We enjoyed our stay , the site was clean and the view was beautiful ! We did have some difficulty getting our 5th positioned it s 34 ft with the uneven ground and tight turn radius. I would say it’s better for smaller campers. Did not use the port a pot .
We had a great time camping here! The site was private although there are neighbors on both sides. There was plenty of tree cover and most of the time nobody was there which made it pretty quiet. There is some road noise but not continuous. There are trees between you and the road. The port a potty was a little full but usable. It has a nice circle loop to get in and out easily. There was a nice flat spot super close to the water to park our 22 foot camper. So awesome to hear the waves with our windows open. They have a nice picnic table to use. There’s also a nice big fire pit over to the side. It was nice and shaded by the fire pit area. The sun comes right in your camp in the evening. Beautiful sunsets every night. We caught a bunch of walleye and a couple of small mouths. There are lots of beautiful waterfalls nearby. The host was very quick to respond when we were looking for the water. There is a hose across the driveway at the neighbors. The first one you pass coming into the driveway. Overall it was awesome and we will be coming back.
This is a lovely spot. It is right on the water, has both shade and sun, is quiet and easy to access.
This stay was better than we could have ever imagined!!! Beautiful, large secluded lot right on the lake. Situated on the bay so swimming was more wading but worked perfectly for my kids and some tubes!!!! This property is perfect for anyone looking to unhook and unwind. Looking forward to staying again!

This was such a peaceful place to camp and a wonderful way to experience Lake Superior. If privacy is high on your list, I think you'll really enjoy this HipCamp. The campsite is tucked among the trees, making it feel quiet and secluded, yet you're only a few steps from the water.
One of my favorite parts of this stay was the shoreline. The water is shallow enough that you can walk out quite a ways before it gets deep, which made it a great place to relax and cool off. I also rented one of the host's kayaks for just $5, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. Paddling around Huron Bay and seeing the shoreline from the water was so much fun and definitely worth adding to your stay.
Another nice bonus is the full loop driveway, so there's no backing into the campsite. After towing a camper all day, I always appreciate an easy pull-in and pull-out site!
You can hear a little traffic from the nearby road, but for me, the privacy and beautiful waterfront more than made up for it. The location is also close to several beautiful waterfalls, making it a great base camp for exploring the area.
If you're looking for a quiet, private campsite with easy access to Lake Superior and the opportunity to kayak right from your campsite, I highly recommend this HipCamp. I would happily stay here again.
It was a nice space, open, right on the lake. Neighbors on each side, no interaction. Trees / bushes seclude the space. Reserved a Kayak, which was not there. Never found the potable water either. There was no cell service. Very close to main road / highway.
My partner, dogs and I loved tent camping on Pat’s land! The lake (bay) was so close, and it was so quiet and private there. It was well worth the extra time to get there!

We've stayed here 3 times and will be back next year!
Stunning site! A bit of a challenge for our 38’ class C….but managed. Unparalleled views and very private. Road down a bit angled. All in all a must see! Hope to come back for a longer visit! Dogs happy on the beach!
This is beautiful place. Your surrounded by trees on 3 sides minus where you pull in. In front of you is the bay. The fire pit has one high side and 3 low sides, which was nice for cooking. There is a picnic table, shovel, rake and ax and a clothes line left to use. There was also enough wood left for 2 or3 fires. Unfortunately it rained as we got there so alot of it was wet. They leave a hose with a sprayer by the entrance on a tree limb for water use. He did also supply the wifi password. You can walk out a good distance in the water before it drops off. Yes, you can hear some traffic from the main rd. But its more of background noise. The sunrise is not "in your face" nor is the sunset, it goes down behind some mts. But the bay is in the west side

This woodsy site on Huron Bay was fabulous for our family trip. We have a small pop-out camper that just fit on a spot with a great view of the water, and that left just one other small level spot for our kids' tent. It might prove challeging to fit a large rig.
It was great to have water fill up right there, and the convenience store down the road with all the basics.
The sandy beach area fun. It goes out a long ways before dropping off, which makes swimming and fishing a bit challenging. It's more of a wading beach. Our dog loved it.
There are houses on either side of the site, but they are not really visible through the decent stretch of woods and no one was there while we were there. There is a bit of road noise, but it's not all that busy and there is a thick screen of woods between the site and the road. The neighbor's dock is massive and juts out into deeper water mockingly beckoning you to go where you cannot tresspass.
The kayaks for rent did not come with plugs (they were definitely taking on water) or life vests, so they were a bit unsafe to take too far out in the bay, and they were a bit small for the 200+ lb people in our group. Fortunately we brought our canoe and managed to catch a single northern pike in 3 days. We saw quite a few fish jump, heard many birds, and had an ermine boldly cut through camp in front of us.
The only real complaint we had was that the porta-potty was unusable. We can deal with gross, but this one was beyond that.
Easy to find, great lake view, small sandy beach, and you can walk out a long way. Good paddling in kayaks when wind is right. Be prepared to get creative with out steering wheel to position your 20 foot plus trailer for optimum lake views. Private with some road noise but not too bad. Glad we didn't have a need for the porta john as it is inches from being filled. Also both of our phones were infected from the wifi provided. Within seconds we lost them....had to run to the att store in Houghton to find out they are now rendered useless. Bought burner phones from Walmart to finish our vacation. Finns is close for some good bar food and beverages. Few lesser known waterfalls for some short hikes.
Very nice few with a wonderful sandy beach and waterfront. Plenty of eagles, loons, and sturgeon jumping out front. Prepare to get creative behind the steering wheel to position your 20 plus foot trailer for the best view but it can be done. Fire pit is just ok and the porta john hasn't been pumped out in a long time ( glad we use our trailer for those things). Close to Finn Bar for lunch if needed and a few hikes to local waterfalls. Lastly, within seconds of connecting our Android phones to the local internet provided we were infected by a virus and both of devices need a factory reset.... currently working to get a backup done without passing on virus to the cloud storage.
Beautiful camping site. Completely private, grassy, and right on the lake. The sunsets are absolutely amazing!
Great lakefront site with lots of privacy. Campsite is a clearing separated from the main house. You have the whole area to yourself. An added bonus is the site has a full loop to enter and exit easily.
We enjoyed staying at Pat’s place. It is located on Huron Bay on Lake Superior just outside of L’Anse. The campsite is located past his place but enough woods between the house and the next residence to enjoy privacy. Pat was not on site but quickly responded to all questions that I had for him. Some firewood was supplied for first night…we left some for the next guest. Planning on returning again sometime. Only downside was the port o’ potty was small. A permanent outhouse a little larger would give this a 5 star rating. 😊

Nice view and it was very quiet! The bay was great for an early morning polar plunge!
A really great place to camp. We absolutely loved it. You can launch your paddle board right from the site.
Private and safe.
(Also, the outhouse was clean)
I went here with a small group and it was a wonderful experience. It was hard to get everyone to leave. It’s such a beautiful area and being able to rent kayaks from the owner was a definite bonus. It was quiet, peaceful, and private. It’s also quite a large lot. We had a blast and already plan to come back when we’re in the area again.

This was the perfect tent camping location. Beautiful sunsets, private and safe area with plenty of room for your campsite set up. The water was clean and clear and the access right at your site made for lots of time on the paddle boards. I definitely recommend this site for anyone wanted to enjoy the beauty of the UP
I travel 3.5 hours to get here and I’ve been here a number of times.
This latest trip was full of eagle sightings my entire stay. A bald eagle and two juveniles best I could tell. All day everyday. Right over me as I st on the beach, repeatedly. In the adjacent trees on the site, repeatedly. Always visible while kayaking.
My last visit last year was the northern lights. It’s always been an adventure. Plenty do do around you. Great drives. Great hikes. You just have to find them.

We are return campers here! This is our favorite spot. Very private and gorgeous area, the private beach and cheap kayak rentals are always a plus and make for a fun time! The host is very helpful and responsive, there’s always been firewood there everytime as well. There is a port a potty there that is stocked and has always been pretty clean when weve been there (for a porta potty).
Great place to come with friends to have a fun camping trip instead of having to get multiple campsites in a public campground where you can hear/see your neighbor campers the whole time.

Repeat visitor. Great location as base camp or pushing out on the kayak at site when you feel. Considering the location to the Porcupines, local roads, trails and water it’s probably one of the best Hipcamps in the UP, imo.
Camping is what you make of it and this camp is a great property to make it all happen.

Beautiful location. Unfortunately the weekend we went started with a burn ban due to weather, then a storm. Obviously neither can be helped. The toilet was a porta potty but seemed to be recently cleaned. Zero cell service, which wouldn’t be too much of a problem except for a sick dog and sad kid at home. Maybe add the WiFi password in the confirmation? We drove back to town to get a message home and to the host and he was very quick to respond with the password. Would definitely stay again! It was beautiful and the water was so clear!

Very nice spot! The lake was stunning. Sandy beach and could walk out pretty far. Not too far from town. If u need firewood, the small little gas station heading out of town before the hill has a number on hand for someone to get firewood from. Looking forward to going out there again.
