Enjoy our back lot for a private campsite which borders a prairie preserve. Watch the deer come in the morning and evening and listen to our friendly, happy hens cluck away, not to mention all the beautiful song birds. We are happy to share our golf clubs and balls to hit a few into the field. Our kids love it!
Tree coverage along with an open field. We cut the field to offer a walking trail to the prairie preserve. There is a tree surronded, very private tent site for tenters, but if you have a camper you can find a spot that works best for you! (The tent site is very private and a camper would not fit.)
We are a short 10 min drive to Stillwater but there is so much to do in Somerset! Take a walk around the prairie preserve and kayak down the apple river, but don’t forget the local brewery and boutique shop. There is some great fishing on local lakes in the area as well. We offer a 30 amp electric hook up and our hose for water. We also have a shower tent with a camping porta potty.

Two campsites or our chalet which sleeps five are available. Campsites are near a fabulous 10 acre deep spring fed lake. One campsite is in the prairie with a expansive view where 5 or 6 tents are possible. 2nd campsite is for one tent and is lakeside. Quiet peaceful trails through the woods. Animals at the home base (outside only). The chalet (in the pictures) , has all the needed amenities; shower, fridge, etc. No food or oil or gas or soap in the lake. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, always on a leash or tether, and never indoors. We do have life jackets available, but no sizes appropriate for small children (bring your own). Note: Site does not have an assigned address but the driveway is next to our cabin on the North side of the Snake River in Pine City MN, NOT Rock Creek MN. The site is a vacant lot and has the better river view and experience as its a small peninsula that juts out to the river with rapids. There is a swimming area right next to the campsite or feel free to jump into the rapids if you want a rush. There is fishing right there as well, mostly large and small mouth bass.
There is parking off the road and a short walk to the campsite, just follow the sounds of the river. Small wagons are provided to help with getting gear down to the river tent site. There is a composting toilet, it uses a "separator" where #1 goes back to the earth (as it is sterile and liquid) and #2 goes into a bucket and is covered with wood chips. There is also a standing urinal for men if desired. If you would prefer to use a pit toilet there is one on the property with directions marked with a sign. It is a farther walk however, about 100 yards from the tent site and on the cabin property near the driveway. If you want something even more convenient, feel free to bring your own.
Firewood is available for sale onsite or feel free to clean up dead wood lying along the trail at no cost.
The tent site is right next to rapids on the Snake river. If you struggle sleeping to the sound of rushing water, this may not be for you!

We're also available for other events like birthday parties, intimate weddings, and group gatherings at our gazebo and/or 20ft x 40ft party tent.
Several lakes in the area provide numerous options for fishing, boating, and hiking. And nothing beats those evening country road walks while agate hunting!

Believe it or not, the quonset hut and cabin was a perfect shield from the storm that blew through on our overnight stay. We still rocked and rolled a little, but nowhere as near as bad as if we were out in the open. Peter welcomed us when we arrived to verify we found the space correctly. The farm is a cute location and I wish we had more time to spend on Lake Elmo.

We brought grandpa and grandma with this trip and they had an absolute blast seeing the animals and helping with chores. What a special spot on the river. We were all to ourselves aside from the bugs. Beautiful spot with your own little rapids section to cool off in. Saw tons of wildlife on the road in including a bear cub and fawn, tons of birds, and lots of crawdads. 10/10. We will be back.

Such an adorable farm that is well set up for any type of camping. We had our truck and toy hauler, and there was plenty of space for us to spread out. The flowers were beautiful to walk-through, and the alpacas and sheep friendly and adorable, and the small self-service shop was such a fun addition. We had our kids (11 & 14) along, and they didn’t want to leave. Would highly recommend, can’t wait to come back.

This is my second stay and it was just as lovely as the first time. Esther met me with information and some delicious cookies. The farm is beautiful and peaceful. The whole area has really picturesque small farms with signs along the road advertising farm fresh eggs for sale. Esther and Joel have free range chickens that add some country ambience. If you are just stopping over on your way somewhere or making this your destination, it's worth it.

Nice place. Clean and with necessary appliances in good working condition. Grill for barbecue. WiFi was enough to support Airplay. Bunkbed top bunk is a bit rickety, but bottom bunk was fine. Good shower. TV is sometimes hard to hear due to small internal speakers, but lots to do other than TV nearby.
River access is shallow but deeper water is very close. Fishing was pretty good too but be prepared for snags (heavy braided line, top water baits, swim baits, recommended). There is an absolute monster pike nearby that is a joy to water breech the water as it chases prey. Very pretty scene overall.

St. Croix National Scenic Riverway
Campers often look for the waterfall that Taylors Falls was named after—instead, they’re treated to stunning views of rushing water over the St. Croix River Dam. While Taylors Falls doesn’t have a natural waterfall, the dam boasts river views, and hiking opportunities along the St. Croix. Rapids under the Highway 8 bridge make for another great way to admire the powerful river. Stay close to the water in a log cabin or safari tent, and consider making your way further north to Wild River State Park.
Gandy Dancer Trail
Campers can explore 98 miles of the wide, comfortable, car-free, gravel Gandy Dancer Trail that starts in St. Croix and runs north. For a lighter excursion, try the 14-mile Stower Seven Lakes State Trail. Tent campsites in the St. Croix Valley and nearby Interstate State Park make it easy to set up near Gandy Dancer and hike or bike to and from the campsite for a local adventure.
Franconia Sculpture Park
Catch some culture while exploring the outdoors at this 50-acre sculpture park. The free open-air space is accessible to the public with an ever-changing array of works by new artists, and even better, many sculptures are safe to interact with, so kids and adults can enjoy the art walk. Open from 8am to 8pm every day, it’s an ideal spot to hit on a weekend camping trip or last-minute excursions. Find a nearby cabin in the Chisago Lakes for a spacious group stay, or park at an RV campsite and drive to Franconia for a day trip.
When to go
The most popular time to go camping near Taylors Falls is June to late August, when warm weather is comfortable day and night. Spring brings a host of seasonal wildflowers, while vibrant fall colors decorate the trees later in the year—and both seasons offer smaller crowds. Expect snow from late October through mid-April, when nearby terrain parks draw skiers and snowboarders.
