I loved tent camping here! The hosts were very kind and provided water and firewood. The site was very private, quiet, and had plenty of space to put up multiple tents. Thank you so much for being wonderful hosts and making our trip so easy and relaxing! Would absolutely come back to this site when in the area again.

Our camping trip on Donald’s land was fantastic. The camping spots are far apart with much privacy, the land is beautiful and provides a calming hide away from bustling DC. Donald provided us with water and firewood and brought us extras as we ran out, he is very attentive to messages. Our dog loved roaming around and I personally loved walking in the maze. I can imagine it’s also the perfect spot for kids to run around and explore! Don’t hesitate to book if you are looking for a rustic and relaxing camping trip.

We had the best time! Opted to camp here instead of a crowded park on memorial day weekend. We had plenty of space and loved being able to explore. It was the perfect place for my dogs first camping trip and he loved being able to run around. We were able to watch lots of sky divers too which was so cool! Donald brought us firewood and water so we had one less thing to worry about. Would definitely camp here again.

Loved the experience! Just have to be ready for a more primitive site (e.g., outhouse instead of a toilet). Kids had a great time. The only thing I wish it had was a grill for the fire pits but even without it I would come back here.

The Big Dipper Ranch was amazing! I’m sad we only spent one night there. I’d love to come back! Jud greeted us and gave us some insight on things to do and see. We were able to get a sunset hike in and check out the winery down the road. The tent set up was cozy and comfortable. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

We stayed in our 25 foot RV with our small dogs. It was a great site, picturesque and peaceful with plenty of space. We especially appreciated it since there are no commercial campgrounds in the area. Randy was out of town when we stayed but was super friendly and helpful via phone and email. Highly recommended.

Beas's Den is even better than we expected. The campsites feel somewhat secluded and tucked away, even though they are really right in the middle of a lot of stuff. The overlook just up the trail is beautiful, especially at sunset. The property is also very pretty and offers both potable water and firewood. There's even a cool brewery just a couple hundred yards up the road. We had a great time and would definitely go back!

The only way to get in the property is to walk past the national park district during dusk to dawn hours. Please abide by these rules. It makes it safe for the campers, but if you do not comply, you will not be allowed back and the police can be called because this is the national park District that you walk past. You will arrive at our house, and the campsite is approximately 150 yds down the river trail. The campsite is completely private from our house. There’s great fishing, hiking, kayaking and canoeing from the property and also plenty more nearby. We’re only a few miles outside of Strasburg which offers great antique shops, dining, and a brewery with live music on weekends. Five night maximum permitted. We prefer that guests arrive before dark. **Note that the North Fork is a shallow river with a slate bottom. If you plan to wade, fish or swim in the river, you may want to bring some sturdy shoes to wear in the river.

We are located less than 1.5 hours from DC which makes us an awesome weekend adventure out of the city. Our property is also a short drive away from many hiking trails in Shenandoah National Park. After hiking in the park, come back to enjoy some of our wine at our picnic area overlooking the vines! We are also within striking distance of several other great restaurants, wineries and distilleries. Other great activities nearby include apple picking, spelunking, swimming, kayaking, rafting, and of course wine tasting. We are near to Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah River, Luray Caverns, Skyline Caverns, and Old Rag Mountain. Your host is available and enjoys getting to know Hipcampers. Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable.
