Welcome to the Double J!
Of the 71 acres we own, about half is tillable and the other half is woods and pastures for our horses. Within that, there is a beautiful secluded 3-acre meadow nestled down along along a beautiful 1,200 foot stretch of the Zumbro River where we have 5 spacious tent/RV campsites. While the campsites are all adjacent to each other along the river, they are each very spacious (the smallest being 100' wide and 75' deep), with some mature trees scattered around. Each sites (except Site #1) is able to accommodate up to 8 people and more than one tent or RV. There is a small meadow above all the sites where campers can play catch or other games. We provide and maintain a centrally located outhouse and keep the entire area mowed throughout the year. All sites offer great shade trees (perfectly spaced for hanging up a hammock) and access to the river - great for those hot summer days!
Water activities to be enjoyed include fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and tubing (equipment not included). Some campers will drop in upstream at the Covered Bridge Park and float down to their campsite. The Zumbro River, especially in the fishing hole, offers great fishing including Trout, Small-mouth, Red-horse, and an occasional Northern or Sauger.
Campers are welcome to to meander out into our pastures to pet our two horses, Shiloh and Champ. Also, we are just over a mile from town where you can visit Covered Bridge Park which has a Frisbee golf course and a nice play area for younger kids.
Reserving adjacent sites, or all of the sites, makes for the ideal setting for a large family or group camp-out. In order to prevent overcrowding, we do reserve the right to limit number of sites, or campers per site based on overall parties/campers in the camping area. We will notify you if there are any limits at the time of your booking.
We enjoy being able to share our property with others, and it is our desire to promote a safe, peaceful, family-friendly environment, therefore, be sure to note, we do have a NO ALCOHOL policy.
PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to read the "RV Details" on the site information page as the road to the camping area may limit the type or size of RV due to a couple dips, a sharper curve, and it's steeper slope. Also, keep in mind, we reserve the right to cancel any reservations due to heavy rains or floods that may require our sites some additional time to dry out sufficiently.

As is customary for most campgrounds, we ask that if you bring in your own firewood that it be kiln dried. Dry firewood can be purchased for $5.00/bundle.
TIP - Being we do not reimburse campers in the event of rain (unless campground is flooded or too muddy), we highly recommend campers take advantage of Hipcamp’s Weather Guarantee option when booking. With Minnesota’s unpredictable weather it allows you to get reimbursed for any days it rains over a specified amount, even if you choose to stick out the rain! The cost is very reasonable making it almost a no-brainer!

After twenty years of living in the heart of the city, we traded our pavement for 14 acres among the rolling hills of the beautiful Cannon Valley region of Southeast MN. Crowded Table Farm is the realization of a long-held dream: a place where we can grow good food, restore the land, and—most importantly—share it with others. Our farm is a patchwork of vegetable beds, fruit trees, a budding native prairie, and quiet woods.
Life on the Farm:
Depending on when you visit, you might see us out in the fields planting, weeding, harvesting, or tooling around on our small tractor. You’ll definitely hear the ducks chatting and the roosters announcing the day, but beyond that, it’s pretty darn quiet here. We are actively restoring a native prairie to provide a home for pollinators and butterflies, and we steward our wooded spaces, working to support a healthy forest ecosystem.
The End of the Road:
If you’re looking to get off the beaten path, you’ve found it! Our farm sits at the end of a dead-end road, with four miles of gravel between you and the nearest paved highway. Because of that, our nights are truly dark, and the stars are incredibly bright. It’s the kind of place where you can take a deep breath and actually hear yourself think. However, while it feels a world away, we’re actually quite close to some of our favorite Minnesota spots.
We’re just 15 minutes from the Cannon River bike trail and great spots for kayaking or canoeing, and Nerstrand Big Woods State Park is a short 20-minute drive away for hiking. The historic downtowns of Cannon Falls and Northfield are both nearby, offering fantastic breweries, antiques, boutiques, vintage shops, bookstores, wineries, restaurants, and more. We are also an easy 45-minute drive from both the Twin Cities and Rochester.
A Stay with Purpose:
At Crowded Table Farm, we believe in a "purposeful surplus." We run a small CSA, sell at a nearby farmers market, and grow extra produce specifically to donate to our local food bank. By staying here, you aren't just finding a place to pitch a tent—you’re supporting a small-scale food system and a commitment to land stewardship. Materfield has been kept primitive, allowing the landscape to remain the centerpiece. You’ll have the essentials: portable restrooms, potable water from a hand-pump well (bring containers), designated parking, a wheelbarrow for transporting gear to your site, tended walking trails, a communal campfire area, and tube rentals. This is simple tent camping and a chance for overnight forest bathing.
Materfield is located in picturesque rural Wisconsin, where woodlands and working family farms share the river valley. You’ll see and hear birds, frogs, deer, wind in the trees, and waterscapes, as well as some tractors, livestock, and seasonal farm life. Explore the local scene full of farm stands, artisan food makers, wineries, and natural wonders.

Pine Lake Rec Area is only 2.5 miles away (bring your boat or canoe/kayaks). There are three golf courses located within 11 miles of the campsite -- two 9-hole courses and one 18-hole course. The location is perfect for travelers looking for a cheap and simple place to stay just off Interstate 94 and Hwy 63.

Discover the perfect getaway at our private campsite nestled in the trees on the bank of a secluded waterfowl preserve, Wonderland Woods Campsite is a nature lovers paradise!
Explore our 40 acre property, including You-Pick flowers (July-September), kayak the 466 acre spring-fed pond, walk the paths through the woods, or relax in a hammock as you close your eyes and listen for all the nature sounds.
Our Flower Farm has unique experiences you may enjoy during your stay including You-Pick Flowers (July-September), workshops and events (additional fees to be paid through Two Bees & A Bud website). We also sell our honey, maple syrup and eggs.
There is a short walk from the parking area to the camping area. This walk takes roughly 8 minutes and we will provide a wagon for you to transport your things.
Just a 20 minute drive from Hudson, WI or Stillwater, MN, our campsite is the perfect getaway to escape the hustle of the city.
Good to note: Our pond is a beautiful kayaking pond with lots of waterfowl, but not great for fishing, swimming or paddle boarding. We recommend Perch Lake which is a 15 min drive, for a great swimming and paddleboarding experience.

We had the most wonderful stay at this campsite! Four girlfriends spent the weekend here, and it was exactly what we were hoping for—private, peaceful, beautiful, and surrounded by nature.
The campsite itself was spacious and sits right on a beautiful pond. It was less than a five-minute walk from where we parked to the actual campsite, which was very easy. We rented kayaks and were able to kayak right on the pond, which was incredibly peaceful and honestly one of the highlights of our stay.
There was so much wildlife to enjoy—deer, toads, frogs, and so many different birds. We even heard owls and a fox at night! It really felt like we were tucked away in our own little piece of nature.
Christine and Kevin were wonderful hosts. They were friendly, easy to communicate with, and responded promptly whenever we had a question or sent a message. They also provided plenty of firewood, which was such a nice convenience. We purchased a dozen eggs and some maple syrup from them as well, and they were perfect for a campfire breakfast!
We absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back. If you’re looking for a quiet, private place to relax, enjoy nature, kayak, sit around a campfire, and just unplug for a while, this place is a gem. Highly recommend!

Campsite was very private and was next to a gorgeous prairie restoration, featuring a trail around the prairie and through the woods. Hosts were communciative and helpful, gave me plenty of space to have my privacy! There's options to pitch a tent under tree cover, or under the open sky. Good stargazing :)

Peaceful spot not far from st paul or Minneapolis. If the composting toilet is new to you it may be a slight adjustment but it literally doesn't smell bad at all and easy to understand how to use it. Trails are minimal but nice. Overall cool little spot there I enjoyed it and no complaints or problems.

My fiancé and I had so much fun on Dan’s property. Our puppy probably loved it more than we did. The beach was only 4 minute drive it was amazing, not too busy and just gorgeous views. We will definitely be staying again!

This is a stunning and peaceful property with acres of wildflowers and groomed walking trails meandering through them. I was in a small camper and appreciated the full hook up, picnic table with umbrella, fire pit, clean porta potty, hot and cold running water in the nearby greenhouse and a beautiful gazebo to relax and enjoy the peace. The property is a few miles down a picturesque country road from the friendly and sweet little town of Prairie Farm. Though too cloudy during my stay, I can only imagine how beautiful the dark night sky would be when the stars are shining. Thank you for a delightful stay!

This was a quiet spot in the woods. There was a spot by an out building but there was a loud humming sound coming from the building so i took the spot in the woods away from it. It was kinda hard to back my camper down to the other spot but i managed. Once down there, it was good. This is a relatively primitive site so it was nice that they have an outhouse built on the property.

Super great hosts. Beautiful site. So much fun to check out their garden and greenhouse. We kayaked the nearby Hay River and it was beautiful. Then the hosts graciously saved us when we got locked out of our vehicle at the river! Just super nice Humans and a relaxing beautiful place to camp.

Great location for a family camping trip. The creek and the woods were great for little kids to explore. The cabin and porch provided good coverage in the rain. The wagon for hauling stuff to the cabin was a lifesaver! The only downside was we heard a lot of road noise one evening. (motorcycle ride)

Dan is a great host. My kids and I had so much fun. Such a neat experience to be camping and away from busy camp sites. My kids enjoyed doing some night hiking, loved the spacious tent, and being close to downtown Taylor’s falls. They were on the fence about camping- especially my teens, but by the end wanted to come back.

Emily and Ryan are very kind hosts, and have a wonderfully well maintained and extremely private campsite. It doesn’t feel like you’re in a backyard, but rather it feels like your own private area to camp and chill. The restroom is an about a minute to walk to and was a very nice amenity to have, it is beautifully decorated and again very well maintained and clean. There’s a native flower prairie next to the campsite accessible by foot, and we were able to see many fireflies in the evening! I would advise if you have a car that is pretty low to the ground (like a Prius or Civic) to be careful going through the driveway as the middle of the gravel road is raised and may rub under your bumper. There is absolutely no road/car noise here, just the very infrequent plane or two but not loud at all; you will fall asleep to the endless critters yapping away. We would easily stay here again if we’re in the area or passing by! 5/5

Spent 2 nights in early August. Grounds were beautiful. The garden and green house were amazing. Sue and Allen were great to hang out with. So incredibly quiet at night. We will definitely return.
