DragSmith Farms is a 104 acre Certified Organic produce farm with 10,000 square feet of greenhouses and an on farm store. We grow organic produce and microgreens that we sell to restaurants in the Twin Cities and western WI. We have 40 acres of property that we do not use for farming that is wooded, swampy and has a river as the boundary on side. The river is a class "A" trout stream that is about 30 feet wide and is great for canoeing and fishing.

Ther are 2 tent sites at the Yellow River Site which is a flat grassy area along the Yellow River near the main farmhouse and a paved road. A picnic table and fire ring are located adjacent to the site and may be shared with other campers. The Yellow River is a very clean river with brown trout, ducks, geese, deer and other wildlife using it for food and water daily, including daily fly overs of a Bald Eagle looking for food. The Yellow River is a great, but challenging, river for canoes and tubes (provided, but bring your own life vest) with lots of twists and turns but mostly flat and no rapids to conquer. It is a good river for wading in but not so much for swimming because it is fairly shallow.

We can accommodate up to 4 large self contained RV's or tents on sites near the "Packing Shed" or at the farm head quarters on the Yellow River. We are working to develop 10 tent camping sites on a 40 acre undeveloped property where the bear, deer and eagles are free to roam. You will have to fjord a river and hike in for this exquisite experience. You will be required to carry out ALL of your refuse and leave the sites in better condition than you found them.

I camped close to their house on the river with picnic table and fire ring. It was grassy but level. Great hosts! Just ask Gail for a tour of her greenhouses! Great micro greens, produce and plants!!

Yellow River Site
I love that these farmers have taken 40 acres out of conventional agriculture and support and praise them for it. Unfortunately while the farm is bordered by the river on one side it is surrounded by conventional farms and confine and feed animal operations with the toxic chemicals and smells that entails. We pulled into the farm, stepped outside to evaluate the smells, and got back in our camper to find another place for the night. If you are less sensitive to suck things, this place would be awesome.

Very peaceful and beautiful. Loved the river and the host offered us a canoe to use if we wanted. If you go make sure to stop at their store. Veggies and squash were great. Thank you for sharing your place with us.
