, where you can experience Michigan's "Cheese Town" and all it has to offer. There's a grocery store, numerous cheese shops, and a variety of party stores and restaurants. For the outdoor enthusiasts, don't miss out on going to the ever-famous "Northwoods Wholesale Outlet". Also nearby is the "Saganing Eagles Landing Casino" in Standish. We have resided here for over 30 years and can assist you in many ways to get the most out of your visit.
By the way, the definition of the word "Elysium" is "Place of perfect bliss" and yes, we labeled it that long before the movie with Matt Damon was created.

We have a toilet at the Creekside campsite, but no potable water. There is firewood available for purchase at each site.
We pride ourselves on our biodiversity, especially of birds and insects, and therefore maintain serval large wetlands and do not use chemical treatments in our campsites or woods. However, this means you should be prepared for a significant number of mosquitoes.
**If you bring your own wood please take any unburned logs with you when you leave**
While the farm is sprawling, there are multiple houses across the property so stay on established trails only and keep your noise levels down. This is a working farm, so you may occasionally see trucks or tractors. The property was originally owned by a family name Nichols (thus the name of the lake). It was handed down to the sons who each owned half the property. The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our totally private fresh water lake. Take your boat out for a day of fishing or just chill next to the fire. Sites are approximately 50 feet from each other. If you want privacy we suggest you book both.

We had a fantastic time at Lisa and Monte’s place! It was easy to find and the primitive site had everything we needed. Most importantly, this location gave us the opportunity to relax, unwind and explore the many beautiful spots across the UP.
Lisa and Monte were kind enough to spend some time with us on our first night, walking us around their property, introducing us to their animals, discussing the time and effort they’ve spent improving the land. Their farm is one managed with care and whole lot of love!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Doe Creek Hideaway and wished we would have stayed a couple more nights. From the variety of birds, the brightness of the stars, to the crickets lulling us to sleep after a day of swimming and exploring- we loved camping here!
Thank you again, Lisa and Monte! May many tennis balls be continued to be thrown for Miss Lucy! :)

The games are fun - the basic but very functional kitchen is Great! The porta johns were kept nice and clean.
"Warning" that the walk in camping is up hill. We took a large tent and a decent amount of gear - I would be cautious if you were taking a large tent and a large cooler and a table Etc Yada Yada up to teh Amazing SItes.
Don't get me wrong - the site was quite - Beautiful - Pines - Not many if any mosquitos - very cool - Just I didn't really think walking in meant a climb and it took us a decent amount of trips so - fair warning - if you are used to drive in - unload and set up on a flat surface - be prepared for a Little climb of 75-125 feet up hill.
That being said they had a dolly wagon for us! So it was just a little more than a little exercise - but we'd do it again - if that makes sense?
If you are taking a smaller tent - it's like -Not even a Thing.
ALso we took too much Stuff because we could have done without a small cooker which we used only for coffee and the french press and so forth if we had actually trusted the reviews of teh ammenities.
They have Great ammenities!
We were just "dumb"-ish.
My daugter's first time - very family freindly and by design Amazing!

We had such a great stay here! Site 34 was super spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms were really nice and clean. Having the rafting right at the campground was also incredibly convenient and made everything so easy. The owners were extremely nice, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. And of course, we loved meeting Biscuit, the cutest campground dog! 🐶❤️ We would definitely stay here again!

I feel like I found a hidden gem.. the Creekside site was PERFECT in every possible way. Well maintained, several trees for hammocking, and I didn’t see another soul the whole time I was there. The instructions to get to the site were easy even with getting there as it was getting dark. I will be back again and again.

we had the absolute best time at camp moonshadow! the portable toilets were clean and well kept, the kitchen area was wonderful, and the showers were perfect after the beach.

Having an outdoor kitchen and running water made clean up a breeze, the community fire pit was comfy and convenient with stocked firewood, and there were lots of fun outdoor games on the land for kids and adults to play together! A heated and beautiful private outdoor shower was another plus. We loved seeing the stars at night through the pines in our campsite. Very easy access to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and great communication from hosts.

Everything was great, host was very descriptive to make sure we had the information to find our spot, and make all our rv connections.
