Escape to 120 private acres of lush northern forest with part of the Beaver River running through the property. This peaceful off-grid retreat features a cozy one-bedroom cabin for two (with a cot for a third guest) and space to park up to two campers, making it perfect for couples, families, or small groups looking to reconnect with nature. Explore the property, gather around the fire pit, play cornhole, bocce, or board games, or simply slow down and enjoy the quiet. On clear nights, marvel at breathtaking stargazing and, if you're lucky, the spectacular Northern Lights. Away from city lights, the Milky Way stretches overhead. There are deer, tons of birds, and even the distant howl of a wolf pack are all part of the experience. Beyond the property, the North Shore of Lake Superior offers endless opportunities for hiking, paddling, sightseeing, charming small towns, scenic beaches, and waterfalls. From the property, Split Rock lighthouse is only 13 minutes, Gooseberry state park is 24 minutes, Tettegouche state park is 18 minutes. The Superior Hiking Lax Lake Rd. trailhead is only 7 minutes away. And of course, Lake superior is only 9 minutes from your door. These are only a few options close to the property, but there's soo much more around the property to make sure you have a great vacation on Minnesota's North Shore! Please note: There's no electricity on the property...This is a rustic off-grid experience designed for those who enjoy unplugging and embracing nature. If you're looking for a luxury getaway with all the conveniences of modern living, this may not be the right fit. However, if peace, privacy, and the outdoors are what you're after, you'll feel right at home. FAQ How remote is the property? — The property is easily accessed just off Hwy 3 on a maintained gravel/dirt road. You're only 9 minutes from the shores of Lake Superior and downtown Beaver Bay. Exploring the property? -- Feel free to explore anywhere on the property but do so at your own risk. There's no hunting or trapping on the property. Garbage - There is no garbage service. Please pack out all your garbage and bring it with you.1 bedroom cabin + room to park 2 campers. The cabin has a cozy wood burning stove (we provide firewood), solar electric, starlink internet (no cell service on property but you can stream anything), a kitchen with a very small solar powered fridge, and a indoor toilet. There's everything you need to cook a meal - induction cooktop, pots, pans, utensils, spices, microwave, air fryer, toaster, and a coffee maker for your morning coffee. There's no running water in the cabin but the kitchen is setup with a double sink for hand and dishwashing with pre-filled water containers sourced from our natural spring 50 yards away. It houses our natural artesian spring well for all your water needs. Take a hot shower or fill up the water jugs for your cabin. The fully furnished cabin includes an open living room with a comfy couch, working desk (the wifi/internet works great for all your video calls/teams and streaming), and a cozy bedroom with a queen size bed and plenty of extra blankets for those chilly Northern nights. Outside, enjoy the fire pit and chairs, charcoal grill, gas grill, cornhole, and bocce ball. and woodshed stocked with extra firewood. Up and down The North shore of Lake Superior there's also a ton of great trail systems, rivers, small towns, and beaches to explore. Is this cabin for everyone? —Not exactly… We want to be clear that this is an off-grid cabin that was meant to be used as a rustic retreat. SOME FAQ...How long will the solar power last? —Well, you are completely off-grid. So, the solar-powered lighting & charging, etc is all dependent on the sun. With the current setup, one could last a couple days depending on usage. If you need to light a candle there's plenty of options in the cupboard. What about water? —The natural spring near the cabin has been fully tested and is excellent to drink or cook with! Please keep an eye on the grey water 5 gallon bucket below the sink. Be sure to chuck the water in the woods when it's close to full so it doesn’t overflow (don’t forget to put the bucket back under the sink drain, or you’ll have a mess to clean up). There's also solar powered shower that will give you approximately a hour a day of hot showers. What is your bathroom situation? —We use the Laveo Dry Flush waterless toilet indoors so no outhouse
