The Camps at the Vineyards

This was such a cute and cozy spot! There weren’t other nearby campers so it felt really secluded, intimate, and quiet. We weren’t too bothered by the gun shots, they sounded far away. There were mice droppings on the bed and later on our bedding, so gloves and some cleaning supplies would be nice if provided too. Otherwise, the air mattress was extremely comfortable, the A frame cabin wall was easy to open/close, and the river, although low and nonmoving at this time, provided great cooling off for my pups. It was very cool to be able to see a lightening show from bed too! Will very likely book again!

Beautiful place! This was my **third time camping here**, and I love it more every time. ❤️ Such a peaceful little spot tucked into the vineyards, with the river right there. I’ve solo camped here and brought the family, and we’ve fished, cooked meals, watched the kids have a blast, and enjoyed some absolutely amazing stars at night. ✨🌌 Great host, beautiful property, and truly one of my favorite places to get away. **Highly recommend!** ❤️

Carl was an excellent host! His hospitality was exceptional, communication was prompt, and his instructions were clear and easy to follow. One thing to note is that the GPS may take you a little past the campground entrance, so keep an eye out for the sign that says “The Vineyards Tent Camping.” Other than that, everything was straightforward. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend booking with him!

The land was great and the sites were well kept. Just be aware that site 9 has a small strip of forest along the bank to trek through to get to the stream. As I think most of the sites do. And the tent clearing is not very wide, but it is deep. And it is close to the road, though vehicles rarely go by. And unfortunately there were some nearby neighbor dogs that incessantly barked all day and night. But overall it was a very nice camp spot.

Beautiful land, the river was excited! I slept like a log listening to the river flow. The family/owners were incredible and I had such a great time with them. Very accommodating and I felt like I’ve known them my whole life. :)

Cute A-Frame with Stunning Views

The A-frame was so cute, right on the water, and offered beautiful views. The host, Carl, was incredibly gracious and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We loved the delicious pizza and the fantastic conversation. Highly recommend this spot!

Site 4 - The Camps at the Vineyards

The A frame was so fun to be in! I loved the concept of opening up the side and having the dogs relax and be able to go in and out when they wanted! The river right next to the site was peaceful, so many birds for bird watching and not too many mosquitoes when we went (although ticks loved our dogs). The owners let us try some of their wine and got to meet the other campers which was super fun and had a lot of laughs! Go meet Carl and his family, they are so wonderful. It’s right next to Rum River State Forest and not too far from Lake Mille Lacs. Great stay! Would come back :)

Stayed at the shed! Beautiful spot I had next to the sound of the river with SO many birds! Spring wildflowers were everywhere! Note to anyone planning on sleeping in the shed…the walls are full of critters! Nice came out at night fall. Bringing a tent for that site would be best. Overall gorgeous area and a wonderful experience out there! It’s my second stay and I’ll be coming back for a third!

Site 4 - The Camps at the Vineyards

Stayed at Site 4, which had a sleeping cabin. We opted to tent camp since there were clear skies and used the cabin for storage. Had the entire campground completely to ourselves which was lovely! The camp sites are very close together with no tree coverage to really separate sites so I imagine who your camping neighbors are really makes or breaks the experience!! Creek was cool and refreshing for a dip on the hottest part of the day- crawfish and tiny fish aplenty. Plus hearing the creek in the background was so peaceful. Carl brought over some wine on our second night and was a delight to meet! My only warning: TONS of ticks! We spotted many deer and dog ticks just before they got to us but appear to have walked away unscathed.

A BEAUTIFUL spot! Very peaceful spot on a slow moving river! On a Sunday in early spring there was lots of gunshots. I think there might be a nearby shooting range. Also had dogs barking all night that made me leave in the middle of the night. I’m assuming the dogs are not a usual issue but if the sounds of gunshots off in the distance bothers you this place might not be for you. Overall I loved the place and I’ll be coming back again. If the dog thing happens the second time I probably won’t return.

Site 6 - The Camps at The Vineyard

Nice quiet spot. I stayed at site 9 and it was visible from the road, but that probably wouldn’t be the case in the spring and summer. I came specifically to see the northern lights because it was the closest area to the Twin Cities with low light pollution, and it was perfect for that. Fairly tucked away with a big open field down the trail.

It was a very private rustic campsite. Carl's a very good host and will help out with whatever you need. The campground is right next to the Rum River State Forest with lots of hiking and trails to explore. The night skies are fantastic! I was able to have my dogs off leash, they loved exploring and taking a little dip in the river!

I lost my site

The site was private and groomed. There is no cell service but the host was available up the road. Carl, his wife and his daughter stopped by our site and were very welcoming and enjoyable. It was a wonderful visit and I plan to return and check out the mini cabin he has😁

Great communication and beautiful site! I was surprised to see my cell service did not work for the last few hundred feet of the drive but that concern was completely quelled by the beautiful river a few yards from my campsite. I am absolutely going to come back here.

Exactly how it's advertised very nice place.one negative was fire wood was worm infested,from a freshly falled tree.Literally impossible to burn. Couldn't have fire first night had to eat out. The guy was very very nice if I would have complained he would have made it right, so not entirely his fault.

Carl, the host, was very helpful and accommodating. After seeing I had smaller rig, he allowed me to change to a better spot. It was a nice and peaceful stay.

We enjoyed the property which is gorgeous. The A frame had a great view of the river. But...the site itself is small and the A frame shelter is pretty much taken up by the bed. My friend and I were okay because we're short. We would not be able to use the A frame with either of our husbands who are both over 6' tall. Also, using a camp toilet (the only option) is difficult because the site isn't very private. The campsites are close together. I would recommend adding on a snap on screen to the door that opens on the side of the A frame so that the air can come in but bugs stay out.

Cozy spot, beautiful area. Was just passing through MN and it was a great place to spend a quiet evening. Definitely recommend. A couple notes, I didn't have cell service out there so make sure to record the directions and instructions before you arrive. Also, wish I would have taken them up on a couple of those firewood bundles to quiet the mosquitoes.

Site 6 - The Camps at The Vineyard

Beautiful property with trees, open spaces and a gushing river this time of year. The property is really well looked after with clearly marked campsites and fire pits. We lost cell service in town so make sure you review the directions beforehand or it may take a little longer to find your way. Carl was a good communicator and kept us well informed prior to our arrival and even came over with a bottle of plum wine (harvested from his property) to share. We would definitely stay here again. Excellent spot!

The Sight and Sounds of the Water!

This place is located on a beautiful piece of land. The directions are clear and campsites are well marked. There is some road noise as mentioned in other posts but The river was the crowning glory of this site! I would definitely camp here again!
