What more do you need than a private camping site and your 125' of your own pristine Lake Superior beachfront access? Well, there is the need of a fire ring so we added that, too! Everything else you will to bring to enjoy the million dollar views. Oh, and on the opposite side of the camping site is quiet slough which is great for smooth water paddling and exploring. Down the gravel road about 1/3 miles are logging roads to hike, bike and explore. OHV trails are a couple miles away but check local maps for detailed information. Intentionally being minimalists beyond a fire ring and picnic table, there is a port-a-john (of humble means) to make your stay comfortable. You will need to bring your own firewood if you desire a campfire.

We’ll also be continuing to grow our family farm, orchard and of course our growing array of animals for you to visit. For guests we also have a community fire pit in our yard and host fires most nights that we have guests. We also have a sauna that we heat up many nights so feel to let us know if these things interest you.

Snowmobile and ATV trail #3 is just a short cruise down Donken-Tapiola Road. Furry friends are always welcome and are able to be off leash! Turtle Pond Site has an approx. 12x30 foot level gravel pad and a fire pit on a small pond frequented by turtles, ducks, deer, birds, and even an occasional beaver. There is a 100 year old Finnish Homestead a short walk down a mowed trail. Guests are encouraged to take a look, but please don't enter the buildings as their integrity is unknown. We strive to continue to improve our property every year. This year, we are working to improve the pond health and its borders. An updated photo is included in our listing; but you may notice small differences as the property settles back after being disrupted during this improvement. We were able to maintain the privacy that guests compliment in our reviews while also clearing away unnecessary overgrowth.

Contact the host if booking in March or April. Also, contact the host if there are any special requests for 2026 that may appear blocked as we often use the site and can be flexible if needed. This site has a private level aggregate 50 foot RV pad overlooking Lake Superior with 50/30 amp service, well water and septic hookups. This site is best for Class A, B or C RV's. Towables will work, but you will need to back in for access to your tow vehicle and your door will open away from the lake. No tents allowed. With respect for our good neighbors, no parties or loud music allowed. This site is for quietly relaxing with your family and friends and enjoying the big lake views. The site has 100 feet of private sandy beach and great swimming (sandy shallow bottom out 100 feet). Included is a wood fired Sauna to help with the lakes colder water. Also included is a 16x20 deck overlooking the lake, 2 picnic tables, deck chairs, gas grill, charcoal grill, beach chairs and 2 fire rings (Firewood is available to purchase onsite or can be purchased at several places on the way in). A separate flushable toilet enclosure is available and can be used if desired. A canoe, 2 kayaks and paddles are provided for you to use at your own risk (Some lifejackets are in the deck box). The premium site will support a 40 foot vehicle but require you to disconnect a towable at an angle for access to your vehicle. There is an additional RV parking spot with full hookups that may be available. Contact the host to confirm availability since I sometimes park my boat trailer there. The additional site will support a 36 foot vehicle again requiring you to disconnect at an angle for access to your tow vehicle (30 amps only from this additional site via a provided extension cord). A large Class A or C will require you to have good backup skills to get out and a spotter to watch for obstacles and clearance on the way in and out, but it is easily done. Plenty of blocks are provided for additional clearance if needed. ATT has good cell service here and Verizon is OK but marginal at times.

GORGEOUS PROPERTY!! There was some firewood at the property, but it was far too windy to justify a fire. Clear expectations for winter camping. Campsite was not accessible - road not plowed all the way to site. If road was plowed to the site, the site would’ve been accessible - there was very little snow actually at the site. Didn’t bother us to park at the adjacent property. Access to property is only available when coming from the north - road coming from south is not plowed. Neighbors are close by on one side, but we did not encounter anyone. We were also traveling with two pups - they loved having the beach to themselves!

I had a wonderful time at Linda and Darryl’s cabin. The trek to the cabin was a lovely snowshoe through the woods, and the cabin itself is gorgeous and so thoughtfully equipped. Directions are clear for both navigating and operating equipment inside the cabin, and the hosts were responsive and helped with a smooth check in. A perfect balance of adventure and creature comforts.

This is an amazing little cabin in the woods. Linda and Daryl are great hosts. This place is only 5 min from Mt Bohemia and there is great cell phone reception here. Such a fun home base to explore the Copper Harbor area.

Second time here with a mixed experience We are winter camping in our van and owner said he wouldn’t be able to get up there to see the snow conditions but we could park on road, cool, sounds good. We get there and the plow stops before the property. 3ft wall we couldn’t pass. We wound up talking to the neighbors and some random man was in their home when they got there. Crazy! So naturally it felt super uncomfortable to ask if we could camp for the night right up to their driveway. Turns out the owner of the camp spot was already there that day, knew about the plow issue and just didn’t tell us 🤷🏻‍♀️ That unusual experience did not take away from the stunning beauty this plot has to offer. The lake was frozen, dead silent and as the sun came up the lake came to life and you could hear all the water rushing underneath. Easily a locked in memory that I will never forget. Stars were amazing as always.

Gotta love the Copper Cabin in winter! Cozy heat with wood stove, tons of fresh snow & sauna to boot! Our 5th stay ( or is it 6?). Darryl & Linda are great hosts - excellent communication, rapid response & friendly comments. We got to meet Linda for the first time, finally & just as nice in person! Looking forward to out next trip up here!

Quiet, great location. Ryan was was friendly and kept up on anything that I needed for camp. Spacious camp, nice bed, power was provided no problems, plenty of firewood, water, ECT. Lots of hiking and waterfalls within the area. Short distance to fuel, food, town. Ryan and his Father were great hosts.

This is a nice little campsite on Lake Superior with plenty of beach to walk in both directions. We really enjoyed our late season camping trip and lucked out on the fantastic weather. Host was great and accommodating. We would love to stay again.
