Great quiet relaxing location, with wildlife and the sound of the country. You will have the only camp site on the property. You can stay in the small camping cabin in comfort with your own bedding, or bring a sleeping bag. We have the twin bed in the loft, or use the futon on the main level. The cabin only has room for two adults unless you bring a camp pad to sleep on the floor, or squeeze in a child, but you have the comforts of an A/C , a Weber grill, mini fridge, microwave, and Electricity. Quiet former country farm site, with great wildlife viewing options with walking trails. Only 23 miles to DT St. Cloud and 7 Miles to the Walmart in Princeton for food or supplies. If a shower is desired the Kwik Trip in St Cloud, on Hwy 10 has showers. Just a half mile off Hwy 95 and 5 miles from the large Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, with trails and lots of wildlife. In the Fall expect to see a large amount of wildlife with many migrating birds come out of the refuge to feed. Expect to hear Pheasant's cackle in the AM, and see Sandhill Cranes and Geese fly over the camp site, or sitting in area fields. Enjoy time around a campfire with folding chairs and a picknick table, with plenty of free dry firewood in a storage rack.

Over the years we have developed our sustainable farm, raising grass-fed cattle, chickens, and various other animals over the years. We also breed Bernese Mountain Dogs, so you'll see some of our pack wandering the property. We work hard to maintain practices that heal the land and preserve it for the future. No chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, pesticides or herbicides are used here. We raised our four children here and have made many memories together as we learned to farm, build and enjoy our land. We continue to create and build towards a long-term vision, creating a haven for artisans with self-sufficient living in mind. Welcome to our inviting custom built cottage. It is located on our property, approximately 300' from on our home on our 55 acre land plot, located 10 minutes outside of St. Joseph, MN. We are very near St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict. Hiking trails located on our property as well as nearby County parks and St. John's University. We are 6 miles from the Wobegon Trail (76 miles long) which is great for biking, roller blading, walking and running. Come explore Creekwood Acres which is host to a great deal of wild life as well as sustainably raised animals with a process we call rejuvenative farming. Wander through the woods and listen to the birds, watch monarch butterflies, our cattle and hear the, frogs, crickets and occasionally distant coyotes. The Watab Creek runs through the property which consists of fields, forest and a pond. Our cozy cottage was built by our family using lumber sawn on our property. There are two double beds up in the loft accessible by ladder and one queen size sofa sleeper (very comfortable!) on the main level . A wood burning stove keeps the cottage cozy in cooler weather. There is a bathroom with flushing toilet and shower. Electricity keeps the cottage aglow and runs a refrigerator, microwave, sound system and fans. Also available for your convenience, an apartment size range and kitchen sink. Enjoy a fire in a private fire ring near the cottage. Firewood available for purchase (for exterior fire ring). Enjoy a wood-fired sauna upon request. The sauna has been known to get quite hot! In other words, its no place for a party. Separate from the campground there are: apple orchards, outdoor sculptures, wildlife, a meditation kuti, and perfect spaces for forest therapy. Yet unbelieveably, you can walk to a Pizza Hut or Walmart in 5 minutes. This is an excellent staging point for outdoors folks on their way to camp or canoe the forests and lakes of northern Minnesota.

This was a great getaway! I wanted to camp and only had a day so the thought of all the setup and tear down for my tent was a lot. For the same price as a campsite I got this little cabin in a fully private area where my dog could be off leash with no worries. The cabin was cute, both sleeping areas were comfy, and the free wood was a nice touch. Only downside was a bit of road noise and no water on site. I will be back. If you like agates take a walk down the street. The pic I took is just from two walks to the right of the property. They’re everywhere!

It’s a great spot right in Alexandria! Easy to find, easy to back in, Scott was a great host and made us feel very welcome! Right between the lakes and still felt like we were out in nature, which is just what we were looking for. So many stars! Thanks so much guys!

Weekend Trip to Buttersprocket

I had a great stay at Buttersprocket. David was a fantastic host. The “gazebo” was the perfect place to spend a couple of nights. The fire pit area was excellent, along with the outdoor furniture & fire table. David let me know about the all the wild life I’d be seeing, and he was spot on with all the animal sitings! I really was just looking for a little end of summer relaxing getaway and Buttersprocket delivered. Would stay again.

The host went way beyond to make our stayenjoyable and memorable. Some reviews said the site was to close to the home. But really it was really no closer than another camper at most camping grounds. We barely saw the owners unless they were asking if we needed more wood or anything else. I admit I was a little nervous at first, but I would and will stay here again.

We loved staying at Buttersprocket! David was such a kind host, and we really enjoyed canoeing on the lake and the sounds of nature. We saw some deer and a large bald eagle!

Weekend Trip to The little cabin

The Little Cabin was a sweet and private tiny space in a private area with lots of wooded paths around to explore. My senior dog, Sven, was as happy as can be wandering the paths and sleeping cozily on the floor of the cabin. This is a very tiny space; in my case, just right for the two of us. It was incredibly quiet over the weekend; I saw only one car on the gravel road out front, and the air was filled with wonderful bird, cricket, and frog sounds. The property was very private and I actually heard nor saw any humans at all, which I very much appreciated. I will be very excited to return again soon!
