We had a great night here! A perfect little getaway for us away from the city. Site 3 was fun and if we are able to get back over, we will check out the Walk In site next time :)

Awesome place with great hosts!!

This was our first hipcamp experience as we usually did campgrounds with full hookups or electric only and I just got a F150 hybrid that was able to power our camper and wanted to do a non camp driveway run of our system before we tried longer stays further away from home. Julie and Tom were outstanding with descriptions of the sites, pictures, amenities and great communication through the site. We got there on a good weather day and chatted with them for a bit before we headed to our site which was exactly as described. No issues placement, leveling, etc. and the fire pit was cleaned out. Friday was a perfect day to camp. The weather went downhill and rained Saturday and Sunday but it wasn't an issue getting up the hill and out of the site. As it stated 4wd and you'd be fine. If you are looking to camp in this area please give them a try. Oh and Tom, we might be back for that F250. :-)

Beautiful spot!

The walk in site is beautiful and secluded. The tree canopy offered the perfect amount of shade and sunlight to come in. The whole weekend was extremely relaxed. We didn't really see any of the other campers aside from the one side we parked next to, and didn't often hear them. Signage to get to the site was easy to follow. We would camp here again for sure.

Amazing time at Tom & Julie's place

10/10, highly recommend. This property is an absolute gem. The campsite is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and perfectly nestled right in the woods. The sites themselves are very private, offering a wonderful sense of total seclusion. To top it off, the hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating. I would absolutely book this spot again!

The campsite was beautiful! There was lots to see and it was somewhat private. If you want super private definitely get the walk in tent site! The firewood and water on site were extremely helpful as well. Would stay again :)

The area around the site was remote nice place and quiet except when i leveled our truck camper the theft / tow alarm went off. Everyone needs to walk the town of Howell its really nice and lots of shops and places to eat.

The host was very friendly, but unfortunately the wildfire smoke forced us to cancel our trip, and after paying the reimbursement fee for bad weather, we still haven’t been refunded. I’m not sure who to contact about that.

Great site, awesome hosts. Julie got me settled in right away, super welcoming. Later Tom came by to check on things and I ended up having a really good talk with him about his solar setup, other builds he’s worked on, and just comparing notes in general. Genuinely good guy, easy to talk to, clearly knows his stuff. Highly recommend this place.

A Quiet Spot!

My friend and I camped at their walk-in tent site during a heatwave, and even with the weather and the stickiness, we both loved this site. The navigation to the site was easy to follow, and the actual walk into the site was more than manageable. It was perfect for us to pitch hammocks (you can probably get 2-3 if you have long straps) and camp that way. We were the only ones at any of the sites, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet, and a late-night visit from an opossum. Not only do I recommend, but will be making a trip back (when it isn’t 97 degrees out!)

Hidden gem in Livingston county! Easy to find and very peaceful and relaxing. Hosts live close by but site was very private and you would not know you are just a quick ride into Howell. Site was clean, spacious and easy to get in an out of. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

A great HipCamp, great location.

The hosts gave us a nice welcome, and we appreciated the detailed guide sheet and map. I made use of the water supply hose by the driveway. Our site was wonderfully quiet, peaceful, and bug-free. The picnic table and fire ring are in great shape. It was fun gathering nearby fallen branches and other kindling to get a campfire going. A short drive to downtown Howell, a great place to hang out.

STAR GAZING!!

We loved that Tom and Julie were flexible with our arrival time. The view of the night sky, filled with stars was just amazing. The location was private and close to family in the area. We would have loved an electric hook up for our trailer. However we did just fine with a generator.

A Place To Unwind and Regroup

Julie and Tom are outstanding hosts! I enjoy camping on their land to get away to nature and leave behind the daily grind. The solitude offers peaceful views and trails, both of which are beautiful and very well kept. Clean potable water and plenty of wood. Close to a lake and shopping for incidentals.

A Peaceful Fall Getaway

I camped at their beautiful meadow campsite offering a fire ring and picnic table. There are beautiful wooded trails, a nearby cider mill, petting farm, pumpkin patch, and a corn maze to explore during the fall. Tom and Julie are very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, ensuring a safe and memorable stay.

I'm an experienced camper, due to motorcycling and whitewater kayaking. Have camped in Alaska, Colorado, bottom of Grand Canyon for 6 weeks. . This was my first time using Hipcamp, so I was unsure what to expect. Local state recreation areas were closed, so I gave this a try. . The camping area was exactly as described in words and photos. We had a walk-in tent site, so we parked at a marked parking spot. Then carried our gear another 500' across a tiny stream and up a hill. . It was a 2-night stay with my 4yo daughter on a father-daughter leaf-peeping motorcycle trip out of Detroit. She has also camped many times / places before, and I wanted her to have an adventure close to home. . Tom & Julie's place was perfect for us. It was about 3 miles east of Pinckney, so we had restaurants. The area is rural, and beautiful in the fall. The road to Tom & Julie's was smooth dirt for 2 miles. Then is was maybe 1/8 mile from their mailbox to the campsite. . The campsite was in a small clearing in the woods. Rarely did modern man-made noise intrude on the natural sounds. There was a fire-ring in the clearing, a couple cut logs to sit on. Firewood was available for a small fee. But there was plenty of dead wood around, for kindling or a small fire. So we enjoyed a small fire and did not purchase additional wood. . It was just our luck there was a pumpkin farm nearby. My daughter loved the hay rides, corn maze, etc. . The experience very positive, and I'd use Hipcamp again.

Perfect spot to have some privacy and feel safe. Camping on grass and some level ground is really nice as opposed to a beet down Public camp ground. I sat and talked with owner Tom, great guy. They call people like this good folk. Real good site too solid ground, lots of geese and cranes went by multiple times. Loved the stay here. We tested out a new air tent here had several nice fires and ate few really good steaks our last night. I almost hate post up here about this little gem in fear of others finding out about this gem. Oh did I mention how Responsive and respectful Julie was in returning information and questions getting answered.
