Escape to your own private slice of Lake Superior's wild shoreline. Nestled on a wooded acre with a sun-dappled clearing perfect for camping, this secluded retreat offers something truly rare: a private beach on the shores of one of the world's great lakes, just steps from your site. Follow the boardwalk over the wetlands to your own stretch of Superior's shore — where you can hunt for agates and glowing Yooperlites, paddle out in the two provided kayaks, swim, or simply sit and watch the waves roll in. No crowds. No noise. Just you and the lake. Back at camp, gather around the fire pit as the stars come out, share a meal at the picnic table, or set out on the water in one of the provided kayaks to explore the coastline at your own pace. The newly widened, graveled driveway makes arrival easy, so you can spend less time maneuvering and more time unwinding. When adventure calls, the legendary Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and the breathtaking Lake of the Clouds are just a few miles down the road — offering world-class hiking, mountain biking, and some of the most stunning scenery the Upper Peninsula has to offer. This is the UP at its finest — rugged, beautiful, and all yours.Park your camper or pitch your tent in the wooded clearing and take a short walk over the boardwalk to find yourself on the shore of Lake Superior! A beautiful sand and sandstone beach with crystal clear water, plenty of rocks for agate hunting and the perfect place to catch some of the best sunsets you have ever seen. There is one acre of property with neighbors on both sides (visible from the site) but you will often have the entire beach to yourself. Look for Yooperlites and the Northern Lights at night or just enjoy the awesome show of the stars. There is a port-a-potty on the campsite, fire pit and picnic table. We love dogs but please do not bring aggressive dogs as they may encounter other pups and people walking on the beach. All garbage must be packed out when you leave. If you want to use the kayaks, you must be experienced, able to swim and sign the kayak liability waivers we will send. We hope to have electric hooked up in the coming weeks but there is none right now.

Had a wonderful time at Bugwayji beach! Entrance to beach was neat and only a skip hop and jump away. Easy to find off the main road. Was a little disappointed with how close the neighbors were on both sides, so close you can hear the conversations. Otherwise the spot was great and owner was easy to communicate with.

Incredible beach, sunsets, days on the beach, fires, exploring Ontonogan and the Porkies - we made memories that will last a lifetime tent camping for 4 nights at this site… it is truly a dream and we can’t wait until we can go back! Do not hesitate to book 🏕️🔥☀️

Huge camping area that would be great for a just about anything even though we tent camped. The port a potty was clean. The picnic area was nice but the real jewel (besides the most friendly host ever) was the spectacular boardwalk to the beach. Wow! I have to say the view of lake Superior was breathtaking.💚

Rocks and eagles!

We had an amazing time! This was a much needed escape for my friends and I! The sunsets over the lake were amazing. We saw so many eagles, found an insane amount quartz, calcite, and soo many other rocks and crystals. The porta potty was clean, and the space was perfect for what we needed. We made some amazing memories!

I had a nice relaxing 4th of July weekend here. The campsite itself was nice but the highlight was the private beach. I spent most of my time there. Porcupine Mountains visitor center is about 10 minutes away for some great hiking.

If I am being honest I don't want to say how amazing this place was and how it literally was just so much more than we could have expected. I wish I could gatekeep this place for myself but CJ is an awesome host and deserves to have this place on the map! I have one tinnnnyyyyyy complaint and that's just how close to the road you are but on a scale of 100 of how the noise was with that I'd give it a 10 so its not bad.. plus you should be spending all your time down on the beach anyways so you shouldn't hear it then :) can't wait to make our next trip. Our girls saw the pics and want to come next time even and they hate camping so that should tell you something!

This is such a beautiful and peaceful place to camp! I stayed here solo with my dog, Thor, in my 20-foot camper, and the private boardwalk leading down to Lake Superior made this site feel incredibly special. The shoreline is gorgeous, the campsite is spacious, and I really appreciated having a picnic table, fire pit and porta potty available during my six-night stay. CJ was wonderful to communicate with. I had a couple of questions during my stay, and he got right back to me each time, which I especially appreciated while camping solo. For anyone bringing a camper, I would recommend this site for smaller trailers, as my 20-foot camper required some extra maneuvering when it was time to leave. CJ was very helpful and arranged assistance for me, which I truly appreciated. If you love rock hunting, long beach walks, beautiful sunsets and falling asleep to the sound of Lake Superior, you will love this place!

We loved tent camping on Cjs property! The boardwalk was lit up with solar lights for at night! The beach was our favorite area to hang out at. Our dog oakley loved running around and playing on the beach! And if you love rocks there are plenty to find! And if you need firewood, going left out the driveway right across the road, the neighbor sells nice big 5$ bundles!!
