2Chicks And A Farm

Overall, we had a good/mixed experience. My husband and I camped with our 3yo at Delilah's Kitty Korner site for 5 nights (long review). I def underestimated how noisy a farm is at night! I'd suggest tent campers bring earplugs. I don't sleep well with them, and we were frequently woken by a braying donkey (once at 1am haha), barking dogs, and early roosters. The site is conveniently close to the porta potty, but the loud sound of the door shutting sometimes woke me when other campers were around. The site is very close to the pigs so we had flies and, depending on wind, twas pretty stinky (heat prob made worse). There’s a decent amount of poison ivy around the site to look out for (esp w kiddos). Raccoons apparently hadn't been an issue before, but we kept food and trash tightly secured overnight. We didn't see our hosts as much as I thought we would based on reviews, but we met Julie on day two and she was kind and welcoming, even offering to freeze our water bottles to keep us cool. We weren’t reached out to, but Julie was almost always quick to respond by text about issues (hot water in the camp shower, raccoons raiding snack tent). It was a hot week, but the site had enough shade for our tent and sometimes our van. We really liked our cat/chicken/duck visitors (cats will try to eat your food). Location was great. We visited South Haven, Saugatuck, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids (fun children's museum). For kids, we'd recommend the Outdoor Discovery Center in Holland.

Peace and Tranquility

Beautiful property to explore with littles. Julie provides a great welcome basket for the fire pit. Farm tour is a must to meet and feed all the animals. Close to Lake Michigan / South Haven is fun to explore / good hiking nearby. Would have been a great location for star gazing but we had cloudy skies, the few stars that broke through were bright! Would recommend and we hope to go back with friends.

cats, chickens, ducks galore

it is a delightful working farm with free range foul and incredibly friendly, loving, well socialized cats. some of whom are working barn cats, some are part of their rescue program. the soundtrack of your camping experience will be crickets and songbirds as well as pigs, donkeys, goats, and assorted fowl. the campsite is extremely clean and well appointed. julie has obviously spent time thinking about the big and small things that make a difference in someone’s camping experience and strives to make it as comfortable as possible with clean tents, well built cots, easy access to refuse, potable water, and small touch amenities like tea and coffee that go a step above. however it is the attitude everyone who works on the farm that really elevates this hipcamp. everyone clearly enjoys being there, giving tours, sharing information about the critters. there is truly a sense of joy and welcoming on the farm that makes it a lovely place to be. we look forward to coming back.

The campsite was spacious and had nice shady and sunny areas. It was adjacent to a bell tent site and the porta potty. The coffee/tea/snack station was very much appreciated! We had kitty visitors every day who were all very friendly. Be careful leaving food out in front of them, though. We also had chickens and geese waddle through the campsite. It was a fun time walking around and seeing all the farm animals. The hosts were welcoming and communicative. We also enjoyed visiting the beach and South Haven which were only 15-20 minutes away.

We had an amazing time staying at Delilah’s Kitten Corner spot on the farm! Immediately 2 cats greeted us and we had such a fun time meeting all the farm animals. The trails on the property go through a very wooded area that felt very private. We did need earplugs as the roosters were very active in the morning, but with the earplugs it was not bothersome! They have everything you will need if you forget anything so rest assured. Will definitely be back to stay here again.

This was such a beatiful farm! We loved staying at the Kitty Corner and meeting all of the animals. The site was very clean and well maintained, and even though it was a busy holiday weekend with a few other families camping, we had plenty of space for our two tents. The free-range chickens and ducks are so much fun and the eggs are delicious. Thank you for having us at your lovely farm!

Great Space for Family Group Stay

We stayed at Sam's Place Bell Tent for one night of our spring "moms weekend" with 4 moms and 4 babies/toddlers in early May and had a great time! Julie's farm was easy to find. We were able to just call her using the contact info in our reservation once we arrived and she came right out to meet and gave us an orientation of the space. Julie is so sweet and friendly and really went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and set for our stay. Julie had cots with cushions as well as an air mattress (added to our booking in advance) set up in the bell tent before we arrived. There was a buddy heater with propane tank ready for us (VERY appreciated as the temps were in the 30s overnight) and a welcome bucket with assorted snacks, smores kit, and even pack of fire coloring tablets for our campfire. A very generous bundle of firewood was on the site, a picnic table, sunbrella, a couple of camp chairs, and twinkle lights around the tent. Her usual refreshments station wasn't quite set up for the season yet so she made a point of bringing us a large thermos of hot water and everything we could need for warm beverages! A water spigot and porta potty nearby provided for essential needs and we all enjoyed meandering the farm and seeing the friendly animals. Lovely space, great host, and fun time for kids and adults alike.

Site 7 - Woods

My wife and I stayed two nights on the farm and had a very pleasant stay. We got to see and interact with a lot of different animals and appreciate the 2 Chicks caring for so many. Campsite was ample and mostly private. Restroom facilities not too far from site and clean. We’d recommend them for anyone interested in an experience a little different from the norm.

I don't know where to begin? The place was beautiful upon entry! Beautiful cats to play with everywhere! My son was in heaven :-) we made great friends with a black kitty named Olivia. She hung out with us while we were camping and even shared some of our breakfast eggs! The pathways were lit at night, the TP that we stayed in was and beautiful condition, clean, well stocked with cleaning supplies and a trash can if needed. We had a bundle of wood that was plentiful! The staff was extremely helpful getting me to my site and making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed! There are vegetables for sale, as well as delicious salsa! The property is extremely well kept and beautiful to look at! Very serene. We had our own fire pit and picnic table also. The campsites were very private, which I really liked. I was very happy that I did not have to share a fire pit with other campers. This was a last-minute trip for my son's 11th birthday and well worth the drive from detroit! We will definitely be back with the rest of the family! I highly recommend two chicks and a farm!

Had an amazing weekend! We stayed in Sam's Place Yurt and it was perfect for our party of 4! We loved getting to pet all the farm kitties and having all the farm birds visit our campsite. The campsite was really clean and tidy as was our yurt. We really appreciated that the portapotty was close by and also the cleanest we've ever come across, especially at a campsite! Julie was an amazing host, she was super quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We got the breakfast on our first morning there and it was exactly what we needed to get our day started! Super delicious and substantial. Overall would highly recommend 2 Chick's! We can't wait to be back for another visit!

Mike’s Place Bell Tent

Such a great spot. We will definitely return. This was my first time in a yurt and I loved it! So roomy and nice to not have to set up a tent. It was nice to feel like we were alone in the woods since the sites are a ways away from each other, unlike a state park.

Amazing place. Site 5 was nicely tucked away but not too far from water, bathrooms and animals. Really not a single negative thing to say. Kids adored all of the animals and hosts were so generous.

Daisy - Front of Property

This was my 4th time staying at 2 Chicks and first time staying at the Daisy site. We love 2 Chicks. Julie and Theresa are incredible hosts. The property is great. And the animals are the star of the show. The cats and bunnies and chickens roam the grounds and my kids love that the cats will climb in their laps while sitting by the fire. Therev are goats and dogs and pigs and turkeys and ducks and geese... It's a zoo in the best way. The hot drink station is a real treat and while the port-a-potties are entirely sufficient (and clean) for most uses, it's really nice that you can pay a little extra to head inside for a hot shower. This was our first time staying at the Daisy site in the front of the property and while you can occasionally hear a car going by on the street, it's also one of the most isolated sites - we'd happily stay there again. Can't wait for our next trip!

Julie’s place was better than advertised! Great host and extremely accommodating. The site was better than expected. Julie thought of everything to make us feel welcomed. It’s close enough to town to step out and explore and just far enough for a peaceful weekend camping. I would recommend and we will be back!

I would highly recommend this campground! The campground was great. The people were very accommodating. The breakfast they made for us was outstanding! I would definitely order the breakfast at least once while you are there. My grandchildren loved the animals. We will definitely stay there again if possible.

As part of the Scooter and Boys in Scouting America program, I’ve had my fair share of camping trips, but this one was off the charts! 🌟 Imagine staying in a cozy tipi nestled in the woods, surrounded by a vibrant cast of friends—yes, I’m talking about farm animals! We had encounters with raccoons, cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, pigs, and so much more. Each moment was filled with adventure and laughter! And let’s not forget the perks: coffee available 24/7, impeccably maintained toilets, and hot showers to rejuvenate after a day of fun. It’s truly a hidden gem that I can’t recommend enough! I absolutely loved my stay! I camped in a small teardrop trailer and had plenty of space and privacy. The campsite had a mixture of sun and shade. I liked being close to the porta potty and I had a regular parade of chickens, turkeys, ducks, cats all roaming around. Still slept like a baby. Julie is a clear communicator and was able to answer all of my questions. The farm location itself is great — a short drive to hiking trails and small beach towns. So much to explore. I will definitely be back.

Nice stay. I chose the Hammock Haven site as it was the furthest back on the property and the quietest. Not as big as some of the other campsites there, but enjoyed the quiet.
