Meadow Cottage is a newly renovated 100 year old farmhouse with a hot tub located in beautiful Northern Michigan. Perfectly situated for year round fun including skiing at Crystal Mountain (13 miles), Caberfae (36 miles), snowmobiling (.2 miles), Lake Michigan (7 miles), or golfing at Arcadia (9 miles). Beautifully designed rooms provide space for up to 8 guests. Step outside to our patio to soak in our large spa under the stars or sit around the campfire. Our front living room includes a stunning towering fireplace. Look up and admire the hand-hewn original beams of the vaulted ceiling. Tucked away in this space is our queen sleeping loft. Sure to be a favorite sleeping area for all! The living room sofa also offers a pull out queen bed. Our fully stocked kitchen is perfect for providing meals during your stay. Keurig coffee is provided. Exciting decorative touches are to be found in all areas of this newly designed house. Kids will delight in our rock wall and hanging chair in the birch tree bedroom. The queen bedroom has a fresh vibe complete with its natural wood ceiling and stunning meadow views out the windows. Enjoy the original 100 year old wood floors that have been restored and kept throughout the home. The moody dining room is filled with unique antiques found in the farmhouse. Now this is glamping. This was the first stop on a trip around Lake Michigan and it kind of ruined all of the other campsites for us. We got in late on a Friday night -- just in time for an amazing sunset. The camp was easy to find and the site was clear and spacious. We set up our tents, had dinner, and enjoyed a fire. It would be a nice site for that alone, but the main clubhouse/bathhouse puts it over the top. It's incredible. Comfy couches with wifi, a well-stocked camp store you can pay using a card with a self check-out terminal (and the prices are right -- we bought way too much stuff), a loft with games, comfy rocking chairs on the porch, incredibly well-maintained bathrooms and showers WITH towels, even laundry facilities! I've never seen anything like it. It was so easy to pick up the wood we pre-ordered and simply get more if we needed it. And there's such attention to detail -- the flags on top of the castle on the playground have the logo on them, for instance. If they start selling ice in the shop you'll never have to leave! Plus, it looks like they are going to install barrel saunas. My only tiny nitpick is that I usually do prefer a fairly private site, even just a few trees in between, and these are right next to each other, but luckily nobody was next to us while we were there. And that's truly a nitpick -- this place is amazing. It would be so great halfway through a trip when you need laundry and a proper shower. Highly recommended.

The facilities were over the top! The “bin” as they refer to it is a self serve mini store with snacks and novelties for sale using the honor system. Very nice shower and laundry facilities. The owners have put quite a bit of money into this operation and it shows! I would definitely stay here again!

Host was a little slow to reply to my messages on this app but when they did reply I got great information from them. Overall very impressed/inspired and refreshed after the trip!

This was our second time here and the place keeps getting better and better! The BIN is a work of art. Will be coming back a third time for sure. Most everything you need is there on site but it's also close to sights and other amenities around the coastline.

The amenities (showers, towels, water bottle filling station, rinse sink, grills, etc) set this place apart from anywhere else that I've camped. Highly recommended place to stay.

My family and I had a great time tent camping on Nellie's land. We appreciated the well-groomed site and beautiful views. The sites were a little close to each other, but the fantastic bathhouse made up for that. We loved the central location for day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City. Our kids really loved the playground. We would camp here again, thanks for hosting us!

From the moment you reach the driveway it is evident that someone(s) put a lot of thought, hard work and pride into making a Bear Woods Resort a great place to stay. I camped in a tent and definitely appreciated the large space, fire pit and picnic table and the easy access path cut out to the restroom/shower. I highly recommend staying here.

Everything went well!! I love to travel and when I tell you I deeply appreciate when the accommodations exceed expectations! The pics and the descriptions do not do this camp ground and resort justice. We stayed in the yurts. Reserved both for 4 days. My site was for myself and my dog. My sister had her 2 boys next door. Reserving was easy, the owner was quick to respond to questions and even had propane stoves ready for us at the covered pavilion. We ended up not using them because we brought a charcoal grill. I can’t say enough about how clean and just how meticulous everything was from the bathroom, to the playground, to the trails, and the yurts them selves were OUTSTANDING. My boyfriend and I are looking at dates to go in the fall. And my girlfriends and I are looking at dates to go next month.

The property is nice to walk on and the cabin was very comfortable compared to what you typically get while camping. The bathhouse is well kept and the camp staff were helpful. However, Make sure you bring something to cook with the BBQ grill advertised was either not there or hard to find. Other than that, a great experience, especially if you are new to camping.

Highly recommend Cabin #7! We stayed here after 3 long nights of tent camping and exploring the Upper Peninsula. The bathhouse was an absolute dream, and the cabin was beautiful. Definitely well worth it, the surrounding area was beautiful. Fun amenities like a playground, pavilion, hammocks, tetherball, corn hole, and volleyball. We enjoyed ourselves so much.

We had an amazing stay at Nellie's Hip Camp with our two kids and two dogs! The property is beautiful with plenty of room to spread out and take in the stunning views. The showers were fantastic—so nice that we skipped using the one in our van and happily walked to the Bin instead. The owners were incredibly friendly and responsive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Our kids loved the playground, which was such a cool feature built with natural materials. The location is ideal—very close to a camp store and a perfect jumping-off point for exploring Iron Fish, the dunes, and more of Northwest Lower Michigan. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back!

I loved the A frame cabin. It was so nice to be camping but also get to shower and sleep in a comfy bed. The property is very spacious and we had a chance to get out and walk it several times. Our pup also really loved the dog park! It felt like you were away from the big city. But also we could get to anything we needed in 20 mins or so. Traverse City ~1 hr, dunes, beach, hiking, local produce….it was perfect for our idea of a camping vacation.

I can’t explain accurately how perfect this place was for my vacation. The cabin was clean, cute, and comfortable. The bathhouse was beautiful and clean. The property was very welcoming. We are already making plans to come back with the whole family because of how much we loved it! I almost didn’t want to write a review because this place is an absolute hidden gem that I don’t think will be a secret much longer!
