We had the most wonderful stay at this campsite! Four girlfriends spent the weekend here, and it was exactly what we were hoping for—private, peaceful, beautiful, and surrounded by nature.
The campsite itself was spacious and sits right on a beautiful pond. It was less than a five-minute walk from where we parked to the actual campsite, which was very easy. We rented kayaks and were able to kayak right on the pond, which was incredibly peaceful and honestly one of the highlights of our stay.
There was so much wildlife to enjoy—deer, toads, frogs, and so many different birds. We even heard owls and a fox at night! It really felt like we were tucked away in our own little piece of nature.
Christine and Kevin were wonderful hosts. They were friendly, easy to communicate with, and responded promptly whenever we had a question or sent a message. They also provided plenty of firewood, which was such a nice convenience. We purchased a dozen eggs and some maple syrup from them as well, and they were perfect for a campfire breakfast!
We absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back. If you’re looking for a quiet, private place to relax, enjoy nature, kayak, sit around a campfire, and just unplug for a while, this place is a gem. Highly recommend!

My sister and I had a great time camping here! Easy to get to, beautiful views, a lovely stay!
Stayed here just a few weeks ago, and was such a lovely property that I came back (: Again, the property is very well kept, the host is kind and timely in their reply. The bugs weren't too bad at all, despite being surrounded by water. I absolutely would return yet again!

My partner and I had a lovey time. The spot felt secluded and we felt enveloped in nature. We enjoyed swimming at a lake nearby as per Christine’s suggestion and also utilized her kayaks to see the local wildlife. Definitely recommend!!!
This campsite was so beautiful and secluded. The owners take very good care of their property, there were surprisingly no bees and very few mosquitoes. The hosts were very welcoming and nice, they were also very easy to stay in touch with the whole time!
I had such a wonderful stay with Christine! Even after severe weather interrupted part of my trip, she reached out to make sure I was okay, which I really appreciated. The campsite was clean and thoughtfully maintained, with plenty of firewood and multiple great spots for both a tent and a hammock. The kayak and life jackets were in excellent condition, and the lake was peaceful and perfect for paddling. Christine even left a thoughtful welcome note that made me feel right at home. If you're reading reviews before deciding whether to book, let this be your sign. You won't regret staying here!

The campsite was peaceful. There was a lot of wildlife…lots of birds and frogs. We kayaked with what we think might have been muskrats, and deer walked through our campsite. A painted turtle came right into the campsite and laid eggs which was interesting to see. The hosts were friendly and responsive. We greatly appreciated the firewood and use of the kayaks.
There only downside was the walk in. Normally, we wouldn’t mind the walk, but we had a lot of rain. We keep food in the car, so both we and the food got pretty soggy. I did wish that we’d been allowed to drive further in, but respected that that was not permitted.
AMAZING… So charming, the water is gorgeous, the campsite is gorgeous, if it’s even stocked with Firewood!! we had to get Honey and maple syrup as well… HIGHLY recommend super kind hosts as well!!!
I highly recommend this place! It's very easy to find, the hosts communicate well, the walk to the site is super easy especially with the nice wagon provided, as of this review there is only one site so it's extremely private. It may have been just this weekend but the wind off the lake was constant and kept the smoke going in one direction and the bugs out of our area. Also they say it's not a lake but it has got to be right on the edge because it for sure feels like a lake. It feels like you're 3-4 hours north, not just outside of the Twin Cities. 10/10! Note that the beach is not at the campsite, it's back near where you park.

We (40/50yos) loved camping on Christine’s land! The walk is pleasant, beautiful, and shaded. The campsite is HUGE and private. When I say private I mean actually private! The bucket toilet was convenient and easy to use. We saw endless amount of fun birds in the lake. We even saw a couple forest frogs- very cool! We’ll be back.

We had a wonderful time camping here with our kids! Secluded, quiet, and great for stargazing when the sky’s clear. Our kids loved it, and having plenty of split firewood waiting for us was a nice treat!

The campsite at Christine's place was so beautiful. We enjoyed the privacy and the views of the lake were fantastic. We loved that firewood was provided at no extra charge and kayaks were available to rent.

The site is lovely, secluded and has everything you need. The wagon was really helpful for hauling gear in and it was a nice, easy walk through the woods. I had mentioned to Christine that we were camping as part of my daughter's birthday party, and she very sweetly hung balloons at the site! Everything was as described, and communication was great. Christine even offered to loan us gear when some of ours got wet in an unexpected rain storm. We loved picking bouquets and enjoying live music Friday evening at the farm, and watching the flock of swans on the lake in the morning.
This was a terrific spot to camp, it was secluded on peninsula with tons of wildlife. We stayed for just one night and saw deer, pilliated woodpeckers, trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes, gulls, muscat, multiple species of water fowl, and even 3 river otter that swam right up to us! They thought of everything you could ask for facilities wise. Would come back if we are in the area again. Was a good place for us to take our 6mo old in his first camping trip without worring about disturbing anyone with his cries at night.
So private! We are the only people there! We loved the view. Christine was available if we needed her but we did not and we never saw her. There was not actually any portapotty /satelite anywhere but the campsite bathroom facility was innovative. It would be helpful if we could park iIMMEDIATELY next to the walk in trail RATHER THAN 200-300 yards away. We have never been able camp on a weekend because we can’t make reservations in March or April, so being able to get a weekend night was FANTASTIC. the nearby towns of Hudson and Stillwater are charming
The Campsite:
The walk to the campsite is shorter than I expected and it was easier than I thought, even though we had so many stuff with us. If you like privacy and sounds of animals while camping, this is the place for you. We ended up leaving the campsite a little earlier because our little one was too tired from playing and staying up at night.

The site was so pretty and was a good place to disconnect from the world! Christine had great communication leading up to the trip and during the trip! We will definitely be back!
This property is absolutely beautiful. Upon parking your vehicles, you're met with a beautiful lake as well as a serene short walk to the campsite. The site also has a view of this lake too. It was spacious, private, and Chrstine was incredibly accommodating. In my personal opinion, the perfect blend of kind and considerate while still giving you space to enjoy your camp. I think it's also important to add that New Richmond is a very short drive away if you need anything else. If you are planning your next trip or thinking about trying your first Hicamp experience this is a great way to do it!

If you're looking for tranquility, this campsite is a hidden gem. Nestled right on the lake, the views are stunning—especially at sunrise and sunset. The site was clean, well-maintained, and quiet except for birds and other animals. Definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys nature without the crowds. I can't wait to go back once the flowers are blooming to see the flower farm in full bloom!
If you’re looking to feel like you have the entire woods to yourself, this is an excellent choice. Christine is a wonderful host- I arrived and my fresh farm eggs were waiting for me on the campsite picnic table! I brought way too much gear for a single overnight stay, but there is a handy heavy duty wagon right next to the grass parking area. It’s about a 5 to 7 minute level / easy walk to the single campsite, which is HUGE. We only used a small 3 person tent, but the pad could accommodate a mobile barracks. There’s a fantastic fire pit surrounded by several log seats, and firewood was provided!
We feel asleep to a wonderful chorus ensemble including frogs, coyotes, and an owl. The campsite sits only a few hundred feet from a decent sized pond / lake- which contains so much wildlife! We woke up early and from our lawn chairs we saw trumpeter swans, a few common mergansers, herons, a great egret, ducks of all sorts, chipmunks, several deer, a muskrat or two, sandhill cranes, and a turkey! I will definitely be camping here again in the future and hopefully taking advantage of some of the unique offerings at this site (the eggs were delicious)!
I loved this campsite! It was so clean and cute, with a great view of the lake. There were swans every morning! The campsite itself had a nice fire pit, little lights, wood, a nice table, and stumps. The trails were nicely cut, and it was easy to get around. The family is so sweet and helpful as well! It’s close to town which is nice if you want to grab dinner, but it still feels like you are miles away. I will definitely be back.

I really want to keep this place all to myself. Don’t go there, so I can have it all to myself! Actually just kidding. But not really. This was such a magical spot. Words cannot explain. Lake shore campsite, pick your own flowers, polyamorous swans (there were 3), migrating Canada geese, rocky the raccoon, plenty of free fire wood, amazing fall colors, fresh air and totally private!! Way better than a state park

We had such a lovely two nights here. It’s so close to the Twin Cities but feels so remote and peaceful. The site has a great flat area to set up the tent with a view of the water. We will be back
Wonderland Forest, is a lovely secluded spot to camp. We had a lovely break away from the cities. Enjoyed listening out for all the various bird calls, star gazing and beautiful sunrise. Lots to explore!
Christine's directions and instructions clear, always helpful & friendly. She also provided a great list of things to do locally!
Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.

The campsite was great! The directions she gave us were easy to follow and we had no problems finding the campsite. The walk to the campsite was not bad, and a wagon was already there to help pack our stuff in. The view of the lake was spectacular and we also managed to see the sunset from the kayaks.
