Trapper Arts Retreat in NW Wisconsin has (3) waterfront sites and (1) wooded site. Located on a 1/4 mile long dead-end road (except Bob Lake West) on a 90 acre lake and only 5 minutes from the Chippewa County Forest! The Chippewa County Forest (over 10,000 acres) Hickory Ridge Trailhead is located about 5 miles away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life. LIST OF SITES (all of our sites now include a portable toilet, firewood, fire ring, water, power, picnic table and/or chairs). BIRCH Waterfront is named for the beautiful birch trees that frame your view of the lake that also includes soothing evening loon sounds :) It is our medium size campsite with a level gravel and grass pad with lakefront access via the long wooded dock and an included row boat for fishing and boating. EAGLE POINT Waterfront is a favorite because it is the most private, surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock. This site has a canoe and a row boat and the best spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps! BOB LAKE WEST Waterfront is our only site that is not on this dead end road. It is located on the west side of the lake near the boat landing. This site has a bonus small storage shed which could be a cool kids cabin. It is partially wooded elevated site with stunning sunrise views. WOODED RUSTIC is a non-waterfront campsite for both tents or RV's that has been updated to a site with power and water and includes access to the lake and a row boat at our common access which is only about 200 yards down the road from this site. RV's can park on the gravel pad and tent guests can setup down the walking trail in the woods. This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several successful businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

We are renting out our gorgeous river property located on the Chippewa River in Exeland, WI!! Our 5-acre property is equipped with electricity and power pedestals for multiple RVs, lots of space for outdoor games, a campfire area surrounded by string lights, and newly-constructed steps down to the river. There is a deep swimming hole out in front of the property, great for fishing too, and a boat landing across the river for putting in kayaks and fishing boats. Right off our river bank, we have caught muskys, catfish, smallmouth bass, and northern. We have four kayaks and two paddleboards included with the rental and firewood. There is also direct ATV and UTV access from County Highway Rd D to multiple trails heading towards the Blue Hills and endless trails heading to the UP. In 2024, we added a new gravel camper parking area that can accommodate 4 campers (30-amp hookups each), as well as (2) 30-amp hookups in the grassy part of the site. First RV is included in the rental, each additional rig is $50.

While it does not have electricity, there is an outlet on the property to charge phones, etc. BATHROOM: Our well maintained outhouse is a short walk from the tent site, and stays stocked with TP. It also has a solar light for night-time visits. CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up or pull-behind. Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site. *Summer /Fall '23 we began building our cabin and trailer access has changed a bit. Please inquire about camper use before booking. *We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. The yurt itself was a beautifully set up — spacious, warm, and very accommodating. Even with the cool October evenings, the heated yurt kept us toasty, and gathering around for games of dominoes while being warm and cozy. If you’re looking for something memorable and a little different, I recommend this yurt. The blend of nature, comfort, and family connection made it one of our favorite getaways. We’ll be back next fall!

I’m so grateful for my time at Hill Camp. It felt like a dream waking up every morning as the sun rose over meadows full of aster and goldenrod. Sue and Allen were warm and kind and gave me great tips for places to check out, including an Amish bakery nearby! At night, you can see the Milky Way and hear full convos between owls and katydids and even (I think!) coyotes. During hunting season, you might periodically hear gun shots in the distance, but only during the day. In terms of amenities, the port-a-potty is very close, and if you need access to a sink or electricity, they have both at their cute little greenhouse down the way. This was my first time camping at a farm, and I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again 🥹🌾✨

Joyce was a lovely host and met us when we arrived. Her camping area was flawless and scenic. She provided very kind small touches and the environment was relaxing. We used her site as a stop over during a longer trip but would certainly recommend for a family just wanting to bond and spend a quiet weekend outside together. We have dogs and had the luxury of letting them frolic off leash because we had the place to our selves. There is a small county highway fully out of sight and you can only slightly hear vehicles.

We had water & electric hook ups at our site. And we caught some good sized bass and small sun fish. We didnt have any luck with northern but also unfamiliar with the area so that'd be on us. ;) we are used to goijg to places where campers are on top of each other with lots and lots of amenities because we have little kids. This place was the opposite but we loved it just as much! This trip was for just my husband and myself for our 9 year anniversary. We'd definitely come back with our kids but would probably stay at the Eagles Nest campsite for that trip just for the dock. But could totally do the same one with our kids too.

Good Root growers was amazing! The Sumac Camp was smaller then I expected but honestly it was perfect for my friends and I. There was 7 of us and two dogs. LOVED the greenhouse. And the Amish Bakery was delicious. The bakeries only take cash and it’s just a mile away! We had an amazing time for my birthday weekend and would love to come back again!!

Beautiful, private site above Bob Lake in gorgeous tall pines. Lovely setting for a gathering of friends. Hiking nearby at Hickory Ridge was a nice 3.5 mile hike. Canoeing, row boats and swimming made us hungry for pizza making and a game night. Even the rain didn't dampen our fun! Can't wait for another trip!

Trapper Arts Retreat in NW Wisconsin has (3) waterfront sites and (1) wooded site. Located on a 1/4 mile long dead-end road (except Bob Lake West) on a 90 acre lake and only 5 minutes from the Chippewa County Forest! The Chippewa County Forest (over 10,000 acres) Hickory Ridge Trailhead is located about 5 miles away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life. LIST OF SITES (all of our sites now include a portable toilet, firewood, fire ring, water, power, picnic table and/or chairs). BIRCH Waterfront is named for the beautiful birch trees that frame your view of the lake that also includes soothing evening loon sounds :) It is our medium size campsite with a level gravel and grass pad with lakefront access via the long wooded dock and an included row boat for fishing and boating. EAGLE POINT Waterfront is a favorite because it is the most private, surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock. This site has a canoe and a row boat and the best spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps! BOB LAKE WEST Waterfront is our only site that is not on this dead end road. It is located on the west side of the lake near the boat landing. This site has a bonus small storage shed which could be a cool kids cabin. It is partially wooded elevated site with stunning sunrise views. WOODED RUSTIC is a non-waterfront campsite for both tents or RV's that has been updated to a site with power and water and includes access to the lake and a row boat at our common access which is only about 200 yards down the road from this site. RV's can park on the gravel pad and tent guests can setup down the walking trail in the woods. This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several successful businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

We are renting out our gorgeous river property located on the Chippewa River in Exeland, WI!! Our 5-acre property is equipped with electricity and power pedestals for multiple RVs, lots of space for outdoor games, a campfire area surrounded by string lights, and newly-constructed steps down to the river. There is a deep swimming hole out in front of the property, great for fishing too, and a boat landing across the river for putting in kayaks and fishing boats. Right off our river bank, we have caught muskys, catfish, smallmouth bass, and northern. We have four kayaks and two paddleboards included with the rental and firewood. There is also direct ATV and UTV access from County Highway Rd D to multiple trails heading towards the Blue Hills and endless trails heading to the UP. Welcome to Winter Willow Barn and Breakfast! Open mid-April through December 1st. Nestled in the heart of our family hobby farm, Winter Willow offers a cozy retreat with an optional home cooked breakfast. Wake to farm-fresh eggs, local breads, homemade jam and hot herbal tea. The property features wooded walking trails, swings, and a secluded fire pit for your enjoyment. Enjoy your stay in our private and spacious (30X40) two-level historic barn and loft. Accessible by a modern staircase, your loft retreat features a queen bed with premium bedding, a trundle with two twin beds, inviting sofa, a pellet stove and cozy blankets, recycled floors, an antique wash stand and basin complete with soap, refrigerator, coffee corner with coffee maker (filters) and coffees/teas, and a children's corner featuring books and toys. Full electric as well. Downstairs (not heated) features a small kitchen area with sink and propane stove/griddle and a bathroom area with a portable/flushing toilet. Plates, bowls and cutlery are provided along with cooking utensils and a handful of pots, pans, and bowls. Salt, sugar, and olive oil also provided. We provide filtered water and cream in the refrigerator upon your arrival, and for families with young children we have a gate to block the staircase and outlet caps for added security. Twelve chickens are a part of our family, and you are welcome to feed the chickens clover or fresh flowers, and help us plant flowers or pick apples depending on the season! We also have two farm dogs and two farm cats who might want to say hello.
