This fun property is just under 7 acres - butted up to another 12 acres of public land (and boat launch) with trails, boardwalk and a dock on 51 acre Lake Eleven. The property is shared by (2) full-hook up RV sites and a cabin. If available, the cabin and sites may be rented together however the owners, Jim and Maria, use the cabin much of the summer leaving just the RV sites available. The property is at mile market 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail - the midpoint. The Kal-Haven Trail is a biking, cross-country skiing, walking, running, snowmobiling - you name it, the trail that goes 34 miles from Kalamazoo to South Haven. Literally steps from the property and you are on the trail. But you may not need to leave the property, with 6.3 acres of woods and field, with trail cut through PLUS the added public lands butted up to Tincan's property line, giving almost 20 acres to roam. Each RV site - far enough apart to be separate, close enough if you and friends/family want to camp together, has a fire pit and fireplace. Each RV site offers water, 30|50AMP electrical and septic. The dock may have availability for keeping you boat - please inquire. There are kayaks and some bikes (mostly teen and adult size) that may be used. These are shared amenities for the cabin and campsite guests and offered on a first come, first serve basis. There are surprises galore around the property; big foots to be found tucked around the property, games, and overall just a fun place to be. This was a run-down fishing cabin Jim and Maria lovingly brough back to life as a second home and they delight in sharing it. Jim often referred to it as "The Tincan" while working on it as it was - indeed, a tin shack and the name stuck. Kate, your booking coordinator, helps Jim and Maria tend to the administrative side of getting the property booked and keeping the details in order. Once booked you'll get contact info for Kate, who will take care of most communications and logistics, and Jim/Maria who will also be available to help as needed.

Part of Tincamp Camp - an almost 7 acre plot of land, is shared with Tincan Cottage and (2) full-service RV sites. All lodging/sites are far enough apart to afford privacy - but certainly could also be rented all together for a larger group. RV sites offer water, 30|50 AMP electric, and septic hook up. Currently grass, concrete will be poured sometime Spring 2023. The (2) RV sites are further apart than standard camp ground and arranged so you'll be mostly looking out at the woods. While there is not a water view here, a 600 or so foot walk gets you to Lake Eleven, a 51 acre all-sports lake. The lake access via dock is not ideal beach, but the kayaks (a shared amenity) or a quick boat ride (bring your own boat) gets you swimming on a hot day. Each RV site comes with a picnic table and fire ring. Grills are onsite and may be used (shared amenity). Sites are large; up to 45 foot or so would be fine, if not a bit larger (feel free to inquire). We have plenty of room for your boat trailer as well; the property is next to the public boat access (which also adds about 12 more acres of accessible land to wander). Dock space may be available for your boat - please inquire (FCFS) Don't forget the bikes - we are at mile 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail, a 34 miles bike trail from Kalamazoo to South Haven. This 3 bedroom/1 bath cabin - not too long ago a delipidated and collapsing fisherman cabin is now a delightful, whimsical 820 sqft cabin offering all the comforts of home. Jim and Maria, the owners, adore this spot and have made it their own - and are delighted to share it. The cabin is best for no more than 4 adults; the bunk beds have a 150 pound weight limit. We allow up to 6 people but only 4 adults. With a fully stocked kitchen, window a/c, and heat you can expect to be comfortable regardless of when you stay. Linens, basics like paper towels and toilet paper (reasonable amounts to get started at least) and some pantry staples make it easy to to show up, toss your stuff down and get to the fun stuff. Outside, you'll enjoy views through the neighbors to the lake, or meander the property, down the boardwalk or newly cut trails that meander through out down to the access point and dock. A couple kayaks - w lifevests and paddles, are available on a first come first serve basis as our some bikes (mostly for the bigger kids ). Guests who come include fisherman, hunters, cyclists, snowmobilers and those just looking for a unique, fun getaway close to some of the west michigan amenities - wineries, coastal little towns, while appreciated the more laidback appeal of Tincan Camp. Maybe MY favorite thing (okay, lots to love about Tincan!) is its a fantastic bike ride into South Haven, if biking is your thing! Nearby Bloomingdale offers all the convenient so you don't have to go far - and plenty of fun little spots to explore. With (2) full hook up RV sites on the property, you'll be sharing the space - or rent them yourself and get a crew together and take over the whole Tincan Camp.

I love coming to Tin Can Camp! The quiet setting, beautiful boardwalk, and gorgeous lake! Peaceful, and perfect if you enjoy biking the Kal-Haven trail was ablaze with color. Can’t wait till next year.

A great place for a quiet getaway. Peaceful and private, these spots are a short walk to the lakefront that includes lots of boats, floats, and rafts. Had a great time without ever leaving the property.

This is a little slice of heaven with SO many activities! The hosts do an excellent job of providing lots of kayaks and canoes and pedalboats for on the lake And on land there’s bikes (property is literally adjacent to the bike path), disc golf, firepits, everything you need to have an extremely chill and memorable experience The hosts are SUPER helpful and any time I needed anything went WAY above and beyond and are just the nicest coolest people I absolutely loved the full hookup service for my RV especially since it’s not like those crowded rv campgrounds - you have plenty of space to yourself and when you enjoy the lake there aren’t tons of people everywhere you’ll pretty much have it to yourself

Words can’t explain how much I’ve enjoyed my time on Jim’s property. It’s hard to travel for work as a young man but I found my time off from work was extremely enjoyable on Jim’s property. I spent a lot of my evenings down by the lake, extremely calm and beautiful with lots of kayaks and other fun water gadgets free for my use. Jim was hospitable like no other as well, whether it’s a friendly chat or advice or him helping you with your camp setup. The property is beautiful and the privacy and quietness made my time here so relaxing. The amenities such as the roller slide, frisbee golf, and lake toys made the time very fun and exciting as well. Not enough can be said about Jim and how he runs his camp.

We stayed at Tincan camp site #2 . It was nice to have full hookup for the camper. The site was fairly level and shaded most of the day. Jim and his family were very welcoming and offered use of bikes, kayaks, and pedal boat. There is a Frisbee golf course and and a wonderful boardwalk that made for easy access to the lake. During the day we visited beaches on Lake Michigan, breweries, vineyards, berry farms. So much to do on Jim's property and surrounding areas. The Kal-Haven trail can be easily accessed from Jim's property. Fun riding bikes on the trail in the afternoons then cooling off in the lake. The location is great. The property is beautiful. Jim and his wife are wonderful, caring hosts. Quick to respond via message. We would highly recommend.

If you like biking, this spot is a great option as it’s immediately adjacent to the Kal-Haven trail. If you don’t like biking, it’s great too! It’s quiet and low key but with some really nice amenities for the family. The kids loved the slide and disc golf set up. The boardwalk to the lake is also nice and we utilized the paddleboats too. Overall, really nice, quiet getaway with responsive hosts.

What a perfect weekend!

The campground was amazing!! The location is beautiful in every direction. Our campsite was perfect and there are so many things to do. They have a great selection of bicycles to borrow, even a rad 3 wheeler that made it easy for my wife on our 8 mile ride down the bike trail right by the camp site! Frisbee golf? YEP!! There's disc's in the shed, and a course through the woods. The roller slide is epic, use the knee board for max speed! The boardwalk to the lake was such a treat, and to do that much work is a labor of love. Plenty of kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boats, a paddle bike, and plenty of life preservers. The dock is so peaceful and the fish were jumping all over. The campground vibe is laid back, everyone is there to get away and have fun and the other two sites were doing the same. The RV hookups were flawless and well maintained as everything else was. Jim was top notch and very helpful and has such a beautiful slice of Michigan that he's gracious enough to share, I highly recommend a stay at Tincan!

Another stay and another great time! Jim is an exceptional host and his place is comfortable and full of character. I went with my wife, our two year old, and our dog. Having more than one bedroom is a must and I love the bidet in the bathroom.

We loved TinCan! With it being early spring we were able to have views of the lake. It was an easy pull in site located on gravel. There were a lot of outdoor games, grills, firepits and outdoor furniture. We had our pups with us and there were plenty of trails to take walks on. Jim was a great host and responded timely. I would definitely recommend TinCan Camp

This was our very first camping trip with a brand new trailer. We never have had to hook up to the water, electric, and sewer! Everything went perfect! We really enjoyed Tin Man Camp. It was small enough for us to feel very comfortable with everything. We spent at least an hour just sitting and enjoying the peaceful lake and then rode bikes along the Kal-Haven trail. We will definitely be back next summer! Site 1 is a little unlevel but it was great practice for us to learn from!

The Tincan Cabin is an amazing stay. I went with my wife, our toddler, and dog. There were three bedrooms, so we could give our kid his own room. The cabin had a lot of amenities, from an arcade machine with a ton of games to a full kitchen, and even a bidet. Outside the cabin we had a grill and fire pit which were great. The walk to the lake was lovely with signs of early autumn. The property has lots of space so there is plenty of room with the RV spots. The location of the cabin made for short trips to Holland and South Haven. We were also really close to Virtue Cider. Highly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay here! This location can’t be beat. Between the bike trail, the lake & the water toys, we explored & kept ourselves entertained easily. They rigged one of their hills as a big slide - really fun. Highly recommend!

We loved the peaceful, remote setting that’s still close enough to enjoy days in South Haven and Saugatuck! Proximity to the bike trail is great, and the giant ferns on either side of the boardwalk to the lake felt magical. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a great time (5 nights) on site 2. Water, Electric, and Sewer hookups are all very new and work flawlessly. Easy to level (had to raise left side about 3-4 inches). Plenty of room to maneuver, large gravel space for parking, picnic, etc. At site 2, you'll see the back of site 1 RV if someone is there, there is plenty of space. At site 1, you'll have a full wooded view, but a little smaller space right outside your RV. Either site is great, and there's plenty of shares space, trails, and a 1 minute walk (if you are slow) to the Bike Trail. For fun, there's a large conveyer slide, plenty of water toys (Kayaks, Canoes, paddleboards, trampoline, dock, etc) -- and we got to test out some bumper boats that the host got going on our last day there. The host was very generous and friendly and even took out his pontoon boat into the lake so my son could use the water slide on the back! We lucked out and were alone for the first 3 nights of our stay, and had an extremely considerate RV neighbor for our final 2 nights. The space is very private outside of the cabin and the other RV site -- and it's very quiet and away from noise and business. A thousand times better than an RV park or regular campground. One note -- bring plenty of bottled water if you don't like the metallicy taste of well water. We had plenty of water so this was not a problem for us. Wouldn't hesitate to come back if you come back to the area! Had a great time, thank you!

This is a hidden gem. The kids loved it. Sledding in summer, water triking, water trampoline, kayaks,bikes and more. They are right off the bike trail that is great for anyone. Especially those who like long miles of riding. Quiet, tiny and hidden away. Loved it! Thank you!

A quiet locale with lots of amenities, like kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boats to borrow. It was super quiet and secluded. While the owners had their house nearby, we never would have known. The bike trail nearby was amazing and the lake was just big enough to enjoy with the water equipment. The hosts were very kind and attentive. Highly recommend.

Second time at this place and was just as enjoyable as the first. Got to meet the owners as I was there, very nice people! Love how quiet this place is, the kal-haven trail, and the peaceful lake. No complaints ! Only thing to watch out for is if you have a bigger fifth wheel like me there is some low hanging branches that will touch on the drive back to the tin can camp.

Beautiful and quiet spot with lots of wildlife, including deer, turkeys, and birds. We loved the boardwalk to the lake. The proximity to the Kal-Haven Trail was perfect, very close and accessible. We loved having full electrical and water hook up as well (we didn’t use the sewer hook up). There were people who had rented the cabin, but it wasn’t intrusive or crowded.

Great little weekend getaway

This is a great simple spot to have a nice little vacation. The lake access was nice for kayaking , if it was warmer we would have swam. Quiet and private. 23 minutes from downtown south haven. We have a 38ft travel trailer , the spots are not level so expect to spend a little time getting it leveled out but it’s not terrible. The ground is also very soft , so bring plenty of leveling blocks / foot pads. Spot 1, the sewer dump pipe is to tall out of the ground so made it difficult to drain the hose easily , took some time getting it setup nicely. Had to pick the hose up and help feed it along. I noticed spot 2s pipe was much lower to the ground and would have been a lot better for this. Other than that little stuff I would come back. All the little extras around the property was a nice bonus for stuff to do.
