Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground!
We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”
In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.
Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work!
Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. Knowing that you chose our resort to support, means a lot to our Superior Times and Resort family team. We truly appreciate your loyalty and give special thanks to our returning customers. Our property is located between Marquette and Negaunee, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We are 7 miles from downtown Marquette, 8 miles from the shores of beautiful Lake Superior and 53 miles from Pictured Rocks National Park. We are about 4 miles off of US 41 nestled in a quiet forest like setting.
We built our home here in 2019 and are continually making improvements to the land. We tap our trees for maple syrup in the spring-you will drive by our "sugar shack" and raise chickens in our very nice coop -no roosters to awaken you!

There is guest internet but its patchy in camping area-better closer to the house and large firepit area
There is a charcoal grill near communal firepit area.
We are near 2 river basins(McClure Basin and Dead River Basin) for fishing, swimming and boating ( kayaks and canoe for rent on this site-see extras! ) We are on the route of the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike epic and not far from the North Country Trail.
We have options of open sites and a couple more private wooded sites. There are at least two areas for small campers and several choices for tents and/or hammocks..
There is a communal/central fire pit, picnic table area as well as a larger fire pit with picnic table closer to house. We have nice fire wood available on site -see "extras" or for purchase when you get here!
There are yard games, extra chairs and a small table in the red shed. This can also be used as a storm shelter if needed!
There is a "port-a-john" on site- extra TP is kept in red shed hanging on nail in a bag. Please let us know if this needs attention.

2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie & Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and Lake Michigan, 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo and just under an hour from Grand Rapids.
Those of you who have visited in the past will notice that we significantly downsized this year. Due to Township and State regulations, we are now limited to offering only four campsites unless we get licensed, which at this time is cost prohibitive. So, we have selected the four most highly rated sites and upgraded them, to truly make your experience here special.
About half of the 20 acres is wooded, with walking trails around the property, to include our fish stocked pond and a little tributary of the Black River.
All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table.
We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water.
A free refreshment bar is available 24/7. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack and a hot or cold drink.
You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (for a fee).
We are a working farm and registered as two Non-Profits. One an animal rescue, primarily working with cats. At any given day we have 20-30 cats roaming around the farm. All are under the care of our vet, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and treated for fleas and ticks. All important because they will want to interact with you. Some will want to sleep with you.
Our 100 plus flock of poultry, comprised of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys, free range during the day, so leave the Prada's at home.
If you are staying at Sam's Place, your closest neighbors will Penelope and Petunia, our two female sister pigs. The prevailing winds are down from your site, but you may hear them squabble. Our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats will love your attention and treats we can provide. Arriving in March is Jack, a miniature donkey...we are very excited!
Please try to check-in by 8pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

This is not for everyone, but if you want to come and commune with nature and enjoy some peace and quiet, then this is the spot for you!
Our goal to provide a peaceful, quiet ambiance for all our guests and so we don’t allow loud music and we require adherence of our quiet hours from 10pm to 10 am. If you’re using a generator, please run it during the day until 10pm, so that it’s not running all through the night.

Llama Meadows Farm is a sixteen acre organic fruit and vegetable farm. Located in Beautiful Benzie Country, in Northwestern Lower Michigan. We are one mile south of Crystal Lake and six miles east of Lake Michigan. Our-house is super insulated and passive solar. We had llamas for their wool and manure.
We retired from raising llamas, we had 12 they got old and moved on. We have
around 50 fruit trees. The fruit we grow includes apples, pears, figs and paw paws. We also grow grapes, and kiwis, we also put in filberts, walnuts and pecans. We have a beautiful labyrinth peace garden.
We don't want barbecue pits on the ground it burns the grass

My rural property is nestled between cherry and apple orchards.
We have two large, level RV/Tent sites. Site 1 is a partially shaded pull in site on a gravel pad, with a large level grassy area next to it. Site 2 is a sunny and grassy back in site. Both have 30 amp power, water and wifi. The sites are nice and spacious with fire ring and picnic table. In view of quiet rural road on one side, forest on the other. Surrounded by 600 acres of cherry and apple orchards.
Quiet Wooded Frankfort Campsite - Private tent only camp site (supply your own tent) in the woods. Just a short 200 foot walk up the hill into the woods from your parking spot. Water spigot on your site, and 12v solar generator supplied to provide lighting and USB charging of your important devices.
There is an outhouse (commercial porta-jon serviced after each weekend) and an outdoor heated shower in a private stall between the sites.

We’re repeat campers here for many reasons. We love this camp! Betty and Marty are excellent hosts and kind humans. Warm and welcoming.. The farm is beautifully maintained and the facilities are great. Cutest and cleanest outhouse I’ve ever seen and the shower is great too. Robert was a great host with excellent communication! He met us at the site upon arrival. We had a tent & it had been raining so he gave us many options of the driest areas for setup. We chose closer to the street since we knew we were leaving early in the morning but there was hardly any traffic at night & it was quiet. He has plenty of spaces back further into the woods for even more peace. We came for Frankenmuth dog fest as did some others & it was completely dog friendly with no issues with barking. It’s only 15 min from Frankenmuth & 3 minutes from Loves Truck Stop/bathroom for a shower if needed. We would definitely stay here again for our travels! Thanks for making our stay so comfortable Robert! :)

I had a great time solo camping on Beth & Jeff's land!
10/10 would recommend, I felt safe the entire time & like I had the whole place to myself, I didn't actually meet Beth or Jeff but they were communicative, sent me a map of the sites & let me know to bring bug spray for the skooters, Also there's an older negative review that claims the owner has cameras up, that's not true, those are solar powered motion lights so you don't twist an ankle walking to the garbage can. Don't be fooled by the central location, yes it's close & convenient to a bunch of cool stuff to do BUT it really does offer that "out in the woods away from civilization" vibe campers look for, it doesn't feel (or sound) like you're just 5 minutes away from the city. The bird watching was also amazing and I woke up to see a few ground squirrels playing a game of tag, so cute.
The cons, which are totally normal nature things & not real cons at all, the first site right past the water pump has a ton of brambles around the edges & a little resident copperhead, out of the way but something to keep in mind if you're bringing any little humans, maybe skip that one & move to the next spot over, the other sites I walked to didn't seem to have quite as many brambles though. Bring your bug spray, the mosquitoes are out - my hosts forwarded me though so I had my spray and my mosquito net for my hammock ready.

We stayed at Sam's Place Bell Tent for one night of our spring "moms weekend" with 4 moms and 4 babies/toddlers in early May and had a great time!
Julie's farm was easy to find. We were able to just call her using the contact info in our reservation once we arrived and she came right out to meet and gave us an orientation of the space. Julie is so sweet and friendly and really went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and set for our stay.
Julie had cots with cushions as well as an air mattress (added to our booking in advance) set up in the bell tent before we arrived. There was a buddy heater with propane tank ready for us (VERY appreciated as the temps were in the 30s overnight) and a welcome bucket with assorted snacks, smores kit, and even pack of fire coloring tablets for our campfire. A very generous bundle of firewood was on the site, a picnic table, sunbrella, a couple of camp chairs, and twinkle lights around the tent. Her usual refreshments station wasn't quite set up for the season yet so she made a point of bringing us a large thermos of hot water and everything we could need for warm beverages!
A water spigot and porta potty nearby provided for essential needs and we all enjoyed meandering the farm and seeing the friendly animals.
Lovely space, great host, and fun time for kids and adults alike.

It’s a fun place, more directed towards adults. We did bring our kids but I felt it wasn’t a place for them. It’s relaxing and is continuing to build. It’s great for groups. None the less we all had fun and the people running it are nice and helpful.

The camp ground is very nicely laid out, clean, and accessable. I'd be happy to stay there again, preferably when there's not several feet of snow covering the ground like on my first visit. Still, it was an extremely comfortable stay.

I had a quiet and peaceful stay at Dragon, Adventure Base Camp. Mark was an excellent host. I had an opportunity to slay the dragon and bike the complete distance around Hardy pond during my stay. I would highly recommend this hip camp. I will be back.
