We are conveniently located between Calumet and McLain State Park as well as adjacent the Swedetown Recreation Area (our property touches Swedetown's boundary and the M203 trailhead is just down the road). Using us as a basecamp, everything the Keweenaw has to offer is easily within reach.
Important details regarding our sites:
Sites 1 - 3 are for tenting groups. Among these sites 1 and 3 will accommodate multiple tents while site 2 only has room for one. There is a short walk to access our tent sites.

Down the gravel road about 1/3 miles are logging roads to hike, bike and explore. OHV trails are a couple miles away but check local maps for detailed information.

One of two private boondocking RV/camp sites available right across the street from the public Lake Superior Beach.
Maple Site sits on the corner of Maple Street and Lakeshore Drive only 100’ away from the beach path which has ADA compliant metals mats and a picnic table. You can hear the waves and watch the sunset over the dune on this site surrounded by woods and prairie grass. A mowed walking path also goes from the site to Lakeshore Drive.
Poplar Site sits on the corner of Poplar Street and Maple Street. This site is nestled between the prairie grass and woods and is a short walk either around the corner via road or through the path to the beach which is in sight only a 2 minute walk from your parking spot.
Enjoy a picnic table lunch or dinner on the path that overlooks the harbor break wall and Porcupine Mountains in one direction, and 14 Mile Point to the other. Sites are an 8 block walk or half mile drive to downtown Ontonagon. If water fill, showers, or dump site are needed, Ontonagon Township Campground is less than a mile down the road. Sites are mowed grass fields on solid ground. No fire pits in the campsite but fires are allowed on the beach, just please be respectful and tend to it and extinguish it once you are finished.

Wander through a mix of short forest trails and open space, or enjoy a stroll through our gardens (while our campsite is pet friendly, we do ask that you keep your pets out of the garden areas). We’re just up the road from Hungarian Falls, a beautiful nature preserve with scenic hiking trails, swimming spots, and cascading waterfalls. The historic town of Calumet is only 7 minutes away, home to charming shops, dining, and part of the Keweenaw National Historical Park. Local attractions include:
Swedetown Recreation Area – mountain biking and hiking trails
Calumet Lions Park – disc golf, horseshoes, and nature trails
Calumet Golf Course – only 2 minutes away from us
Calumet Township Waterworks Park – volleyball, basketball, picnic areas, and Lake Superior access
Heading south, you’ll find more adventures within 30 minutes, including Nara Nature Park, Michigan Tech Trails, Maasto Hiihto Trails, and the Portage Canal. For bigger excursions, Mt. Bohemia is just 40 minutes north, and Copper Harbor—with epic views and even more trails—is a bit further beyond.

Snowmobile and ATV trail #3 is just a short cruise down Donken-Tapiola Road. Furry friends are always welcome and are able to be off leash! Turtle Pond Site has an approx. 12x30 foot level gravel pad and a fire pit on a small pond frequented by turtles, ducks, deer, birds, and even an occasional beaver. There is a 100 year old Finnish Homestead a short walk down a mowed trail. Guests are encouraged to take a look, but please don't enter the buildings as their integrity is unknown.
We strive to continue to improve our property every year. This year, we are working to improve the pond health and its borders. An updated photo is included in our listing; but you may notice small differences as the property settles back after being disrupted during this improvement. In the years to come, our beautiful barn will become a venue for weddings as well as a suite and rentable rooms where you can stay. We’ll also be continuing to grow our family farm, orchard and of course our growing array of animals for you to visit.
For guests we have a community fire pit in our yard and host fires most nights that we have guests. We also have a sauna that we heat up many nights so feel to let us know if these things interest you. Private sauna is available for $10 for your group

ACCOMODATION
The camper has electricity with lights/outlets/ a fan and a small heater. The windows open with screens for nice ventilation. The comfortable twin mattress is complete with a clean mattress cover. Please bring your own sleeping bag / bedding / pillow case / towel.
The kitchen has a mini-fridge and a gas camping stove and is furnished with all you need for cooking and eating. If you prefer cooking on an open fire there is a campfire pit that's a great spot to hang out on cool evenings. You can enjoy your meals on the little retro table in the kitchen or on the big picnic table in the yard. Internet is also available.
Your large private outdoor bathroom has a hot-water shower and a camper style toilet. (see photo). The camper is right next to the outdoor kitchen/bathroom which is connected to the back of the main house. It was all built with maximum privacy in mind for both the Hip-camper and the House-guest.
THE AREA
You are on the edge of the village of Larium in Calumet township. It's a very safe and quiet area. You can see some neighbor's houses from the yard - all nice good people :)
It's only a few minutes walk or bike ride to downtown Calumet where you can find a grocery store, coffee shops, a great bakery, restaurants ... Calumet also has a big farmer's market every Saturday during the warmer months and free music performances every Wednesday night at the Calumet Theater!
For nature lovers - your right in it! You can start hiking or biking right out of the camper. Your connected to miles of trails that cover the Keweenaw Peninsula. For swimming it's only a short drive to Calumet Water Works Park for an excellent Lake Superior Sunset Beach. You may also want to check out Mount Bohemia for the ultimate spa relaxation at the end of adventure filled days!

We had a fantastic stay at this site. It is situated just across the street from a beautiful stretch of fine sand beach. We used the picnic bench shown in one of the pictures each morning to cook breakfast. Great sunsets, sunrises, and swimming.
The site itself was level for tents, was grassy over a sandy soil that allowed for easy tent staking, and drained really well after a torrential rain - not a single puddle. I saw a review earlier about ants - maybe they are seasonal, because we didn’t see any when we were there mid August.
If you have a private camping toilet, you could use it here, but we just went to town.
We would definitely stay here again for a return trip to the Porcupines!

Mike was a very kind host and offered to help us if we needed anything. The sauna got quite hot which was amazing and the shower was a much needed refresher.
The site has 3 campsites on property. Only one of which is actually on the water. On either side of the lot are 2 houses so it is private without you feeling like there is Noone there if something goes really wrong. The site is very close to the corner store Krupps (5 minutes down the rode) for ice cream, firewood, gas and any other essentials. Houghton/Hancock is also a close 35 minute drive for restaurants, any shopping that you would like and larger grocery stores + Co-Op. I would definitely come back/recommend a friend.

We had such a great time at Turtle Pond. Everything was perfect, the surrounding trails were amazing and seeing our dogs run through the property was the highlight of the trip. Stephanie obviously cares about this place. Truly magical. 9.8/10 - . 2 for lack of a picnic table but otherwise a perfect site.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from a site among some apple trees on a farm, but this site was fantastic! It provided plenty of space, and, other than traffic on some roads in the area, we never heard anybody at all. Ashley was very gracious, and we were able to get some veggies for dinner from what they produce in the farm. I was, initially a little reluctant about the walk from parking area to site, but it was short, and the path was well maintained. We had no trouble quickly loading and unloading. We would definitely camp here again.

Turtle Pond was perfect! Private, cozy and a beautiful view! Yes, you can hear road and there are few shade options, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I found it to be a great spot for day trips. One day to the Porcupines, one day to Cooper Harbor and around, and back for a nice fire:) the firewood on site was perfect! Absolutely beautiful spot. Although I think the tent spot is even more beautiful than the camper spot because it is right off the water. We enjoyed the privacy it afforded us and the water was very comfortable. We brought our camper but already plan on coming back with our tent to enjoy the site even more.

Simple plot of land, easy to find as it’s right off the road but not a busy road. And on the other side of the road.. Lake Superior! Beautiful beach and there IS a picnic table right across the street on the beach was we used to cook our food. Somewhat-private lot, close to the town!

Our stay at Constellation Farm was great. AJ was a phenomenal host who took the time to get to know every guest during our stay and went out of his way to make sure all of our accommodation needs were met. If you’re ever find yourself in the UP and the Kewaunee Penninsula, look them up, you’ll enjoy the experience.

Ashley and her husband are very nice and friendly when you arrive and for your whole stay. We stayed at the Lupine site, it definitely felt very secluded from their house area and from the other campsite. It definitely has a very good outdoor/ camping feel to it. Ashley’s sourdough bread is fantastic, I would highly recommend purchasing a couple loaves. If we ever feel the need to vacation in this area again we will definitely be making reservations here!

A beautiful, handbuilt cabin that stands out from the crowd of mass-manufactured shortterm rentals. The hike in during summer is an easy quarter-mile and there is a cart provided.
