Pitch your tent at one of our walk-In forest campsites on 60 acres along Prairie Creek in Rice County, MN. Explore the creeks, trails, forest, our enormous granite "split rock" erratic, a 60 acre county park featuring waterfalls and trails, including a single track mountain bike trail. That's 120 acres of exploring outside your tent; this campground truly offers a large amount of remote forest for recreation right on site.
Thank you for a great 2025 camping season! We hosted more Hipcampers than any year before and are excited to have been honored again with a Best in Minnesota award. Every year we have more and more returning campers; we are honored that you make us part of your memories. Thank you and we look forward to a great 2026 season!
Big Woods State Park is less than 2 miles away. Faribault is 8 miles and Northfield is 9 miles from our driveway; they offer dining, boutiques, and all other amenities. Nerstrand is 4.5 miles east and has a gas station and a fantastic meat market. Numerous Cannon River put-ins are within 10 miles.
We do not have firewood available at the campground; please plan ahead to bring firewood with you.
A map of the land is in the photos and shows locations of sites, parking and more. All Sites are Walk-In! We have a cart you may use to haul gear in.
Vehicles: Our main parking area by sites 1, 2, & 3 is easily accessible. The road to the secondary parking area beside our hilltop site 4 is up an adventurous gravel road (but is very accessible).
Kids under 16 camping with their parents do not count in pricing.
This campground is managed by Stephen and Molly on land owned by them and their father Ted. In 1961, Stephen's grandparents bought this farm. In addition to farming they also operated a trail riding stable here. Over the years, the arable land has been sold, but we retained the wooded areas which are twice crossed by creeks. About 30 years ago, a 60 acre county park bordering the south and west sides of our land was created.
We are very excited to host campers as a way to preserve and share this beautiful property.

Unlike our other Farm event spaces which are pet-free, we welcome your furry friend to stay with you in our glamping tents. Pets must remain leashed when outside the tent and stay within the designated glamping area throughout their visit.
We do have dogs at the farm that are friendly, but not on leash.

I offer three distinct ways to stay, ensuring every kind of camper can find their perfect pocket of privacy:
The RV Spot: A dedicated, easy-access space to park your rig. You’ll get the benefit of a private setting without the crowded, cramped feel of a traditional commercial RV park. The spot is next to the garage so it's not "out in nature" but it's easy to back into with my driveway. There are also less bugs because it's not out in the 'back 40' :)
The Camping Spot: For the purists who want to pitch a tent right on the ground. Fall asleep to the rustle of the leaves and wake up surrounded by clover and wildflowers. You can choose anywhere on my 5 acres! No amenities available.
Things to Know & Ground Rules
A Note on Pets: I love animals, but because my elderly dog and chickens rule the roost and roam freely, all guest dogs/pets must be strictly leashed at all times for everyone's safety. No exceptions.
The Landscape: Because I do not meticulously mow or maintain traditional perennials, the ground can be uneven, and grasses can be tall. Wear appropriate footwear, bring insect protection, and embrace the wild!

Enjoy 10 acres shared between 2 sites! The two campsites are large and can accommodate approximately 6 tents comfortably at each. If more is needed let us know we have room and can accommodate. There is a shared bathroom/changing room and trash/recycling between the sites. There is a hand pump well left of the last gate if you need to fill up on drinking water just make sure you have a container for it. Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed at the farm stand. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from Lake George and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! We are very pet friendly and like to meet new furry faces, so feel free to bring them along!

Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! Fall is quickly arriving! We are a small, 15 acre property, that's located within one hour from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Our farm has wooded trails, bonfire pits, with amazing sunrises and sunsets. It is quiet and very peaceful. Our little town is 10 minutes from most shopping, with multiple restaurants minutes away. It's also very close to lakes and rivers for kayak/canoe enthusiasts, boaters, or visiting those parks for hiking, swimming and more.
We offer multiple locations to camp on the property. There is a concrete pad with (2) 30-amp electric and (2) water hookups. The 2 sites with hookups are very level and easy to park on. There are many other areas to park and camp, with access to water for filling up tanks, and an outhouse for bathroom needs.
Disc golf, bean bag, and ladder game are available upon request. Firewood available for a small fee.
Pets are welcome, but must be leashed and under owner's control at all times when outside. Maximum of two pets per site.

The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. You can also set up a time to come up to the farm and purchase meat. - The beautiful, historic town of Red Wing is 10 minutes from our farm. We (40/50yos) loved camping on Christine’s land! The walk is pleasant, beautiful, and shaded. The campsite is HUGE and private. When I say private I mean actually private! The bucket toilet was convenient and easy to use. We saw endless amount of fun birds in the lake. We even saw a couple forest frogs- very cool! We’ll be back.

Weekend Trip to Alpha and Omega Pizza Farm
Kim and everyone at Alpha and Omega were such wonderful hosts! We camped during a pizza farm night which made the experience even more fun. We loved waking up and greeting all the animals (pigs, goats, donkeys, cows and alpacas). Kim’s delivery of fresh baked caramel rolls, coffee and orange juice was icing on the cake. Definitely recommend to families looking for a fun getaway close to the twin cities.

Really great site, we had beautiful weather and didn't really spend much time in the cabin. There was plenty of firewood available to us which was really great. When we were going to bed we couldn't help but think we missed out cause the cabin was really great. Great time, great site and great cabin.

1 night at Belle Creek Bluff
Overall amazing site. River is clear, secluded and beautiful. Only downside I would say is that the main front door doesn’t lock. Although the screen door does it was definitely a worry through the night. Great service. Great price. Love this place so much and we had a blast!

Honeyberry Farm site 2A was wonderful. Very quiet and out of the way. Surrounded by various farmland. George was wonderful and very friendly as was the area farmers we met. It’s close to Stillwater and Lake Elmo. We will be back again, hopefully during the berry harvest this time.

Weekend Trip to Alpha and Omega Pizza Farm
We had a wonderful day of goat yoga, delicious pizza and a roaring fire with lots of grounding nature. The tent and Scandinavian breakfast were perfect for two best friends treating themselves for pre-Mother’s day. Thank you so much for a wonderful mini-retreat!!

This place was amazing. Private with lots of beautiful woods and bright stars at night. Walking path to get out into nature. Host was very friendly and flexible and has wood available for camp fires for a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

I stayed in site 4, which is on the hilltop. It was very private and peaceful. Had plenty of access to walking trails in the woods. There is a really cool little waterfall and a huge boulder not a far walk from the site. There is access to potable water and a toilet, but it’s a little bit of a walk from the site. Stephen was a very good host. Overall, it was perfect for me and my dog and would highly recommend for someone looking for a remote spot with privacy. If you are in a car, which I was, you can make it up the final hill for parking if it’s dry, which I was able to with no problem. Maybe park in the first spot if it’s wet and you don’t have 4 wheel drive.

Molly and Stephen are great hosts with beautiful sites. We were at site 3, and the creek was babbling the entire stay. Everything that you need- potable water and outhouse are less than a 5 minute walk away. On arrival there was a cart to help carry things to your site. The walk from the parking area to site 3 is completely flat, cleared, and mostly gravel. Molly and Stephen will check up on you when you first arrive and you will see them around as you walk the paths on their property. The near by town for fire wood and last minute items is like a 10 minute drive away. Loved this place!

This place is really special. I almost wondered if maybe I’d died and gone to heaven. What a treat to spend some time in this magical place with all the animals and beautiful views. On top of the farm animals, I saw so many deer and birds (sandhill cranes were often hanging out in the field). It’s such a beautiful and peaceful place, and Kim and Brad were great hosts - very welcoming and accommodating. Add the sauna and coffee/homemade caramel rolls - 100% worth the extra treat!

This place is perfect! So glad to find a private quiet spot to dry camp in a large rig without driving two hours north. They even dropped off firewood free of charge upon request. We will be returning to Gus’s Grove in the future for sure!
