Overall, we had a good/mixed experience. My husband and I camped with our 3yo at Delilah's Kitty Korner site for 5 nights (long review).
I def underestimated how noisy a farm is at night! I'd suggest tent campers bring earplugs. I don't sleep well with them, and we were frequently woken by a braying donkey (once at 1am haha), barking dogs, and early roosters. The site is conveniently close to the porta potty, but the loud sound of the door shutting sometimes woke me when other campers were around. The site is very close to the pigs so we had flies and, depending on wind, twas pretty stinky (heat prob made worse). There’s a decent amount of poison ivy around the site to look out for (esp w kiddos). Raccoons apparently hadn't been an issue before, but we kept food and trash tightly secured overnight.
We didn't see our hosts as much as I thought we would based on reviews, but we met Julie on day two and she was kind and welcoming, even offering to freeze our water bottles to keep us cool. We weren’t reached out to, but Julie was almost always quick to respond by text about issues (hot water in the camp shower, raccoons raiding snack tent).
It was a hot week, but the site had enough shade for our tent and sometimes our van. We really liked our cat/chicken/duck visitors (cats will try to eat your food). Location was great. We visited South Haven, Saugatuck, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids (fun children's museum). For kids, we'd recommend the Outdoor Discovery Center in Holland.
