Nice little camp area would go again clean and quiet
I feel like I found a hidden gem.. the Creekside site was PERFECT in every possible way. Well maintained, several trees for hammocking, and I didn’t see another soul the whole time I was there. The instructions to get to the site were easy even with getting there as it was getting dark. I will be back again and again.
Such a wonderful experience! The Big Oak tree is probably about 300 years old, and the history and energy are palpable. The area is great; about a ten minute drive from the city, and surrounded by crop fields and forrest for quite a distance, so it feels very remote. Exceptionally private, I imagine even more so it being before the final harvest. A great place for a solo camper. So much wildlife! Lightening bugs, chipmunks, turkeys, ducks, and of course Caitlin's adorable dogs! Bugs weren't the worst, but they were there; Along with the fuzzy, spiked caterpillars that you're not supposed to touch (more just a warning for those with kids/pets). I was there for probably the worst time of year for bugs and it was more than tolerable. The trails are wonderful, and go on for quite some time; I didn't explore them all. I had an overall wonderful time here, and will be back, if for nothing else to visit this tree!

Big Oak Camp
We’ve stayed a few times at Big Oak campsite and have continued to love the peacefulness and biodiversity of the area. Campsite is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of room for all your camp activities.
Camping at Big Oak campsite is a once in a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Caitlin was very accommodating when it came to adjusting the dates of my stay. The farm is beautiful. Be sure to bring plenty of bug spray! (Mosquitoes are to be expected while camping in the middle of the woods). I would 100% come back again the next time I am in town!

Big Oak Camp
Big Oak campsite is super private and well maintained. There was a bit of bug action but it wasn’t too bad. Caitlin was a very kind and communicative host. I would highly recommend camping under the shelter of this beautiful oak tree!
The directions are clear, so much so that if you marked the signs with "camp" on the arrows it'd probably not even need a typed instruction!
Lovely land that's not only private and maintained, but LABELED and very purposely presented for camping! An absolutely lovely site next to a creek where we saw a muskrat or two swimming around happily among fish. Me and my friends had a lovely time dancing under the full moon 🌕
I loved Big Oak Camp! It's nice and close to Ann Arbor for a quick low stakes weekend getaway in the woods. The site is huge and well cleared and could easily accommodate a fairly large group of tents! As a solo camper, I had plenty of nice spots to choose from to pitch. The site is pretty level with just the slightest grade to permit good drainage if you get some rain. It's nicely shaded and deep enough in the woods to really give that feeling of being out in nature even though you are on the outskirts of Ann Arbor. Contributing to this feeling is that there is minimal noise from the surrounding roads and farm operations! It's not terribly buggy, there's plenty of forage wood to get the fire started and the firewood provided by the host for fee is of high quality. And finally, the trails around the farm are really quite scenic and make for a nice walk! Big Oak Camp is pretty self service; no engagement with the host is required to come and go (although she was very nice!) and the price per night is so generous! I've bookmarked Big Oak Camp and I will definitely be a regular visitor in the future! Thank you so much!

I was really impressed with how well maintained their land was. I stayed at the Maple tree site. Wow!!! What a tree, arms stretching out like a mother holding her babies. Very quiet and private. Wood for sale at the site, picnic table and garbage there too. Turkeys walking through the site and nature noises abound! My dog and I loved it.

Loved our stay! Beautiful old oak tree in a large and peaceful campsite. We loved seeing the farm animals as we drove through to the site, which was well marked and easy to fine.
No lack of wildlife through the night, we heard a bobcat several times, and all kinds of critters walking through the woods at night.
Beware of mosquitos!!!
Beautiful, quiet spot with equal parts shade and sun. We enjoyed walking the secluded road with our dogs. The bugs were persistent but our thermacell and some spray kept them at bay and made it tolerable-so come prepared!

It is a very secluded private spot. Easy to find and get to. A great level shady spot in the rear. Only downside would be the mosquitoes which is clearly stated so can't complain about it.

Thanks for sharing that Big Oak! Guessing it's 300+ yrs old, what a specimen. In my short stay, I saw deer, wild turkey and the fire flies... I haven't seen that many fire flies since I was a kid. I loved the site and the area, don't change anything.
Great secluded camp site! Well kept road back to the site. Good distance away from the road and homes. Open areas in the sun as well as some shade in the trees. Pretty creek. Nice clean restroom. Bugs but not bad at all. Lots of pretty property to walk.

This was one of our most favorite camping spots since starting with Hipcamp! The privacy was unmatched with plenty of fields for our pups to frolic in. The oak tree at this spot was one of the most beautiful trees I've ever experienced. The spot was well maintained and we will absolutely be returning in the future!
This was a perfect Hipcamp site to unwind and reconnect with nature! The giant oak tree watching over this site is a must see. The site is very well groomed, private and peaceful. The first night camping here lent to a steady rain into the next morning... there was no flooding. A very well thought out site for comfort. The hiking trails are breathtaking, so with a vering landscape. This is going to be my birthday camp site this year.

Site was as advertised. The oak tree is grand. Fire pit was nicely laid out. Host was communicative and helpful with directions.
We loved our stay! Very secluded and peaceful. Felt like you were in the middle of no where. I would stay here again anytime
Perfect little spot to get away for a night. The property is beautiful snd we loved walking around. Also a great spot to see some stars!

Stayed under a big, old oak tree. It was beautiful, private, and quiet. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic spot! Tucked far from anyone or any road. You might hear some faint noise but there is a feeling of privacy that was very welcome. Would absolutely stay here again. As a solo female traveler I would stay here and sleep well.
Verizon was better than expected. Don’t forget your bug spray!

Creekside Hideaway
This is our second time staying here and we loved it ! It’s a very nice setup in a quiet area with the calming sound of the creek. They do a great job at keeping the area clean and up kept, as well as the porta john (very clean). Would recommend this site to anyone and would come again.
