This was our second time staying at Boondock Ridge and it was another great experience! I love the views of the river from the dock and up on the ridge. The flowing artesian well adds such a magical touch to the campsite. We also appreciate the hosts bringing over more wood for us when we were running low! Thanks for sharing your space with us! Can’t wait to stay again!

Beautiful fall camping!!
We had a great time and would love to come back in the summer to take full advantage of the river! We found a nice atv trail in the woods to take a fall walk across the street just passed the park!! Kids loved having an extra space down by the river to play and the dog loved running up and down the hill and through the trees- ended up with several ticks on him so heads up!! Great weekend- we will deff be booking next summer :)

We loved this campsite!! Our two dogs enjoyed the water all day! We camped on the lower site...less traffic noise and safer for the pups! Loved the fresh water!! The outhouse is clean! Great privacy!! We will most definitely be back!!

The campsite was super nice. Nice water feature by the river. River water was cold but that didn’t keep the kids out. A very nice experience.

This place was AWESOME! There’s a sweet little fresh water spring and a dock right on a shallow spot in the river! Definitely coming back!

The site is huge! Also private even though you turn into it off M30. Very clean and well kept. The hosts do an excellent job of keeping this clean and ready for the next camper. Having a clean Artesian well for drinking right on site was a huge bonus, plus a toilet facility and a shallow, clean river was fantastic, especially for the nightly rate. My only complaint would be the traffic on M30. I camped in a small motorcycle tent camper. I read of this when I selected the site so it was not a surprise, however it did wake me a few times during the night. Thank you to the hosts, you have a great site there.

Beautiful Site!
Beautiful site on the river! We enjoyed the secluded feeling of not having other campers nearby & the artisan well was great! We enjoyed having access to constantly running water all day long! However, it is a short downhill hike to the lower camp. Thus, an uphill hike back up. The river is super shallow most of the way we floated down, which is nice to not have to worry so much about your little ones! It has a really nice sandy bottom too! The downside was the road noise (it’s a busy road!) even at night…Monday night was pretty noisy but it quieted down after that. Another problem we had was how hard the ground is! We spent at least 1/2hr digging out our tent stakes at the end of our trip! We really enjoyed our stay here overall! However, if you want peace & quiet (or just the sounds of nature) this is not the place for you. But if you’re looking for a secluded feeling of camping along the river w/nice amenities….picnic tables & fire pits at both top & bottom sites, a toilet that isn’t as stinky as an outhouse, & a nice big open grassy field & you don’t mind the road noise or coming & going of people at the roadside park across the street, then this is a great place to camp!

Everything you need
Best camp spot EVER! We always hate to leave. The river is knee high and thigh high at one spot by the bend. I let the kids and the dogs go while I chill in my hammock. The outhouse is just a place to 1 or 2 but its nicely made. The sunset above the pines is awesome. Its close to the highway but super quiet at night. The well water is clean and crisp. Lots of space up top. We had a great time, wish we could stay forever. Location is very easy to find.

The overlook was absolutely stunning and the campsites were very cool! It was simple to find and even though it’s close to the road the amount of trees fill the space so it’s very secluded. The river was so awesome to play in with froggies all over and beautiful sunset views. The bathroom was very clean and a trash can was right by the outhouse!

Private beautiful site
My family loves the private rustic area Boondock provides. The dock and river are always our favorite. Having the well is definitely a life saver and you are just a few miles from town. Mosquitoes are bad so be prepared. Also raccoons visit at night so don’t leave food out; normal for camping in the woods. 😊

Flowing waters on Boondock Ridge
This was our first Hipcamp experience and it was perfect! The site was very well maintained and clean. Even the outhouse was super cute and clean! You can tell Nick and Teresa have put lots of time and thought into making a wonderful campsite. We set up our tent on the lower site. It felt more secluded and cozy down there. The lower site has a dock on the river, a fire pit, a picnic table, and the beautiful artisan well! It was such a cool place to hang out! The river was shallow, very clear, and sandy bottom. The water was cold but we had so much fun playing and exploring in the river! As others have mentioned there is road noise since it’s right off a main road. This really didn’t bother us and wouldn’t deter us from staying again! Thank you so much Nick and Teresa for sharing your beautiful land with us! We would absolutely love to come back!

The beauty of nature’s amenities!
We loved our time staying at Nick and Teresa’s Boondock Ridge!! The land and river are gorgeous and inviting. The main site is right off the the road (but nicely shielded from it by a thick woods - great for privacy but you will inevitably hear road noise) and is comprised of a large clearing surrounded by woods with a nicely bricked fire ring, picnic table, bench over looking the ridge to the north and river below, cute and clean composting toilet outhouse, and trash dumpster. There is plenty of room here for a tent, tents, or camper, or for games of soccer or kickball. A short, downhill trail on the east side of the main site takes you another smaller clearing with a picnic table, a second fire ring, dock over the river and the artisanal spring. The spring water is delicious and cold, so refreshing. The river has a lively sandy bottom and was about 12 feet wide and 1.5-2 feet deep for a good 30-40 feet on either side of the dock - perfect for wading and exploring, playing catch with the dog, and floating on tubes or kayaks. Nick and Teresa were super hospitable and thoughtful, happy to bring firewood over, and easy to contact in the event of an issue. We look forward to returning! Things to note: the ridge on the main site is open the north and strong winds do blow through so be mindful of tent site selection. There is also a fair bit of poison ivy growing around outhouse area. As long as you stay on the paver path, you’ll be fine.

This was our family's second time staying at this location. My review stays the same. Amazing 2 spots to stay on. Bigger spot being on top of the hill with the beautiful view of the river, only downfall is traffic noises. Smaller spot down the trail, on the river. We camp here because we want privacy and woods. We get both here. Plan on camping again at this location.

Cool camp spot!
I loved the site it was clean and well taken care of seemed as if they put a lot of thought into having everything u need to make your experience a great one. A large area to tent camp and also pull your RV and turn around in. Two large fire pits, compost toilet which was very clean and trash bins at the property. Direct river access was nice to have as my 7 year old loved playing in it and really I found refreshing seeing the day we spent there was close to 100 degrees. Great little gem would recommend to there and would love to come back.

Gracious hosts. Beautiful site.
Nick and Teresa have provided a lovely, groomed site surrounded by nature. The composting outhouse is clean. The dock and river and trees are beautiful. The only downside for me was the proximity of M-30 which brings in a lot of road noise. That might be my own personal bias, the beauty and privacy may make up for that for others. If you like floating in rivers and having plenty of private space, this is for you!

We had a blast!
Me, 3 kids and 2 dogs. Nice huge space up top, great lil path down to the river. The water is very clean and the soft sandy bottom was great. The water isnt too deep about 2-3 ft. The campsite sits right on 30 but the traffic wasnt annoying or noticeable at night. The view up top is fantastic. The outhouse was really nice, clean and stocked. The well has very clean cold water. We camp alot but this is our new favorite spot. See ya next year!

For those of us who prefer a quiet time camping out, nothing can beat an experience like Boondock Ridge where you are the ONLY camper at the campsite, even on the busiest weekends and holidays of year. Also, for us, the drive from our home in southeast Michigan to Boondock Ridge was less than three hours. Highly recommended and we will be back

This camping spot was absolutely perfect for my husband, 3 dogs, and I. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, scenery, and my dogs living their best lives swimming. We kayaked to Secord Lake, went bike riding, and relaxed in the great outdoors. I wasn't sure I was using the composting toilet (I've never used one before) but I'm glad it was provided. The artesian well was wonderful also!! I'm hoping to revisit again in the future. Spectacular people with a spectacular little piece of property.

I loved the tent camping site on Teresa's land. The views were beautiful and the The directions to the camp site where easy to Navigate. We did not have other campers around us so we had the place to ourselves They had a beautiful path that led to a dock and a water system that came out of the land absolutely gorgeous I will recommend this place and I will definitely be back.

We stayed for one night with a tent. Nick and Teresa were very helpful prior to our trip and were quick to respond to our messages. The location is beautiful, right along a river. The top area is very spacious and gave us lots of area to run around with our dog. The outhouse was clean and well kept. We parked our car at the top but there is a short path that leads down to another area where we set up our tent. Both the top and bottom areas are really pretty, there is potable water and access to the river from the bottom area. One thing to note is this location is very very close to a busy road. The noise from the cars was noticeable through out the day and can see cars passing from the location. At night this was not an issue especially since we set up our tent farther down the path and it quieted down enough to sleep. This is a perfect spot for rv camping but it was quite noisy and not very secluded when tent camping.

Fantastic Boondocking!
Boondock Ridge was very pleasant. As many have said, the road noise was something to deal with during the day, but at night, you almost forget it's there. Nick and Teresa were wonderful hosts. The view from this property was outstanding! This was the perfect boondock site. There was plenty of sunlight for solar needs, yet plenty of shade to the side for a hammock. The outhouse was immaculate. The spring for water was easily accessible, and quite a nice touch. The firepit was HUGE. I will definitely be back
