Thank you Margaret for hosting us on your land. Out site was open during the day but Startin afternoon we had a full shade. I pick it on purpose since at night you can enjoy stars. The sites are clean, spacious, private. Free stock of welcome firewood it extra bonus. Portable toiled is clean and very well maintained. The site is conveniently located to many lovely hikes, bitches and national forest picnic area. It's a hidden gem.

Really lovely. Sites were well thought out and well equipped. The land is beautiful, and there were well-marked trails for walking through the pine, maple, and oak forest. Beautiful stargazing in the field at night. Would stay again!

This was our first us of Hipcamp and we struck gold! Margaret is a gracious host. She even put flowers on our picnic table as a welcoming gift. Directions to Gypsy Hill were clear. Our site was private. Firewood and fire ring were available and the porta potty was super clean. We’ll be back.

This place is a hidden gem!! We were so happy to find the blue lantern spot last minute on a busy summer weekend. The site is clean, well equipped, private, and had plenty of space. It is close to many of the areas attractions. The bathroom was super clean and new. Highly recommend! We will be back!!

Our girl scouts tent camped for the weekend. Lots of room for our tents. Plenty of room for girls to do activities and learn camping skills. Our first campout was a giant success thanks to Margaret.

First and foremost, I’m new to Hipcamp and it won’t be my last time using it for camping!
Now, about Gold Lantern at Gypsy Hill. WOW! This was an amazing experience! Margaret was as awesome host and quite timely in responding to my messages and providing spot on directions! Her land was great and Gold Lantern took me back to my days as a kid camping with my dad and brother. This location was very secluded in the woods, which I LOVED! The provided fire ring and firewood made for a great fire to cook over and enjoy as the sun set and temperatures dropped! And having the table on the site was PERFECT for preparing food and just sitting and enjoying the outdoor experience! The campsite itself was very clean of any debris and I had no worries about my tent being torn or punctured. I give Margaret’s land and Gold Lantern at Gypsy Hill a 10/10!!

All of Margaret's sites are lovely and the setting feels extremely safe. We stayed in the Purple site, which was pristine an well-equipped. It was large, peaceful and quiet and had nice privacy from the other sites. The land is easily 2wd accessible and has plenty of trees and healthy vegetation and wildlife. The shared outhouse was immaculate. Margaret is wonderful and gave us great tips for our park visit. We had a great stay and heartily recommend camping here.

We had a wonderful stay at Gypsy Hill! The campground was beautiful and our site was spacious with level spots for our tent. The host, Margaret, was so friendly and gave us great recommendations on where to hike and go to the beach. The firewood provided was very dry and it was easy to make a fire. The porta potty was spotless. The location near to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was also a plus. All in all we highly recommend this camp site!

We had a wonderful day stay at Gypsy Hill. Our campsite was beautiful and spacious. It is located very near to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The friendly host, Margaret, stopped by our first night with great advice on the best hikes and beaches. The firewood provided was dry and made excellent campfires. All in all our family loved this campsite. We had booked the Blue Lantern site but got a little mixed up and actually set up camp at the Red Lantern site. As no one had booked the Red Lantern it was no problem. Also Porta potty was spotless.

We stayed at the Green Lantern. This was a great site for tent camping. The porta potty was clean and conveniently located. The site included wood for our campfire. As well as buckets of water available to ensure it is extinguished. Very private sites. She also had kayaks and a sauna for use. Near many beautiful locations. We will stay here again. Thank you to our host for a wonderful stay!

Purple Lantern
Nice spot! Margaret’s land is beautiful. The campsites are not entirely private in that others can see your site but they are far enough in the distance. The little lanterns at the entrance to each site are a very pretty touch. The site had a fire ring, picnic table, complimentary firewood, shovel and a bucket of water to put out the fire. Overall a great experience. Site can be hard to find as directions are not entirely clear and we ran into another landowner not very subtly told us ‘we’re all gun wielding red necks out here’ but she did point us in the correct way. If you get to a three pronged fork on peck road, take the path with a rainbow wind chime thing!

I camped here with my family of 4. That includes two kids under 6. And it was awesome! We really enjoyed our site, the Blue Lantern. The trail to get to the sites was well marked and we could tell the owner Margaret put a lot of work and creativity into the decoration of her sites. Her property is in a great location and we felt super safe leaving our campsite to explore this area of Michigan all day. Fire wood was provided, there was an easy to wipe down picnic table, fire pit, shovel, and bucket of water for putting out the fire all on our site ready for us. There was also a super clean porta potty close by. We had a very large campsite with a slight hill to it which was perfect for the kids riding their balance bikes down the hill over and over. This site was huge compared to state campgrounds! We had plenty of space to put our 20’ long tent up on a nice flat spot. Our host was super nice and we definitely want to return!

Amazing campsite on her property! Flat ground for tents, complimentary firewood when we arrived, neighbors not too close by. It was a very peaceful, comfy place to stay for two nights. Would recommend to anyone!

My group hammock camps and the wooded area at Blue Lantern was perfect. We were the only ones there but the campsites are spaced pretty well and secluded. Margaret came down to get us and see if we needed anything. There was already firewood, bucket of water, and a shovel at the site. It was really peaceful and we will camp here again of in the area.
