We had a great stay and really enjoyed our time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! The location was a great home base for exploring Keweenaw County, Gratiot River County Park, Copper Harbor, and the scenic drive along M-26. We also made the drive up Brockway Mountain to the West Bluff Scenic View, which was absolutely beautiful.
The camper is about 6 years old, so some normal wear and age are to be expected. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay and we really enjoyed our trip. The owners were very nice and accommodating, and we would definitely consider staying here again.

Perfect setting for the area. Nicely secluded, very friendly hosts!
As a review for a 2nd visit, I’ll review Blue Jay. Montana was our 1st. We usually tent & can rough it. When I pay this much $/night, I expect more. Small things. The paper towel fell off/apart. The potable water smells/tastes like an additive making all water smell/taste awful. Cringe thinking anything is clean (both RV’s). Not a big deal til we’re falling asleep & there’s a critter in the ceiling above the master-feet above my face. It left after banging on the ceiling, down the side & out the wall of the RV, but anxious waiting for it to return. Which it did several times a night. I texted the following morning, he brought out more mouse deterrent bags (already distributed around the RV). When I texted about it the 2nd morning & the hours we were up because of it, that part of the text was ignored. The critter/lack of sleep really bothered us. Stressed sleeping+lack of sleep can really ruin a vacation. The rest of the text was re: the shower tub that wouldn’t drain from the the night before. They opened the drain so the water (kitchen/bathroom sink) could flow onto the ground. No tank. It rained, a window leaked. Another text & 3 soaked bath towels later, we left to find water blocking our exit of the site. Noting for those with a low profile car. We typically visit the Keweenaw 3 times/yr & wanted this to be a great option but it’s not. The location is great, the pics look nice, but quality is not worth the money, lack of sleep, and comfort.
Howard and Diane were gracious hosts, both offering to take us for a tour of the property and giving us space to enjoy nature in solitude. Thank you for the stay and can’t wait to be back in July.
We loved staying here!! The camper was spacious, affordable, comfy and cozy! The area was clean and peaceful. Howard was so kind and checked on us to make sure everything was going well. We will definitely be back!!

26 Ft. Camper Bear Cave
Our family of five plus our pup really enjoyed staying in the 26 foot camper. It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed from linens for the beds, towels, to kitchen supplies. Howard was a great host and responded quickly to any questions I had. This was the perfect location right off 41 which made it super easy to explore all that Keweenaw has to offer, including being close to all the trails. We brought our Jeeps and had so much fun exploring the northern top of the peninsula all the way down to Houghton.
Great spot, would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful camper in the woods! We loved the experience of staying here and exploring the surrounding area. Very private spot, with a beautiful view of wildflowers from the windows and friendly hosts. We would definitely stay here again, and hope to do the quad tour with Howard next time! Definitely recommended!

Great Place. The beds were really comfortable! Would stay there again.
The camper seemed brand new! Everything was clean and worked well. Located on their property in the woods. It was peaceful and quiet, but still only about 10 minutes from town where we grabbed a nice dinner. Also, convenient to many locations in the beautiful UP. Check-in and check-out were seamless. The hosts were kind and accommodating. They even offered to let us grab our own eggs from their chicken coop. A really nice place to stay with our pups! Thank you!

Howard is so welcoming. Our family of five had a blast in the UP and already want to come back to the Bear Cave next summer. Perfect location. Family friendly.
We had the best time. Great location, lots of privacy. The camper was clean and accommodating. We had fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast. We even got to see the northern lights right from our site. We can’t wait to go back. A hidden gem in the Keweenaw.

We loved our stay here. Peaceful campground that was very quiet at night, spotlessly clean and well stocked camper. We were in town for a friend's wedding, and it was the perfect place to rest in between our busy itinerary. Wonderfully centrally located spot, it seemed like anything we wanted to do was within 5-20 minutes in either direction. We would definitely stay here again.
The BearCave was perfect! Quiet, private, very clean, and inviting. We made a late arrival and Howard was kind enough to meet us by the road and lead us right to our spot. After driving 8 hrs, he couldnt have made it easier for us. This was a quick trip this time! Convenient and affordable for our needs.

The Salem camper was perfect! Everything set and I didn't have to worry about setting up anything but my fire! Howard and Diane are wonderful hosts! I will camp here again!
Camper was completely set up. Only thing we needed were camp chairs and I brought stuff for campfire cooking. Howard and his wife were wonderful. They had planned to close. But extended it another week because weather was still good. Very peaceful setting and sites not packed tight. Definitely worth staying

Showing up, I wasn't sure where to go since I didn't see the office/building shown in the listing. It was a grassy spot with fire pit, port-a-potty, and camping sink, which was good. It was pretty close to US-41, so we could hear the traffic most of the night.
We loved our recent stay! The camper was clean, on a beautiful wooded property with towering pines. Star gazing was amazing! Connects to ATV trails and convenient to Houghton and the northern peninsula - right off 41 south of Calumet. Howard and family were so kind, offering ATV tips and tours, fishing and fresh eggs from the hens on property. Loved meeting the house pups, too! Highly recommend this option for RV/camping lovers! Thanks, Howard!

Awesome secluded area. Camper was comfy and clean.
The Hart’s were beyond hospitable. My best friend and I were given a tour of we’re beyond hospitable. My best friend and I were given a tour of the property on the four wheelers which was a thrilling little bonus to the trip we had already planned to Isle Royale. The RV that we stayed in was very very clean and included just about everything we needed for a comfortable evening. Without hesitation, I would stay at this location again in the future.
Great place. Exactly as described. Host was wonderful and very helpful since we got on late the first night. If the opportunity arise would love to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here, it was very quiet and close to mtb trails and the lake
Nice wooded camping area, very private while we stayed as there were no other campers. Definitely checking out the rustic sites next time we like complete solitude when we go since we’re city people.

Coyote Den
Great location for exploring the keewenaw, perfect fall colors while I was there, and nice quite and clean place to relax. I definitely plan to come back! I especially liked having a place to stay with my dog.
We loved staying in the Coyote Den on Howard's property. He had the camper all ready for our arrival even though it was a last minute booking. Everything was clean and neat...pads of paper, playing cards, eating dishes and the Keurig was an excellent touch! Firewood was available for us onsite, Howard was available had we needed anything. Overall a very pleasant stay!
