Unique and peaceful experience. We paid for the farm tour and it was really fun to learn about off-grid, small scale farming. Location feels remote but is within a quick drive of Taylor's Falls and Wild River State Park. Enjoyed 3 days there just recharging and taking quick trips to the State Parks.

Kelsey and her farm are both so so sweet and wonderful! I was sad I had to leave so soon. There are lots of flat camping spots, porta potty is clean, fire ring is stocked, and the farm is beautiful. I was sung to sleep by wood thrushes, coyotes and barred owls. Kelsey was a wonderful host and made sure I was oriented well. A great place for anyone needing a peaceful refuge!

Our stay was awesome! We wanted to get away for a weekend for my partner's birthday and to get out of the cities for a bit. Kelsey was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed, and offered some great recommendations for things to see. The campsite was clean and convenient, and we loved it. Highly recommend.

Kelsey was great! Welcoming via messaging and in person. She made me, my 11-year-old granddaughter, and my friend feel right at home for our overnight of camping during MEA weekend. We had fun despite temperatures dipping to the low 30s at night with snow flurries the next morning. Bean bag toss, migrating geese and star gazing, and the crow of a rooster across the road all helped. Kelsey's pollinator trail must be amazing mid- to late-summer; we enjoyed walking it even in its dormancy. Kelsey's land is close to both Wild River and Interstate Parks. Because of the weather, we opted for a walk through nearby Franconia Sculpture Park. A stop afterward for take-out from Kelsey's recommended, Juneberry Café, Taylors Falls, was the right way to end our cold and COVID-conscious trip. Now that we've met Kelsey, we're planning to visit her Heirloomista site for her handcrafted soaps. And, given that her site is only an hour from the Cities, we'll plan to return. Thanks again for your hospitality, Kelsey!

Staying at Kelsey’s farm was just the best experience. When we pulled up, Kelsey was out working in her farm getting prepared for the upcoming freeze. We had told her we were interested in starting a small farm ourselves, so she encouraged us to book a tour of the farm, which we happily did. Kelsey took the time to show us around, answer all of our questions and explain all of the amazing sustainable practices she has going on at her farm.
We had the opportunity to see all of her vegetable rows, the hoop house, took a walk through the pollinator garden, and had the pleasure of seeing her beehive.
There are plenty of places to set up camp, though we opted to sleep in our truck because of the unexpected freezing temperatures. She said we were welcome to move about in the camping area if we wanted to get away from road noise (which there isn’t any). Her farm stand, though closed due to Covid, was adorable. She also had a lovely fire ring set up with plenty of firewood and seating. Fresh water was also available and the toilet was super clean, with convenient lamps to utilize.
Barred and great horned owls, sandhill cranes, and the occasional bellow of nearby cows could be heard, adding to the ambience of the setting.
Kelsey is incredibly friendly, and a great host. She deserves all of the support for what she is doing for her community on her small farm. I highly recommend a stay at Kelsey’s farm.

Kelsey was super inviting and met us when we arrived. She gave us a tour of the space and gave us suggestions for what to do on the site and in the surrounding area. The site was very clean and had a solar well for water refill. We really enjoyed using the fire pit.
Would highly recommend this site as a place to camp and Kelsey as a phenomenal host.

Kelsey was a lovely host! She made sure our stay was comfortable and welcoming. We loved how much wood was provided for the campfire, and how open of a space the farm was. I forgot my sleeping pad and I didn’t even end up needing it because the ground was so soft. Kelsey gave us a tour of her solar farm and we were able to purchase some fresh veggies from her as well! The location is extremely close to Taylor’s Falls, which made our hike plans very easy! Would camp here again!

This trip was everything I needed. I waited until the last minute to plan a trip away for the holiday weekend and was so excited to find the farm on Hipcamp. I picked the hottest weekend of the summer to visit the farm and Kelsey was an incredible host. She made sure I had shelter from the sun, helped me build fires every night and gave me amazing recommendations for activities to do nearby. The tour around the farm was so impressive and inspired me to do more work in my small home garden! Kelsey is doing amazing things for the planet and I really admire her. Can’t wait to get back and visit (when it’s a bit cooler 😅)! Thank you Kelsey!

Kelsey was a very thoughtful host. She walked us through the workings of the farm, including the solar-powered water pump. Very impressive! It’s clear that Kelsey takes great pride in her farm and work. She made sure we had a full gallon of cool water upon arrival. Site was flat and comfortable with a lovely fire ring and giant farm-style table.
Bonus points for the bean bag toss, which we made good use of with a couple folks that visited us from the Twin Cities. Also, really enjoyed Taylors Falls, a nearby town on the St. Croix.
Lovely experience! Recommended.

We enjoyed our short stay at Kelsey’s farm.
It was really cute and a decent size farm.
We enjoyed chatting with Kelsey about her farm and appreciated her recommendations on what to do and see.
Please do note that the farm isn’t surrounded by trees so cars that pass by on the small road will see you. It’s a pretty open field but the road isn’t busy so there isn’t much traffic. Otherwise she has an area designated for camping with a fire ring. It’s all clean and sectioned off.
We would recommend her farm if you’re looking for a quick trip away from the city and wanting to explore nearby state parks and towns. We really enjoyed exploring Interstate Park and eating at the Drive In.

Kelsey's farm is a great spot to escape the city and relax. We had a great time and it was a perfect reset after a long week. She wants you to come here to unplug, so make sure to bring a good book but leave most of the tech at home. :)
Make sure to enjoy the pollinator field, campfire and stay up for the stars on clear nights!
