Voted Top VA site! See Reviews. Pastimes on Passage Creek Ranch is conveniently located at the north end of Fort Valley. The recreational draw to this area is hard to beat in VA, and this property has it all for an amazing outdoor weekend! The ranch comprises 40 acres of lowland acreage designated for the camp, including a 5-acre lake. The Cedar Grove sites 1, 2, and 3 are along the banks of Passage Creek located within a sparse, groomed Cedar grove. They are all a short walk (or drive) to the lake and beach amenities. Each site has varying access to the creek, so check out the site details. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups, as well as, travel trailers of all sizes up to off-road motorcoaches in site 1. There are no hookups, so just boondocking. Pack it in, Pack it out. Generators are allowed but please be aware of the other sites and direct the noise away. The Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, nestled between the mountains and the lake. It overlooks our 5-acre lake with mountain views in the background. It's on the opposite side of the lake from the Cedar Sites. This site has its own dock and is just a short walk down a mowed trail to a beautiful section of Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream can cascade behind the site and run under it to feed the lake when the conditions are right. It's a delicate site, so the accommodations and group size is strictly limited. Check out the reviews and extensive gallery for many options of this amazing property! Locally, the North end of Fort Valley offers many great hiking trails, trout fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and the Elizabeth Furnace day-use park. Taskers Gap OHV/ATV park is a short drive south, and the valley is sandwiched between both forks of the Shenandoah River for those looking to paddle.

Lakeside Mountain Stream is a secluded site tucked between the mountainside forest and a 5-acre lake. This site is limited to 10 people / 5 cars and that can get tight if your group is not consolidated. This Lakeside site is right on the edge of the water, features its own dock, has a mountain seasonal stream running through, and Passage Creek a short walk away. The Lakeside site can accommodate travel trailers but with limited maneuverability and size capabilities (see details and photos). The Lakeside site is great for small friends groups or families who want a very secluded site, amazing mountain views, and the convenience of water at your feet. The layout has flat waterfront tent space and fire ring, and an upper tier for parking, trailers, or more tents. On the opposite side of the lake is a large mowed common area for lakeside hanging, a beach area, as well as a fleet of boats to play with. BYO inflatables. The lake is stocked with Bass, Catfish, and Bluegill. Please catch and release.

Passage Creek is stocked with Trout. Voted Top VA site! See Reviews. Cedar Grove 1 is the most open site. It is best for large or multiple RV campers and trailers. A great mix of open areas with Mountain views and shady areas for tents and hammocks. #1 is right on the banks of Passage Creek with a short, easy-access trail to the water. All sites have access to the lake with a short walk or drive to the beach area (200 yards). There is a large mowed common area for lakeside hanging as well as a fleet of boats to play with. BYO inflatables. The lake is stocked with Bass, Catfish, and Bluegill. Please catch and release.

A few small campers and pop-us could set up here but it's well suited for car camping and tents. The site is right on the bank of Passage Creek with water access down a bank trail. All sites have access to the lake with a short walk or drive to the beach area (200 yards). There is a large mowed common area for lakeside hanging as well as a fleet of boats to play with. BYO inflatables. The lake is stocked with Bass, Catfish, and Bluegill. Please catch and release.

Passage Creek is stocked with Trout. Voted Top VA site! See Reviews. Cedar Grove 2 is the most shaded site. It is best for large family groups who are mostly tent camping. Small trailers and pop-ups fit fine but there is a little less maneuverability in #2. This site has a smaller central open lawn surrounded by many flat shaded spots for tents and cars. It's right on the banks of Passage Creek but with limited access down to the water. I've cleared trails to the water but the bank is steep along site 2. All sites have access to the lake with a short walk or drive to the beach area (200 yards). There is a large mowed common area for lakeside hanging as well as a fleet of boats to play with. The lake is stocked with Bass, Catfish, and Bluegill. Please catch and release.

This listing is set up for those who want all 4 sites (the "Whole Camp") for a single group. The base price gets you 20 guests with the option to add many more. This option was created for those who want privacy for their group, flexibility on how to set up the camp, and freedom to not bother other guests. It's a great option for large family/friend reunions, celebrations, club outings, milestone events...ect. Please message me before booking to confirm your celebration is an ideal candidate. I have a few other additions, such as a Hay Wagon stage for music or performances, lawn games, and a massive bonfire option (if timber is available) Book in advance, as soon as a single site books this option is blocked.

We loved this site! We were able to do so many activities, fishing, kayaking, walking around the site. The restrooms were clean as well. Eric stopped by to say hi and give us some tips on what to see around the campsite which was very nice and helpful! We will definitely come back to this site!

I love this place so much, I hesitate to tell my friends about it because it’s so special to my family. We’ve become the kind of people that say things like, “We can’t wait for our summer trip to the lake!” I’m not assuming of it at all. This property popped up on Zillow tomorrow. I don’t sell my first born just to make it happen. The host is always amazing and amenities always get better each year.! We look forward to spending time beside the lake again soon.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our group had an amazing experience camping at Pastimes at Passage Creek! It was such a unique spot for our entire group to camp together. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own space while still feeling like we were all together. The property is peaceful, beautiful, and incredibly well maintained. One thing that really stood out was how exceptionally clean the porta-potties were. We also loved the thoughtful washing station with a large mirror, shelf for toiletries, water jugs, and real soap—a small touch that made a big difference after a day outdoors. The lake was a huge hit with everyone! There were plenty of kayaks, a canoe, life jackets, goggles, and even water guns for the kids to enjoy. The fishing was excellent, too, so there was always something fun to do. Eric, the owner, was fantastic. He communicated promptly, answered all of our questions, and made the entire experience easy from start to finish. If you're looking for a peaceful, family-friendly campground with great amenities and a host who truly cares about his guests, I highly recommend Pastimes at Passage Creek. We can't wait to come back!

I never know how to construct these reviews, but here goes: My friend and I stayed for 3 nights; We were close enough to amenities that if we needed something, it wasn’t too far, but it also gave us a more pure camping experience. It was very well maintained and super easy to navigate. Eric gave clear instructions before our arrival and made us feel more than welcome. We spent our time fishing, swimming and hiking. All of which were great on this property. We will be returning!

Third year in a row and we cannot get enough of this place! I swear while I’m away from this place, I convince myself that its amazingness MUST be exaggerated in my mind but then we get to the property and it ends up being better than I remember. Absolutely dreamy, even with the wildfire haze and record heat! We’ll be back next year for sure!

It was me and my buddy’s second time staying at the Lakeside Mountain Stream site, and once again, it did not disappoint!! Eric is such a great host, and we always look forward to seeing him when we visit the property. The fishing was incredible in both the lake and Passage Creek this time of year, and we lucked out with great weather despite some sketchy forecasts. I cannot recommend this campsite enough - 11/10!!!

We loved staying at Cedar Grove 2! There was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy camping for our 3-night stay. Firewood was available to purchase when we ran out, which was a nice convenience. The bathroom was close by and had fresh water for washing up, and the lake was beautiful—both to be on and to walk alongside. Can’t wait for our next visit; we’re already planning to bring more friends along.

Really fun place for my first hip camp! I stayed with my 5 year old for four nights. The creek that runs through the property is a good way to cool off on a summer day. And the rowboats to take out on the lake are nice as well. The property itself is very quiet and rural. There's lots of stuff to do in the surrounding area. The Fireball Arcade in Front Royal was a hit with my kid, and I loved the Virginia Beer Museum next door. And of course you can't skip Shenandoah Valley National Park and Skyline Drive. Overall a nice alternative to campgrounds where you're packed right next to someone else. Strongly recommend if you're looking to camp in the area.

I wanna say this place is terrible so no one else goes and we have it to ourselves, but we love this place. Its beautiful, quiet, clean. If there was potable water, a dump station, even just electrical hookups for rvs then it would be 11/10. It's already 10/10 without that stuff. There are some big fish in the lake if your good enough to catch em.

We had an amazing time! Eric is kind and friendly but also let us have free reign of the lake and campsite. We were the only ones there this week and other than a lot of rain and our dog taking a solo hike (🙄) it was super relaxing!!! The lake is stocked with a nice variety of fish, our Merlin app picked up 27 varieties of birds in half an hour, and it's just beautiful. There's several cool hiking places in the area that they've posted info about on their Wall by the bathroom (nice and clean btw) Perfect mix of being out in the country, with a country store several miles down the road in case you need small stuff. Winchester is about 35 minutes away in case something bigger happens (like your sleeping mat going irreparably flat the first night) Also they have a great selection of lake equipment (kayaks, canoes, life jackets and all the paddles) we brought our own but didn't have to.

Felt like being at adult summer camp for the weekend with options to fish, kayak, and explore the creek! Docks had fishing pole holders and were well maintained. The lakeside site was very private and had incredible views. Plenty of room for multiple tents. Bathroom situation was clean & a bit of a walk from this site. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed at Camp 1 over Mother’s Day weekend and it was perfect. The site was huge and very private, giving us plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kids (and adults) had a blast fishing, kayaking, and playing in the creek right by our campsite. The bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained too. Everything felt peaceful, natural, and well-cared for. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next trip back. Highly recommend this spot for families or anyone looking for a beautiful, easy-going camping experience!

Eric’s property was absolutely perfect! Such a beautiful area, stunning views and tons of space! The lakeside site was perfect for our group as we love fishing, swimming and kayaking. We even got to see Eric stock the lake Saturday morning with this seasons catfish. Such a friendly host! They have plenty of on site activities such as kayaks, canoes, floatation devices, firewood, fish food, charcoal grills and a nice outdoor toilet set up and handwashing station. We will definitely come back again and again!

We had such a nice time! The hosts were extremely friendly and checked in on us which I thought was great. The overall location is super convenient.. short walk up to the lake and private enough to enjoy your company. We caught a couple of fish and enjoyed the wildlife (woodpeckers and canary’s), listened to the horses across the creek and relaxed. Hope to come back soon!

We had a great stay at Cedar Grove 1. Eric was very welcoming. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and well kept. The camping site was spacious, with the creek right beside us and the pond a short walk away. My kids loved the kayaks, fishing and exploring. I loved the peaceful evenings, views, and being disconnected. We will be back!

Eric was awesome. Friendly and very welcoming, he gave us a chance to set up (big group) and then stopped by to welcome us and make sure we knew where everything was including The Wall with facilities, maps and just a great spot to wash up for supper. We camped L spot but they all looked great. L spot was perfect for my family and gave everyone something they loved from the kayaks, Jon boat, a large pond and a great creek. Falling asleep to the mountain spring fed pond was just everything. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property and just being a very warm and welcoming dude.

We’ve been back to this site probably 10 times now. Simply put, we love it. The prepaid firewood delivery option made it easy, and then being able to purchase more wood at the site ensured we were warm throughout a chilly weekend. The stars were out in full force yet again, a treat for us city dwellers. Looking forward to our next time back.
