This is a friendly and well-managed campground with flush toilets and a sink nearby, easy electrical hookup, and even two clean - and free - showers! The sites were about half the size of what we’re used to, so I’d consider a premium site for next time.

We really loved the shade and privacy of the campground. Unfortunately, we saw poison ivy on our site and i got in to it. Im highly allergic.
We appreciate that you loaned us an extension cord to bring power to our site.

This was my first time using this app, and the campground said it was theirs, too. Upon arriving to Black River Trails Campground I was greeted by friendly people and found out that unfortunately my site had been double booked, and the campground was experiencing a power outage!! The owners put us in a spot that was kind of make-shift, which was fine for us because we had plans in town seeing family that weekend so I knew we wouldn’t be there for the “full camping experience”. The owners brought us over a generator and tended to it, to make sure we could keep on like normal and have our fridge up and running to keep our groceries all cold. The only thing I would have changed about it is, I wish we had a fire pit and a picnic table- we didn’t get to have a fire until Saturday night because our family came to stay at a cabin on the second night, they had a fire pit, however, it was an adorable little cabin, and everything you need if you don’t want to bring a tent. There was quite a bit of poison ivy and sumac around which was only hard to keep my toddler out of, but older kids would be fine. The bathrooms were great and the showers were a bit confusing at first (hot and cold were reversed) but that’s an easy fix once you realize it! Nice and spacious for changing after showering too. The fishing was great and everyone joined in! I think that this situation can be a learning experience- and we would still definitely camp here again.

Camp is under new ownership in the last year and the work they've been doing really shows! The owners are really giving it their all to make this place special and I can't wait to see what they've done with the place next year! Kayaking was great and the cabins were perfect for what we needed.

Mike & Rocky are the absolute best camp hosts! Very accommodating, great guys. Our boys loved kayaking and fishing at the campsite. It felt like home away from home. Definitely recommend. We will be going back.

The sites were very spacious. We had a shaded spot on the river. Options for electricity and water were great. The hosts were very nice and checked in often to see if we needed anything. Plenty of parking for our large truck. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice campground. Sites are small for tents. Decent size for campers. Water and flush toilets. Electricity. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Store only takes cash. You can order wood and they deliver. That was really nice. Quiet campground was appreciated.

It was a small campground very quiet, the guy who maintains it seemed very nice and always checked in!
The only thing I would be aware of is the bathrooms are not the cleanest, there was never any hand soap but that’s the only thing. Overall I’d give it a 4 out of 5 star review!

The host was extremely hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed. We arrived during a terrible storm and he gave us a cabin for the first night at no extra charge. Perfect for a family camping weekend. Important to note, they should give disclosures for the kayaking as it’s in the middle of an outdoor gun range and is blocked by fallen logs in multiple spots. Also, the host and his friends arrived at our campsite late at night trying to join us, as young women it was a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, a great trip!

This campground is perfect for a getaway. Mike is amazing and helped us put our kayaks in the river so we could have a nice float back down to the campsite. There are showers and working toilets. We will be back!

First Season Open and you would never know it! Very well operated and maintained …with heart & soul! Owner, groundsman and office staff were super hospitable and personable! Our tent camping at Black River was perfect for a quick getaway! We had electric at our site and access to bathrooms/showers and water. Next visit we plan to take advantage of the kayak rentals! Thanks for the stay, Black River Campground!
