The property was originally owned by a family name Nichols (thus the name of the lake). It was handed down to the sons who each owned half the property. The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our totally private fresh water lake. Take your boat out for a day of fishing or just chill next to the fire. Sites are approximately 50 feet from each other. If you want privacy we suggest you book both.

Guests can also use our free shelf, book exchange, instruments, and art supplies. We also have business grade fiber-optic Wi-Fi guests can use throughout our property.
Outside, guests are welcome to use our grills, picnic tables, hammocks, games, and communal firepit, or explore our wooded walking trails. Our outdoor areas are pet friendly. Guests also have access to our brand new on-site camp store and thrift store.

Bells Acres is a large property with abundant history! Originally homesteaded by a Finnish family in the 1800s, we are only the 4th family to own this property. Doc Bell operated his veterinarian practice from this farm starting in 1915, giving his name to the creek running through the property and the lake it feeds. A family from Finland purchased the property from the Bell family in the 1960s and lived on the homestead until 2020 when we purchased it. We hope to continue the tradition of generational homesteading, while sharing this piece of God’s country with you!

Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 6 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana.
The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk.
Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor.
Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards, shops and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries.
There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes.
A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive.
We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay.
We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.
New this year is our chicken coop and run. We (Bill) has always wanted chickens.

We had a great time! Tent sites were easy to access, with a lot of shade and lots of flat land for comfortable sleeping. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly.
We plan to be back for weekend festivities!

1 night at Vibe CAMP!
I was the 1st to stay at vibe camp. Kirk was very welcoming. Had things setup perfectly. It was very private and peaceful. With the work that I do. I need the rest to recharge, vibe camp was perfect for that. I’ve been doing hipcamp for a month now. Doing a 3 months camp trip to experience the area more. Out of several places I’ve stayed at vibe camp is the 2nd best I’ve been to. Trust me there are places on this app that are not what it has advertised. But vibe camp is exactly what it says it is and is clean and safe. A lot of women using this app from my experience of meeting them along the way. They deserve to know what is safe and clean and what is not. Dalton camp and Vibe Camp are the two best places on this app for western Michigan.

The cabin and facilities were absolutely wonderful! The communal “bin” area was a really nice surprise; the bathroom and shower areas were very clean and modern, the self-checkout area and all of the goodies and drinks was a nice touch and the upstairs gaming area our family had so much fun at. The communal “outdoor” area was fantastic as well with the hammocks, gaga ball pit, teacher ball area and play structure. What an absolute treat all the way around!

Wonderful service, friendly staff, self-serve ice and firewood for purchase on site, hot shower super close, nice bathroom, we tented and everything was quiet, not packed like bigger campgrounds, this is a small one which is what we prefer. We would definitely camp here again! Slept well!

We had such a great stay here! Site 34 was super spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms were really nice and clean. Having the rafting right at the campground was also incredibly convenient and made everything so easy. The owners were extremely nice, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. And of course, we loved meeting Biscuit, the cutest campground dog! 🐶❤️ We would definitely stay here again!

Great place! Even has a gated entrance for security. Quiet and quaint and had everything we needed and wanted. We were tenting and thankful many of the sites included a car canopy which came in handy when it rained. Hosts were friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend!!

The experience was incredible! One of the best camping experiences ever. Julie was so welcoming and shared the history of the land. Everything was so intentional and well thought out. Easy access to camping spots and the nature around was stunning! The creek was so lovely and the dunes, bath house with a lovely shower and bathtub and kitchen/hangout area in the barn was so comforting and it was an amazing balance of rustic camping with amenities for a easeful experience. Had so much fun and recommend this camping space! Would love to camp again at Angel Dunes! It was a good distance from Traverse City and peaceful and enchanting!

Loved our time here. We were driving motorcycles and had no problems getting to the site right on the river. They delivered our campfire wood right to our site. Super polite and helpful. Met the group camping beside us and realized they were from the same county in Ohio as us. I'd recommend a stay here for sure. Clean restrooms, nice warm showers as well. Thank you and I hope we meet again.

Elli’s Lazy Days is now at the top of my favorites list as far as campsites go! We stayed an entire week while exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and it served as a perfect home base. Julie and Eric were wonderful and friendly hosts and checked on us regularly, the bathrooms were always clean and stocked, and there was a store of ice and firewood available for campers all week. Our view of the night sky was gorgeous! We’re already talking about coming back next year ♥️

the host greeted me on arrival gave me a tour and explained everything available to use. the host was always asking if i needed anything. they are onsite working they keep there distance to give you your privacy. the cabin was great clean quiet and a great view. very nice covered porch over looking horses. the cowboy town was a neat thing to walk around. alot of trails to explore on site. the stream was a great place to cool off. this is a great place to stay and relax. a great location to unplugged and relax.

I like a lot here was very quiet was passing through while headed to a couple different sites in Michigan definitely would do again if you’re looking for a quiet atmosphere head here definitely not a place where you should be being loud
