Enjoy a peaceful escape on our private 3.5-acre lot, perfect for tent camping or RVs. The upper site includes an electric hook-up, outhouse, and a dedicated fire pit for campfires under the stars. Surrounded by woods on either side, it offers a quiet, semi-secluded spot for nature lovers. A short trail (400 feet or a little over a football field) leads through the forest to the Snake River, where you’ll find a second fire pit with chairs, solar lighting, and a private dock that is shared with just our cabin and a campsite. If you are tenting, you can tent at the river but do not drive on the trail. The river is great for fishing, swimming, canoeing, or kayaking, and can accommodate small boats. Multiple public boat landings are located up and down the river for easy drop off and access points. The property lines are outlined in the overview picture. Please do not go to the east of the trail to provide ample space for privacy with our neighbors. The red on the map is the camping area with electricity and outhouse. Our personal log cabin is the blue dot but there is a significant tree line in between. If we are there, we are happy to give you a tour. The blue line is the trail. The white area is our property on the river and available for tent only or to hang out for the day if you choose to camp up top. The purple area is where the goats are busy eating. Come and visit them! While the site does not have running water, you’ll be camping right next to our family cabin, and we’re happy to help with anything you might need. We also have friendly goats on the property that guests are welcome to visit! There’s also plenty to explore nearby. Just minutes away, Braham offers a quirky “hole-in-the-wall” bowling alley and some charming local shops. Head north to Pine City for more options, including restaurants, a larger grocery store, and additional shopping. History buffs will enjoy visiting the Snake River Fur Trading Post, a Minnesota historical site. And if you’re in the mood for a local treat, Sapsucker Farms is a nearby cidery open on weekends, often hosting live music, food trucks, and hiking trails. There are 5 State Parks within an hour drive. Ask your hosts for even more ideas—they’re happy to share local favorites!Welcome. There is no potable water access so you will need to bring your own, but swimming in the river can be refreshing. Bugs can always a nuisance in Minnesota so plan accordingly. Good bug spray does the trick. Clear nights make for great Star gazing and is a great experience with very little light pollution to interrupt it. We have our cabin next door and are around most weekends. We may check in to see how things are going but other than that, you won't be bothered.

Love the river site and the privacy ….. it was a walk in campsite. The owners were very personal and welling to help us with anything we needed. It was great to have all the fire wood and water toys provided for us.. Enjoyed my weekend….. Thank you❤️

Lazy River Campsite
There were 5 of us camping at the Lazy River Landing camp site in August 2026. We could not have had a better time. We found the place to be exactly as advertised…private, secluded, peaceful and scenic with the river right there. Yes, there was a bit of a hike to get all our gear down to the river side camp area but that made it all the more secluded…well away from the road. Our hosts Anne & Adam were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. They even sprayed the area prior to our arrival to minimize the mosquitoes. That was awesome.!!! There was plenty of wood for the fire and even a canoe, a kayak and some other water toys we could use. Overall, it was an awesome weekend. We are already planning to go back next year!

Beautiful little spot! The trek can be a little long if you are not used to walking about a football field length, so please note that! Great spot with a great host!

We loved tenting by the river! Great spot for swimming and floating on tubes (there was even a cinder block for us to use as an anchor!) We brought our own grate for cooking over the fire- though host said they’d be getting one soon. It is a bit of a swampy area so def needed a lot of mosquito sprays/smokers. The barred owls were a nightly visitor- so cool to hang with! The bathroom was very nice. It was a very private spot- even the nearby goats were quite quiet- they were cute and enjoyed our fruit/veggie scraps. Highly recommend this spot!

Anne’s is a great host with top tier hospitality and communication! There were more than enough firewood provided for us to use and the outhouse was clean, stocked, and smelled pleasant. My partner and I decided to tent camp on the site closest to the road. Just a heads up, there are other neighboring properties nearby, and the site itself is right on the road, so we did see and hear some cars and people. If you want a more secluded site, Anne also has another site by the river, a small walk down from the first site. Unfortunately for us, this second spot was flooded from recent rainstorms and we were not able to set up camp there. We did, however, bring our water shoes and were able to walk to the site. It was beautiful and way more private! If we are able to come back, we would definitely choose to set up camp there instead. Another note: we went on a heatwave week, obviously a horrible idea for any lengthened outdoor activity, so to make the most of Anne’s beautiful land, don’t be like me, and go during cooler seasons! Overall, we had a great time there!

We had a nice trip here. The property seemed to be in a small neighborhood near the river. The upper campsite has a house on one side and the owner's cabin on the other side, but it still seemed fairly private. The lower campsite was very nice and private, with just one neighbor across the river, and they are well hidden by the tree line. There was a decent amount of ATV noise from the neighbors while we were there, other than that it was quite peaceful with lots of frogs croaking all night long. We would stay here again for sure.

My group had an amazing trip at the Lazy River Landing! The space was perfect for our group. Large and very private. Anne was a great host and was very responsive. Lots of wildlife to be seen. My group will definitely be back!

Lazy River campsite was a beautiful location for our family to camp! It was only an hour from the metro area but felt like we were much further out and was very private. There was plenty of space for multiple tents right along the river with a nice fire pit area, kayak and canoe, hammock, and picnic table. It would have been tricky moving all our gear to and from our car to the river area but the hosts were so helpful and assisted us with their 4-wheeler. There was an option to camp right next to the vehicles but we wanted to be next to the water. Outhouse was clean and stocked. Would definitely recommend!

Great little getaway about an hour from the twin cities. Camping area and riverside hang out were both lovely. The hosts were responsive, kind, and helpful. We had a great time sitting by the fire, exploring the river on the canoe, and just hanging out on the riverbank. Campsite was clean and level, easy to park in, and outhouse was super clean! Pro tip: when navigating in, the actual entrance is a bit past where GPS points you. Go PAST the property with the red gate, past the next drive, and then you’ll see the clearing with the outhouse.

This site was perfect!! We have a new pop up trailer that we took out for the first time and it was a fantastic experience! The electrical hook up was conveniently located in the first site area. There is also a tent or boondock site down by the river that you can choose to camp at. Both areas have nice fire pits and wood. Anne and her husband were wonderful! Thanks again!! Will be returning!

Great view of snake river. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Recommend camping by the river vs the road, but not a long walk to get to the river. Fun attractions nearby (rusty the dragon, sapsucker farms, state parks, etc).

One of our nicest camping trips - this is a great site! It was just the secluded, quiet retreat we were looking for. Hosts were friendly and responsive and accommodating, and full of great recommendations for other things to do in the area (we did some hiking at Banning State Park and some fishing with their tips). The goats are adorable - and contrary to one of the other reviewers, we almost never heard them. Kids had a blast on the river, and we loved letting our dog off-leash for our stay. This is a newer listing on HipCamp, and is sure to be a popular one.

Overall it was a great experience for us! I will say the trail leading down to the river was quite hard to navigate at night, more lighting on the trail at night would help to lead to the outhouse area much better the only other thing we would of enjoyed was if the goats were elsewhere because they were pretty loud and you could hear them majority of the time. Otherwise great experience would definitely go back!

Just got the chance to visit this place with my family — and wow, what an experience! When we first arrived and saw some nearby homes, I didn’t expect it to feel very private… but I was totally wrong. This ended up being one of the best camping spots I’ve ever been to. You get a lot of privacy right next to the lake, and they let you use their canoe, kayak, and splash pad. The kids swam all day in the lake and had an absolute blast. There’s even a fireplace by the lake — we saw deer on the drive in, and later that night, two owls were just sitting nearby while we hung out by the fire. Super cool. The walk to the campsite is about 6 minutes, and the outhouse was surprisingly clean and didn’t smell. The hosts were really friendly — stopped by to say hi but gave us plenty of space to relax and do our thing. This place is perfect for big groups, couples, or even solo trips. Overall, a great experience. I’d be happy to come back again.
