Update for late May-June: The river level has dropped nicely, and it is officially swimming season!!! Also, the first fireflies have been spotted and within a week or two their numbers at camp in the evenings will be Biblical. A few details about our sites in the general camping area (sites 1-11): Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10&11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6&7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others. Experience the beauty of this historic property featuring a mix of woodland, grassy hilltops, and clover filled bottomlands. Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended. We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans 4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events. Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Cash venmo paypal zelle all accepted upon arrival. If ordering firewood using the "extra" feature, 1 load is $20.00 which is a 1/2 nights supply. Order 2 if you want a full night/morning supply. I will credit unused wood with a nominal restocking fee.

Summer Family Camp Club Membership

42 acres of amazing Potomac River front land await you and your family to enjoy all summer long. Membership lasts from June 1st -Sept 10th : For only $30.00 per week, each membership entitles the user + 4 family members to nearly unlimited access to the property's camping grounds/camp spots/picnic tables and river access from Monday 8AM-Friday(at noon). Guests are welcome to stay later than noon on Friday's but may need to move from camp sites to the general members area. We have a 30 car + limit during the week and weekends, so members should have lots of freedom to come and go as they wish. We currently have 13 fantastic camp sites and a plan on adding more shortly. Weekend use will be limited to a membership area to allow weekend "Hipcampers" a spot. Unfilled spots on weekends will be available to membership holders on a waiting list basis. Lifeguard on duty on Monday - Sunday 11-4:00 PM Enjoy the shaded beach with your kids or sit high up on the riverbank while they play on the rope swing and enjoy the peace and stillness of our property. Cookout, camp, fish, swim, snorkel (yes the river is super fun to snorkel when the low water is here to stay) and enjoy the outdoors like we were meant too. Open containers are permitted on property. Price is for the entire summer of access, not for one night.

Greg was really helpful (met us at the site, had a shade sail up, gave us tips on river conditions, even filled our water cooler after we accidentally spilled it). Site was is close to Antietam for a good historical activity. All the sites were very flat with plenty of space. May have been noisy if there were campers on either side of us as they are all somewhat close together, but we got lucky and didn’t have immediate neighbors.

My wife & I went tent camping on Greg's property & had a great time. The first night we had loud party neighbors but Greg was extremely flexible, both asking them to quiet and offering to have us change sites. He also has quiet time beginning at 10:30 which we did not know, that was also nice. The rest of our stay was pleasantly uneventful. There was a great hike nearby that allowed us to get moving and spend more time in nature. Would reccommend!

My friends and I camped on Greg’s property, and we had a blast! The site was right to the C&O trail which provided for beautiful morning walks. Not only so, Greg was an incredible and attentive host—he swung by every day to make sure we had everything we needed, and even set up a volleyball net for us. The best part of our weekend were the camp cats that roamed around, one of them even brought us a gift!

Great Scouting Campsite

When searching for a spot for our Cub Scout camping trip, Taylor’s Landing Camping Club stood out. After speaking with Greg the host, who patiently answered all our questions we booked Hilltop 2. The views were spectacular, the site was huge, and easily accommodated 10+ families and all of our vehicles. The bathroom unit was extremely clean, the canopy set up was accommodating with the picnic table, and the fire pit had enough space for us to all sit. The proximity to the canal was great for hikes, and the caves were awesome to explore. Most campsites seemed to be booked, but we had plenty of privacy and barely saw any other campers. Noise was not a concern either. The river was swollen so swimming wasn’t an option, but I can see it being fantastic in this stretch of the river. 10/10 recommended 100% chance we’ll be back. Thanks Greg!

We loved staying at Greg's land. He was very accommodating for us in the situation we were in with the weather and helping us stay as dry as we could with all the rain from the weekend storms. The area is absolutely beautiful with plenty of things to do around the camping area. Greg was very good at checking up on us and making sure that we had everything we needed to make the time we stayed there a success. I would gladly stay here again and will be recommending it to others in the future.

The location was perfect and Greg was very helpful. Our firewood was at the site upon arrival and he was quick to answer any questions we had. It was a peaceful weekend full of biking and trail running. We will definitely be back!

I honestly thought the campsite was right in front of the river, but it wasn’t. The sites are also very close to each other, so personally it just wasn’t my type of campground. The host was very kind and responsive, and we received a refund with no issues after deciding to leave. That said, if you’re the type of person who enjoys exploring and nature walks, I’d still say give

This was our second time at this campsite, and it was fabulous! We stayed on hilltop one which is definitely the best view on the entire property because of where it sits. Greg was extremely friendly and informative as always and I highly recommend camping here.!

We enjoyed our stay and will be back. Super easy to get to, not crowded or loud being next to the towpath. Nice host who checks in occasionally. Simple, basic, no complaints. Will return. (We used an adventure trailer that weighs about 1000 pounds with our kayaks on it. We were able to tow it out of the campground up the hill in our ancient underpowered jeep. It’s a big hill but a regular car can get up and down no problem).

We absolutely love Greg's campsite. Great for a day out on the water, fishing, or birding. We saw Bald Eagles, Osprey, Green Heron, Great Blue Heron, Hawks, and more. Greg's a great dude, and helped me transport my incredibly heavy kayak. I'd personally give this site a 9 out of 10, I want to give it a 10 but I can for these reasons: The trail to get to the water is short, but very very steep and I've got bad knees so it kinda sucks. The driving path to get to the site is also incredibly steep and my tiny car BARELY made it up after 4 unsuccessful attempts.

Greg was a wonderful host! The sites were as described in the listing and check in/check out was simple. The location is superb and our site (#8) was a 30 second walk to the river and the C&O canal. The sites are also spread out enough where it does not feel cramped and the valley is lovely. Highly recommend this camping location and look forward to returning.

Greg was very welcoming and attentive! Checked in with us throughout our stay multiple times to make sure we were good and didn’t need anything. Site was well kept, clean of debris, porta potty’s clean and well maintained, etc. Greg came around daily to collect trash which was very nice!

I loved tent camping on Greg’s land! I was on one of the hilltop sights and the views were so serene. The site was pretty private which was perfect for my 2 dogs and I! I felt safe my entire stay. Camp site and bathroom were well taken care of. I absolutely loved my stay and will be back!

Great camping spot with an amazing setup for outdoor activities. The access to the water was perfect for fishing and kayaking, making it easy to enjoy the whole day outside. One of the highlights was the cavern only about a 1.2 mile walk away — definitely worth the short hike. Peaceful, scenic, and a great place to relax and explore. We’ll definitely be back!

The hilltop campsite was excellent. The views are amazing and still close to the river and C&O. Highly recommend, the host was great and amenable. Dog and kiddo had plenty of room to run and play, campsite was clean and what we needed.

We had such an amazing experience camping here! Greg was incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous, which made our stay even more special. This was our very first camping experience, and I’m so happy we chose his place because it truly became an unforgettable memory for us. Beautiful location! Greg was easy to communicate with & went above & beyond making his sites comfy & shaded. Only stayed one night but we were able to take a great walk along the canal path that is down the hill before you get to river. We were saying how we’d like to stay longer next time while exiting & almost didn’t make it out!! Unfortunately, the grade back to the driveway was too steep for us. Would not recommend anything but a four-wheel-drive vehicle for both upper AND lower campsites. We were driving a converted ram Promaster 3500 extended. Our running boards did not fare well would’ve loved to return but not worth it without 4WD.

Camping here was great! We tented at site 8 and had a great time. Access to the canal and fishing was directly behind the sites which was very awesome. The place is beautiful and would be great to bring your dogs or kids along. We even were visited by a couple camp kitties. Definitely will be back soon!

The Hilltop
This was the best camping experience we’ve ever had. My friends and I gathered at hilltop one for a birthday campout weekend. The site is spectacular with an expansive view of the mountains and the moonrise. This land is sacred, you can feel the care that has gone into tending it. Greg is an absolute gem. He anticipated our needs the entire time and we parted as friends. He went above and beyond to help us have the most amazing time. Thank you Greg!!! We can’t wait to come back!!!
